"Found It! Aruba's: S44 E9 - How Long can this season Go?"
Don't want to scare you but you posted in SPOILERS !!! See you went there and survived!

Night 15
When Survivor was good, we wouldn’t even be at the halfway point; now with “New School” Survivor we are heading down the homestretch. Not sure anything at this point will keep this season from being ranked in the bottom five all-time.
We hear Laruen bellyaching over why they didn’t “split the votes.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but “BIG & ATHLETIC” Brandon was anti-darwined with four votes. Frannie got six. Since Frannie was the primary target, she was getting a minimum of four votes even if they split the votes and even if the extra vote was used.

And Lauren is an Elementary School teacher? I sure hope her students are at recess when she’s teaching math. And spare me the hypothetical spinarama verbal hogwash...if so-and-so who voted for BIG & ATHLETIC Brandon voted this way instead...or if this person had voted another way...yadda, yadda, yadda... Bottom line, Frannie was the primary target and Brandon was anti-darwined with four out of the ten votes.

Yam-Yam spits out some gobbledygook comparing himself to “James Bond.” Poor Sean Connery must be spinning in his grave (even more than the “spinning” from some posters on this Board.) Especially from a player who, quite frankly, has done jack sh!t in terms of making any power moves. Truth be told – Yam-Yam (along with the other Tikas – Carson & Carolyn) stumbled their way into a middleman position by essentially SUCKING in challenges.

To pass time, everyone is engaging in some type of silly word game. Several episodes ago, back at NuTika, Yam-Yam, Carolyn and Josh played a word game of their own with no one understanding what the heck was going on when Carolyn intervened. At Va Va, we have different players but the same result – no one knew WTF Carolyn was trying to say.

Kane and Danny frantically go looking for idols.

Jaime STILL believes she has a real idol. At merge when information was shared, even Matt (who’s not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed) realized he probably had a fake. But not dim-witted Jaime. Should we be surprised with the idiots casted for “New School” Survivor? Oh, that’s right, “casting” is Production’s “strongest department.” * snort *

Pretty soon everyone goes on an II scavenger hunt. In the end, Heidi grabs the “brass rink” and finds the II that can be used up to five players remaining in the game.

Carolyn shares her prior drug addiction and current sobriety with the other castaways. It’s a compelling subject where she stands to gain a fair amount of milage from it (be it by chance or design.) Frannie is compelled when she shares in a confessional that she can learn a lot from Carolyn’s experience. PSST...Frannie, I can summarize what you can “learn from Carolyn” in three short words...DON’T DO DRUGS.

CHALLENGE TIME

Prior to the challenge (back at camp Va Va) the players were advised they could pass up the opportunity to compete for immunity in exchange for food (rice.)

When the final nine march in for the challenge, Jeff tells them four must sit out to get the rice. Soka’s former spokesperson Heidi assumes her new role as “Negotiator” desperately trying to get four to volunteer. Since no puzzle is involved, Carson sits out. Lauren and Kane follow making it three. Even though Kane feels vulnerable, he realized he has as much chance winning that challenge as Yam-Yam has engaging in a showmance with a female castaway.

Speaking of Yam-Yam, does he or ESPCIALLY CAROLYN think they have any shot at winning immunity? Whereas I applaud the competitiveness, they pass up needed food so they could further emphasize their pathetic ineptness?? Heidi decides to take one for the team (a decision probably made easier by the fact she has an II) by being the fourth to sit out for rice.

So Danny, Jaime, Yam-Yam, Carolyn, and Frannie are competing for immunity. HMMM, wonder who will be the first to drop??? DUH!!! We’ve had embarrassing challenge-competing joke shows casted for Survivor, but Carolyn pretty much takes the cake. Gosh, does she FRIGGIN’ SUCK. Her ineptness thus far has all but guaranteed her a seat at FTC; do we really need continued confirmation?

The challenge comes down to a two-person standoff between Frannie and Danny, Frannie wins her second individual immunity! Well done!! She tells us how proud she is winning her second challenge against “the biggest guys.” I acknowledge her pride, but I didn’t see any “big” guys in this challenge. The biggest guy (BIG & ATHLETIC Brandon) was anti-darwined at last TC and the only “big guy” left was Kane who didn’t compete and would understandably suck in any challenge involving a balancing act as practically all “big guys” would.

Back at camp, discussion ensues over who to target. Heidi, who successfully targeted and eliminated BIG & ATHLETIC Brandon last episode has her sights on another (and I quote the PLAYER) “BIG" guy in Kane. It’s nuts how consumed some players are with the ADS, they fail to realize size, strength, and physicality are NOT advantageous to balancing acts and/or “damn friggin’ puzzles.” Proof positive PERCEPTION trumps over REALITY.

