Jurassic Park IV
Those dinosaurs weren't real, but one of them still managed to eat Jaime & Cara. It's been awhile since we've had such a high-stress Roadblock. Literally every single team was there, and the leg basically came down to who finished the task last.
The only other similar one I can think of was in TAR4 during that Masquerade Ball Roadblock... There are probably other ones as well that I'm not thinking of. We need the TAR Historians to help me out!

Uh, hallelujah, it's raining points?
Week 5 was a rather good week of scoring for most people, as many people were able to lock into all of the top teams this week. I suspect there are time-travelers amongst us going forward in time to March 21st, and coming back again.
This week's Greatest Gainer Award goes to chiubakka and tvgeek401, who both climbed 5 ranks this week. Nicely done, you two.
The Perfect Bet Award list is a massive tie between qwertypie, tvgeek401, alemattos, Scuba Steve, and vince3, who all doubled up. Since the Casino Game was cleared out of so many points, you'll all have to share one trophy for now. Cut it into little pieces if you want.

A lot of the scores are fairly bunched together at the top of the rankings, so it's still anyone's game. I have a feeling the game is about to get a lot more interesting...

Bonus Bonus Bonus
I feel like the irregularity of this season has made our group start itching for bonus games. Soooooo, instead of rolling them out one at a time, I'm just going to throw them all at you at the same time.
For the remainder of the TAR18 Casino game, players may place additional wagers for individual placements. Got a weird feeling that Kent/Vyxsin will finish 2nd this week? Or maybe Margie/Luke will finish 3rd again? Well, you can now bet on that.
A bonus wager will consist of 3 parts, 1) the ranking you're betting on, 2) the team you're betting on, and 3) how many points you're wagering.
These wagers are all-or-nothing, so if you're wrong about your guess, you'll score 0x for that wager.

As you can see, there are two restrictions on your bonus bets. No bonus wager may exceed 5 points, and you may only make up to 7 individual bets. You can spread them around however you'd like... The point is that you can't make more than 7 of em.
A sample bonus wager might look like:

You can spread 'em around however you want. You can play it safer and double-up in some places. Or you can try for many of them. It's up to you.
You'll also notice that 1st place isn't on the list. Well, that's because you're already going for 1st place in the other payout table, so it seems redundant to double-up on that ranking.
One Last Thing.
Oh yeah, one more thing.
If you're the only person to get a specific bonus wager correct (and everyone else is wrong), I'm going to +5x the payout on that bet. So this week, your 5 point bet could score 12x.*

This additional bonus may change over time depending on whether this breaks the game or not.

I'm kind of nervous about doing this bonus game, because I fear that I may have broken my own game. But this season's scoring has been so blah that we need to kick-start it.
