The New York Times calls it: "Craptacular."Roger Ebert gives it “a middle finger up!" Leonard Maltin asserts it is "More exciting than watching paint dry." A leading TV critic says: “Two words. Bovine excrement". This is BlowsVivor, nominated for an unprecendented 15 Raspberries. The show that wafts of....something.
============================== In the next instalment:- Suddenly, it all goes black. "I'm blind!" Something wicked this way comes. "You were warned of the dire consequences...Now you pay the price." Tempers fray. "Let go of me!" Hell hath no fury than a woman's scorn. "Keep digging that grave for yourself". Coalitions are disbanded. "It's just not worth it." Nothing is sacred anymore. The questions:
Why is nobody interested in winning the reward challenge? Who are DAWs made to pay their respects to? What happened to Chicken #6 after its escape to freedom? A Blowsvivor is taken off somewhere. Where? When is it made clear to someone that another stands little chance of becoming the ultimate winner? How will the tribe members handle a potentially demeaning Immmunity challenge that requires brawn, brains, rhetoric and exposure? ===================================== Stay tuned. It's going to be a long one. Again.

Cool Austen reference. You rock AyaKCan't wait to read the next one GG, it sounds great I would spoil, but well, I suck at spoiling -------------------------------------- I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last for three days. Oh, I do love a good Jane Austen send-off. *Hopes one's in store* At any rate, I love the reviews and the teasers.>>How will the tribe members handle a potentially demeaning Immmunity challenge that requires brawn, brains, rhetoric and exposure? Now this sounds like an all-around challenge! I can't think of a single player with all those bases covered. The only one who's got brawn and brain is Dangerkitty. She has also shown some willingness to expose herself, but rhetoric? Not her thing. Sounds like someone who would stand on a soapbox would have the advantage there... *Thinking that ALL the brawn has been eliminated at this point except Ms. Martial Arts, unless RR has some military tricks up his sleeve. On the other hand, all 5 of the remaining players have brain* >>Who are DAWs made to pay their respects to? To follow AyaK's lead before all the titles have been taken: sounds like some Persuasion may be employed by the producers...(hopefully not in a Sopranos sense of the term)... *Looking forward to this keenly, with a certain sense of resigned trepidation--as my BV character will doubtless be put through some serious paces and demeaned on multiple levels*

Where are our Spoilers?!First off, it's obvious that it smells like ass EVERYWHERE (except for me, as I still have a good quantity of my Dr. Bronner's.) Obviously, Burnit has had some success with his new marketing ploy--reminiscent of the memorable Howard Castle 50's B movies ploys--wherein viewers are encouraged to experience BV in Sensurround--namely, making use of the TV Guide scratch & sniff inserts when prompted throughout the show. But is America really interested in experiencing SnoopySucks' farts, IceCat's morning breath, RudyRules' leaf-impaired toilet efforts, or the stench emanating from the retention pond? I think not! >Suddenly, it all goes black. Are we to assume this involves a challenge requiring blindfolds? >Something wicked this way comes. >"You were warned of the dire consequences...Now you pay the price." I suspect AyaP is extremely POed because we keep getting around his attempts to remove the recreational drugs from everything we do. . . Will he be played by Jason Robards this week? Or will it be that guy from the Infiniti commercials? (Aha! I'm betting on a Brit!) Line from the movie of the same name: "Dark promises. . .the fearful needs of the human heart." Is this relevant? or am I just adding to the confusion here? >Tempers fray. >"Let go of me!" We know that IceCat is the occasional object of lust amongst the BV ladies. . . Does DK finally push her luck? Or has everyone finally had it with SnoopySucks humping their legs? >Hell hath no fury than a woman's scorn. >"Keep digging that grave for yourself". Egad--have I finally lost my temper with the old codger? >Coalitions are disbanded. >"It's just not worth it." Or is this referring to RudyRules' short-lived "alliance" with Dangerkitty? Certainly, after he voted against her, she would have no reason to believe him again! >Nothing is sacred anymore. This could mean anything. Or nothing. >Why is nobody interested in winning the reward challenge? Ummmm. . . because it's something Lame-O? Because no one wants to be seen as too big a winner--and thus, worthy of being voted the hell out of there? >Who are DAWs made to pay their respects to? Could it be an appearance by the first--or biggest--whore of them all? And would that be Xaviera Hollander, or Shakes the Clown? >What happened to Chicken #6 after its escape to freedom? I would be willing to bet that aroma of fricassee wafting from AyaP's trailer might hold the answer to that one--I believe we saw telltale beach ball tracks in the tall grass, the next morning. . . >A Blowsvivor is taken off somewhere. Where? How can we tell if you won't show us vidcaps?!! Certainly, you're clever enough to hire a graphics whiz on your own! >When is it made clear to someone that another stands little chance of becoming the ultimate winner? Duhhh. . . could it be at TC? Someone with lots o' votes--or an angry outburst from the jury? >How will the tribe members handle a potentially demeaning Immmunity challenge that >requires brawn, brains, rhetoric and exposure? Hmmm. . . most of us are obviously up to the physical end, after making it this far in fine shape; likewise, brains are not in too short a supply; the women, at least, seem to have no problem speaking their minds; and I suspect ANY of us is ho' enough to resort to our birthday suits, if it means we'll stick around! And lastly, this one: >It's going to be a long one. >Again. I don't know about anyone else, but you'd better know this suits ME just fine. . . (Ooooh! I hope it involves "rolling" and "hay"!) GT

