You Reap What You Sew?
Awful puns aside, pretty solid episode this week with a pretty standard leg design. There wasn't really anything that was going to make people fall super-far behind (with 2 relatively tame Detour options), so that giant pile-up at the end was somewhat inevitable.
Amani and Marcus seemed like another victim of a bad taxi driver, but they were fortunately non-eliminated. We shall see if they can stay in the race!
Week 6 Results
1st place - Andy/Tommy (2x)
2nd place - Justin/Jennifer (1.5x)
3rd place - Jeremy/Sandy (1.2x)
4th place - Laurence/Zac (.9x)
5th place - Ernie/Cindy (.8x)
6th place - Bill/Cathi (.6x)
7th place - Amani/Marcus (0x)
Diversity!
Now that we have the regular bonus games going, as well as the new Keeper Teams cashing in, we're seeing a lot of different kinds of ways to leap ahead in the ranks. Laurence/Zac were a fairly uncommon PAT pick, so there were some players who benefited greatly by the game. Others posted huge gains with a 3x score on a big Andy/Tommy Keeper bet. And one person managed to do both of these.
We did, unfortunately, lose a player this week. Although Amani/Marcus were saved by a non-elimination, they still faced a 0x payout, which caused Georjanna to bust out of the casino. After their 1st place last week, they seemed like a pretty solid pick, but that taxi getting lost really hurt them.
Thanks for playing, Georjanna! Please enjoy a complimentary cocktail in the Casino lounge!
This week's Greatest Gainer Award goes to Scuba Steve, who climbed a staggering 17 ranks all the way up to #16 overall with a nice Keeper Bet. He narrowly beat out another player for this award, but we'll talk about that person shortly. Great job, Scuba Steve!
The Perfect Bet Award goes to FFantasyFX (3.7x) who not only made a big Andy/Tommy Keeper bet, but also managed to pick Laurence/Zac as the PAT. It's pretty hard to make a more perfect bet than that, huh? Way to go!
Also with very strong payouts this week were Scuba Steve (3x), taffnic (3x), esquire (3x) and Week (2.89x).

5cats remains on top this week, but there are lots of people catching up. With the keeper bonus in play, we might be seeing a lot of different people in the race for the top this year. Good luck!

Bonus Game - For "Better" or For "Worse"
In this game, players will decide whether teams will do better or worse this upcoming week, in comparison to this past week.
Here's how it's done.
1. Place a single bet. This bet will cover your entire set of bonus picks this week.
2. Select Amazing Race teams and make a prediction if they'll do better or worse this week, in comparison to the previous leg.
3. The more teams you pick, the higher your potential payout on your single bet.
4. However, if you get a single prediction wrong, you lose the bonus game and your wager.
Sounds easy, right? There's one catch. If any of your teams finish in the exact same spot they did last week, then it counts as a loss. And a single loss means the whole set of wagers are bunk. Think of them as potential poison pills for your bonus wager. So be very careful how many teams you want to go after. For all I know, all 7 teams might finish in the same order again and all the guesses are dead in the water!
A sample wager might look like:
Bonus Game - 12 points
Andy/Tommy - Worse
Amani/Marcus - Better
Or could be as lengthy as:
Bonus - 12 points
Andy/Tommy - Worse
Jusin/Jennifer - Worse
Jeremy/Sandy - Worse
Laurence/Zac - Better
Ernie/Cindy - Better
Bill/Cathi - Better
Amani/Marcus - Better
It just depends how risky your want to play it.
Here is the Payout Table for the bonus game.
Bonus Payout Table
All 7 Correct - 16x
All 6 Correct - 13x
All 5 Correct - 10x
All 4 Correct - 7x
All 3 Correct - 4x
Both Correct - 2.5x
All 1 Correct? - 1.5x
At Least 1 Incorrect Answer - 0x
Max Bet - 12 points
So, remember, you can guess on as many teams as you want. Go for 4 teams? You're facing either a 7x or a 0x. Go one more to 5 teams? You might score 10x. Make sure you're right, though, because one bad pick will ruin the whole set.
TAR19 Teams Remaining
Amani/Marcus
Andy/Tommy
Bill/Cathi
Ernie/Cindy
Jeremy/Sandy
Justin/Jennifer
Laurence/Zac
Good luck!

The bonus game is one of those situations where I just throw math out the window and don't bother with it, because I'm not going to offer a 30x or 40x payout on a 12 point bet.
You math-type people can figure out the real odds on your own.
