Lost in Translation
After a couple weeks characterized as being "TAR Family Edition"ish, it was nice to see a more high-impact week. The producers let the French WWI re-enacters live out what is probably a person dream of theirs, shooting at ignorant Americans.
Ironically, though, between all the gunfire, it was Morse Code that did a team in. Joe & Heidi ended up being the next team eliminated.
Week 5 Results
1st place - Louie/Michael (2x)
2nd place - Steve/Allie (1.6x)
3rd place - Jet/Cord (1.4x)
4th place - Dan/Jordan (1.2x)
5th place - Carol/Brandy (.8x)
6th place - Brent/Caite (.6x)
7th place - Jordan/Jeff (.4x)
8th place - Joe/Heidi (0x)
Ho-hum.
Not too many shake-ups in the overall team rankings, with the exception of Joe & Heidi's slide. This caused most of the scores to go up about the same across the board. The big differences in the wagers were in the "Louie/Michael vs Jet/Cord" wagers, really.
We started doing the (+1) game. It started relatively slowly, as no one (+1)'d a Louie/Michael wager. We did have a few people try it on Jet & Cord, but they didn't pan out.
The Greatest Gainer Award goes to both Snidget, whose double-up halved the overall ranking, gaining 13 ranks to #13 overall. Mathematical and effective!
The Perfect Bet Award also goes to Snidget, who was out lone All-In Louie/Michael bettor.

(+1) Question
Episode 6's preview shows a lot of tasks involving champagne. Are any of the racers going to drink any of the champagne this week during the leg? Yes or no?
Don't forget the (+1) bonus questions are going on. If you want more (+1)s to use, make sure to answer the question.
Bonus Game - It's PAT!
Ah, it's time for the yearly TAR Casino Game tradition, the PAT Bonus Game.
This week players may wager on which team they think will be the PAT of the week, or the Painfully Average Team. It's the team that finishes right smack in the middle of the pack, which would be 4th place this week.
This is a separate bet from your regular wager, and you may only wager on one team for the PAT Bonus Game. It's an All-Or-Nothing bet too. So, if the team you pick finishes 4th, you win... But if they place anywhere else, you lose the bet. All PAT bets will be subject to the following Payout Table.

Correct Answer - 7x
Incorrect Answer - 0x
Maximum Bet - 15 points
Oh, and you can choose the (+1) your PAT bet if you want. I don't know why you'd want to, but the option is there.