GT-- That was a noble effort at spoiling and I love it that you got a photo of the writer! Now I must burst your bubble yet again. When you said, >>Or is this referring to RudyRules' short-lived "alliance" with Dangerkitty? Certainly, after he voted against her, she would have no reason to believe him again!... I know it's hard to grasp that these people voted against YOU, so here's the episode tally to jog your memory (I know, had a bit of a lingering buzz on at the TC): >>And then during Surv's final words we find that OFG and GT voted for Surv in the first vote, RR and DK for GT (DK's said only "Geroge"), and IceCat and Surv for DK. The Ice/Surv coalition is already defunct, for obvious reasons, so it would have to be either OFG/GT or DK/RR (or some prior combo) that goes kaputt here. As for "it's just not worth it"--you know *I* think you're worth it, GT. But yes, DK and RR could definitely be a one-time alliance. As for: >It's going to be a long one. I have a feeling that the writers of Eps 3,7,7.5,8,9, and 10 have no objection to 11 surpassing them in length. Always good not to be stuck with "longest episode ever." (We'll leave that to the season finale.) As GG has a way with words, the more of 'em the better, I say!

LAST EDITED ON 08-14-01 AT 00:26 AM (EST)I am seriously going to try to spoil this one later in the week, right now all I want to point out is: >Something wicked this way comes. Ray Bradbury: The circus is in town. >What happened to Chicken #6 after >its escape to freedom? "Its?" Her, they were all clearly hens. And {sigh} like I've been saying for weeks now, you just can't write anyone out of this durned thing, can you. Will she now become {gasp!} Mojojojo Chicken!? >Stay tuned. >It's going to be a long >one. >Again. Excellent, bring it on, I long to see it! Edited to include: Do we know when DK is getting back from her next trip, are GG and DK coordinating things according to their mutual schedules? If not, I would suggest it might be smart if they did. "back from her next trip" LOL...that means a lot of things in this game!First: Great preview!! Vague yet meaningless. Intriguing yet unfulfilling. No, no, not at all, I am indeed pricking up my ears! To answer your question, dabo, I have emailed GG but we'll see if I have any info before I go. I may be able to check email while away. In any case, I have no fear. GG will not let me down, no he will not. And neither will I let any of you down, although the bar has been set impossibly high, so actually I am hoping that your expectations will lower a bit on their own. Hmmmm....well, I am leaving in just a few minutes here, so there is nothing to be done at the moment anyhow. All will work out fine.OFG, feel free to raid my closet while I'm gone! But if you wear my catsuits without any underwear, you'd better wash them before you give them back! I think GT has the hairbrush. She likes to brush IceCat's hair while he's asleep... (Speaking of email, OFG, did you ever get mine? I sent it regular mail, it got returned the first time but not the second time)

OKay, let's see if we can't break the code here. Three sections, three clues?Section one: What pops out? >The New York Times calls it: "Craptacular." >Roger Ebert gives it “a middle finger up!" >Leonard Maltin asserts it is "More exciting than watching paint dry." >A leading TV critic says: “Two words. Bovine excrement". >This is BlowsVivor, nominated for an unprecendented 15 Raspberries. The show that wafts of....something. I'm afraid to say, actually. Theme seems to be stench related, could this possibly be saying "Gone With the Wind" or perhaps "The Wind Done Gone" somehow? > Section two: Lord, what next! >In the next instalment:- >Suddenly, it all goes black. >"I'm blind!" >Something wicked this way comes. >"You were warned of the dire consequences...Now you pay the price." >Tempers fray. >"Let go of me!" >Hell hath no fury than a woman's scorn. >"Keep digging that grave for yourself". >Coalitions are disbanded. >"It's just not worth it." >Nothing is sacred anymore. > Hey, it's a rainbow, obviously it's either "The Wizard of Oz" or "Under the Rainbow" unless you can think of something else. Section Three: Can we put it together >The questions: >Why is nobody interested in winning the reward challenge? >Who are DAWs made to pay their respects to? >What happened to Chicken #6 after its escape to freedom? >A Blowsvivor is taken off somewhere. Where? >When is it made clear to someone that another stands little chance of becoming the ultimate winner? >How will the tribe members handle a potentially demeaning Immmunity challenge that requires brawn, brains, rhetoric and exposure? > Hm, it's the questions they used to teach in journalism classes way back once upon a time? "Citizen Kane" seems to stand out as the clew here, or perhaps "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" in that legendary vein. Okay, putting it all together: The Scarecrow in the foyer with the sled! Kewl! Oh rats, wrong game, sorry. "If the race of man should be left naked upon a desert island, we should become extinct in six weeks. A few individuals might linger, but in a year would become worse than monkeys." (Samuel Butler, "Erewhon")

