Hoobie 569 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Reality Show Commentator" 05-26-06, 11:17 PM (EST) "Days of our Lives" Is getting pretty good. Some random thoughts: 1) Sami should make her own spin-off, "My Name is Sami" now that she's into the karma thing 2) Alex North is dead, and there's no resolution. John Black's best line of the year: "North went South" 3) Mimi will get her due, and Belle and Shawn will find out about Claire. It's only been a year, c'mon peeps. 4) My guess is that Abby will get pregnant right when Jack comes back 5) Patch and Kayla are on their way back to Salem. But I am still nitpicky. I am excited about Steve and Kayla The Jack and Jennifer storyline is tiresome. I wish they would give him something other than dying to do. I do like Frankie and hope he sticks around and gets a decent storyline. I am so tired of Marlena. This actress needs to retire. All she does is phone it in. Marlena's storyline is horrible as well. I never really liked her but she is intolerable now. John Black is wonderfully cheesy and hammy. I love Shawn and Mimi together. They are the brightest spot on this show. I will hate if Shawn and whiny Belle get back together. Bo & Hope? dragging this storyline out forever! I can't stand Belle. She is a carbon copy of Marlena. She would however make a great all out villianess. I hope they go this way with her. Carrie and Lucas? I may just throw up. I am liking that they are throwing in a new character into the whole Sami/Austin/Carrie/Lucas mix. And for once I want him to be attracted to Sami first, not Carrie. I hate Carrie and always have. Ultimately, I want Lucas and Sami back together. This week is the week we will see Patch and Kayla!!! Woo and a hoo!! Soaps are about families and relationships and love and bringing back veterans, like DOOL and GH are doing, are the perfect way to attract old viewers back. I hate Belle. And I think I know why. I don't think she can act very well. Or maybe they just aren't writing very well for her. Of course her love interest is a Real World veteran so that alone is a strike against her. I saw on another board a suggestion that they should make her an alcholoic and I seriously like that idea. I think it would fit. However, I would like to see another actress, maybe Robyn Richards, in that role. Stop shoving Frankie and Jennifer down my throat. I love Frankie and I love Jennifer. But I do not believe that she is going to become engaged to another man when they never found the body of the man she has loved most of her adult life. No wonder Melissa Reeves is threatening to leave. It was like putting Kayla and Shane together, it didn't work. I would like to see Frankie with Billie, but the actors may not like that as they used to be engaged and they broke up. They are lots of rumors that the head writer is getting fired nad Hogan Sheffer is getting hired. He was the head writer for As the World Turns a few years ago and they won like three Emmys for best soap and best writing. Hogan freaking rocks and if he joins DOOL, it will get better. However, I think they're trying to make Philip the alcoholic. Every scene he's in, he's drinking a beer, or asking for a beer -- and on Friday he was double fisting! I personally like Belle. I liked Kirsten Storms better, but Martha Madison really grew on me. I want Belle and Shawn back together. I hate Mimi. She and her mother are the comic relief characters that Calliope used to be (what, she did like a 2-day stint, and disappeared). I can't take Mimi seriously as a sexy new bride. I also want the Jennifer/ Frankie thing to stop. I have a heart made of stone, and even I cried when Jennifer was mourning Jack's death (the time when he was really on the island/ not this time, when he's really in a nearby hospital). Can't wait for Jack to make it back home. Sami is the best character by far. I met her at a book signing a few years ago. Especially the John Black/Roman thing. Let me try to explain. John came to town and everyone eventually thought he was Roman. Turns out he was wrong, he was Lawrence Alamain's brother, Forrest. But the Alaimains are bad people so he decided to stay with being John Black. Of course, he has also been other people along the way but he goes by John Black. Now the guy that used to play Chris Kosticheck back in the day now plays Roman. And the original Roman, who was played by Wayne Northup played Alex North who was a really bad guy who was Marlena's first husband that even she forgot about. She has died many a time and has come back many a time. She is still played by the same person, as well as Bo and Hope. Bo did leave and another actor did play him, but the original did come back. Jennifer is still being played by the original, however she left and also came back. During that time she was recast. Jack was a recast, but was really popular so you are probably thinking of the current Jack, Matthew Ashford. He has been let go a few times but is hugely popular with the fans and always comes back. Shawn grew up to become Shawn D, but has since become Shawn again. He romanced Belle, who is Marlena's and John's kid. Mimi is her best friend and Mimi is now married to Shawn. Belle is in a loveless marriage and is still in love with Shawn. She has a kid by Shawn, although neither one of them remember having sex with the other (it was a one time thing). Abby is Jack and Jennifer's kid who is like 18 but should be like 8. Carrie is Sami's half sister, I think her dad is Roman and her mother is Anna DiMera. She has been on the show for a long time, she was around during the Patch and Kayla and Jack and Jennifer time. However they aged her right, so she was young then. Regarding Shawn: I remember giggling all the time when people would call him ShawnD, and he would say "It's Just Shawn", so people started calling him JustShawn. I watch sometimes while I eat lunch when I work from home, often enough that I have a vague sense of the plot outline. I cannot stand the new Belle, probably for the same reason that somebody else already mention: she is a horrible actor, even by the standards of soap opera acting (and I'm not trying to slam all day time actors because many of them do a fine job). The strange aging of these characters always gets under my skin. How old is Bonnie supposed to be? How much of an age gap is there between Patrick and Mimi? It just seems strange that Bonnie, Patrick, and Mimi would all be of such an age that Mimi could marry Shawn (the two of them are supposedly the same age) yet Patrick is an appropriately-aged love interest for Hope, Shawn's mother --- yet Bonnie is supposedly a contemporary of Bo and Hope, despite her former interest in the much-older Mickey (or, at least, his money). Plus, doesn't Bonnie have other children that are younger than Mimi? I know that some families space them out, but this just defies belief. (Yeah, I know, when did I start looking for reality in daytime soaps...?) Re-casting is always fun! Do you remember that goofy little weiner who used to play Shawn D back when he was still Shawn instead of Shawn? I wonder what that goober looks like now. It was obvious that buck-toothed little varmint wasn't going to turn into a hottie so when they decided it was time for Shawn's teen angst and high school drama, well, bye bye weiner kid! Jack tells him about the Bradys and Kayla and his daughter and all the people that love him, including their mother. He convinces him to run a DNA test to prove that they are brothers. Patch does and it proves that they are. Jack, however won't go back and Patch makes a deal, I will go back if you will. So that is how both get back to Salem. There is a rumor going around that EJ is really Benji. I don't really remember Benji's origins, except he must have really been aged. ANyone know about Benji? He completely turned ATWT around and maybe we will get rid of some of the dead wood around there. I have heard from other boards that Phillip is leaving, Shawn is leaving and possibly Mimi. Shawn would be recast and eventually Phillip too. Hogan may trim the cast and add some new people to it. He is a huge fan of Hunt Block and I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt came to DOOL. Only problem is that Hunt is in long term relationship with Cady McClain who plays Dixie on AMC. AMC films on in NYC and DOOL in LA.