Of course, I cannot say how close any of you have come, if at all. However, your efforts has injected a healthy dose of mirth into my day. The considerable bonus is how some of these observations may subconsciously worm their way into my writing of this episode. I have many a cunning plan, but there is still a bit more of unravelling left. DK, babe, welcome back. Alas, I, in fact, did not get your email for the reasons mentioned by OFG. Let you down? Perish the thought. Since I can send messages via SB, if not receive them, I will contact you tomorrow evening. GT, a delectable sig pic. I'm going to commandeer it, along with the Austin Powers one. It would be great if Icecat could tweak the size for me though and get rid of the writing etc. It may just have a profound effect on his character devlopment in Ep11--you never know. Or is that being too obsequious? I should also point out that my request for reduction in pic size has no comparative value to faulties of mine that would fall into said purview. Dabo, lol at your take on the teasers. For what it's worth, you can add Wind In the Willows,When Thw Wind Blows, and Windmills Of My Mind to section 1. For section 2, I proffer Rainbow Connection. The last part? How does War of The Worlds grab you? >It's going to be a long one. Think quality AND quantity. In both senses. ¬GG¬ *who'd like to see more spoiling. 26. "RE: ***BLOWSVIVOR EPISODE 11 Preview: "Nonsense and No Sensibility"" |
LAST EDITED ON 08-15-01 AT 11:53 AM (EST)Well, spoiling this promo is getting me nowhere, so let's look at things strategically and see what's up that way. Dangerkitty: Strategically DK is in a good place with the most remaining strong alliances, the AA alliance, the estrogen alliance, perhaps buddied with RR for the final two (OFG's speculation from confessional ep 10 act 1), and the feline factor. She is carrying the most votes but the prospect of a tie is low and a deadlock impossible with only five remaining, it's the final four vote she has to watch out for. Unfortunately, she has to recover from the overdose of brew or she might become susceptible to a sympathetic vote-off, kind of late in the game for that but anything is possible. George Tirebiter: Seems to have now securely positioned herself as OFG's wingman, not a winning strategy (ultimately failed Kelly, Rudy and Amber) but a good one, she needs to keep her eye out for an opportunity to take control if she hopes to win in the long run, but right now she seems to be relying on the estrogen alliance, having abandoned the BBs. Possible card up her sleeve, knows IceCat well enough to be able to smooth things over with him (and she apparently did follow his instructions in trying to get the AA votes during ep 10). IceCat: Stands alone now, basically, which means he's in the perfect position now to try to take control (smart), his vote could determine the whole thing in episode 11. Seems to have played out a strategy over the last two episodes to break the tribal alliances, and indeed they are broke. Pinning him down this time may be the ultimate guessing game, particularly if he wins immunity. Outfrontgirl: Shrewd but has a blind spot regarding herself, I mean a) she hasn't come to grips yet with the fact that her estrogen alliance may have been the motivating cause of Sleeeve's betrayal rather than RudyRules and Dangerkitty being secret buddies, and b) she's expecting RudyRules sympathy for her (for having found SnoopySucks) to be a factor in her favor (it might get her his vote from the jury but otherwise he's too realistic to allow it to be a factor in the game itself). She may have her work cut out for her this time just trying to maintain control of the board, but she is well protected in the strategic scheme of things. RudyRules: The luxury item strategy has kept him in the game but he's started trying to actively play, very smart not allowing himself to stay on one single strategy until it bogged down and left him on the outs. Considers GT and Ice the "enemy" and tried last time to get rid of GT, perhaps because he just regarded her buddying up with OFG too dangerous a play to allow. Has respect for "enemy" Ice as "good leader," possibly willing to team up with Ice because of that. Will protect Dangerkitty if he can, but ultimately understands that winning means willing to be ruthless if it comes to it. SnoopySucks: Everyone loves SnoopySucks! Well, phooey, I still don't know who to vote for. "If the race of man should be left naked upon a desert island, we should become extinct in six weeks. A few individuals might linger, but in a year would become worse than monkeys." (Samuel Butler, "Erewhon")