We even hear Laruen chime in targeting Danny because he is (and I quote ANOTHER PLAYER) “strong and physical.” This is NOT Aruba’s words...THESE ARE THE PLAYERS’ WORDS. We did NOT hear her say she was targeting Danny because he is dumb (which he is,) or cocky (which he is,) or thinks he’s running the game (which he’s not; ) it’s because he’s “strong and physical.” The same reason Heidi targets a player for being “big & athletic” or COUNTLESS other players in prior seasons citing similar metaphors to support the ADS.

Sadly, the only player with half-a-brain who realizes Tika is getting a free ride is Frannie. Kudos to her! She tried to convince her ally Danny that Tika is the beneficiary of Soka vs. Ratu, but Danny is too thick-headed to acknowledge this gift bestowed upon Tika. I wish Frannie pushed a little harder, but I suppose I can understand her backing off considering Danny single-handedly saved her ##### at last TC.

TRIBAL COUNCIL

It appears as if “Big” Kane and “Strong & Physical” Danny are the prime candidates. Once again, not MY words; the PLAYERS words.

Danny, who gave “scout’s honor” the players who did not participate in the challenge so the tribe could obtain rice would not be voted out, announces to Jeff, “he’s NOT a scout.” Translation – He is a lying sack of sh!t which is the shameful prototype Production focuses on when casting for “New School” Survivor.

Enough indecision over who to vote out results in another “New School” Survivor scenario with more sidebars than we saw during the OJ Simpson trial. A pathetically obnoxious allowance that probably has Probst wetting his pants with excitement.

Most likely due to the idols and advantages floating around, a total of four different names are read when the votes were tallied. When Danny’s name came up, he gives a shocked look of disbelief as if to say, “Who me?” Yeah. YOU dipwad. Ultimately, “Big” Kane (who pretty much was a waste of space this season) gets his torch snuffed. For the SECOND TC in a row, Heidi’s initial target got the boot.

Next Time on Survivor

Heidi hints at blindsiding her ally, Danny.

The Three Stooges continue their delusional ignorance that their good fortune has been the result of solid gameplay.

The most obvious statement is uttered by the simplest of minds when Carolyn says everyone in the game is “stupid.” Credit Production for that...

LAST EDITED ON 04-28-23 AT 04:11 PM (EST)

It feels weird replying to my post but it is evident those weren't MY words.

You really are going down swinging with that spposed ADS, aren't you Aruba?!!

It's not because one is big and strong that their elimination is a proof that the game goes against Darwin's theory. If Survival was based on big and strong then you'd be hiding from DINOSAURS right now. Big and strong is ALWAYS beaten by intelligence and you cannot tell me that Brandon and Kane were the smartest even in this bunch of ordinary people.

You see, I like the new Survivor. I think that the 4 seasons after Covid have been the best seasons since « One World » the last time production tried something interesting before the pandemic. Of course, they aren't on par with Burnett's first 12 seasons but they are fast paced so easier to digest.

Lying is part of Survivor. The best players lie or hide the truth to be able to strategize.

They aren't MY words either. They're the PLAYERS words. Those are the reasons given by players in the game targeting those who are eliminated...not MY reasons. I'm merely assessing what actually occurred.

It's a moot point to include "intelligence" in any Survivor discussion. As a result of Production's debacles with New Survivor casting, "intelligence" and Survivor go together like "diarrhea and being stuck in an elevator." Shamefully sad, but true.

I agree that pretty much everyone Production casts for the show are lying sacks of sh!ts. The reason they lie is to self-protect or defend themselves from their deficiencies. And boy, oh boy, do we have an overabundance of deficiencies among those casted.

Players word that you reinterpret. Josh is a doctor and Carson is a NASA engineering Student so you.re saying they aren't intelligent? Shame on you or judging people this badly.

- Danny is a NYC firefighter which should get some recognition.
- Frannie graduated in Psycholiogy from the University of Minnesota and is a research coordinator.
- Matt was a security software engineer.
- Yam yam owns his own business
- Heidi is an engineering supervisor

I could go on but it's evident that these ORDINARY AMERICANS have done well in life and, with 1 doctor and 3 engineers in this small sample, are above average intelligence. It's the show that puts in their contract that they can make them look dumb. If I had 24/7 filming on you, I am sure I could cut and splice enough material to make you look crazy.

As for lying, they don't cast people who are liars in real life. The game favors lying and they are smart enough to take advantage of it. Yes, you keep pushing Tom Westman and while we disagree on his lies, you have to admit that by winning every tribal immunity and most individual immunities, Tom had very little strategy to deploy. When he came back he stupidly tried to duplicate his first run but the losses showed his inability to maneuver without lying.

I REEEEALY didn’t think I needed to spell it out for you (since we’re on a SURVIVOR message board.) Apparent I must, so let me take you by the hand and walk you down the path of my explanation...

Lack of intelligence, stupidity, idiotic and other synonymous words appropriately used in the BASHER Forum have absolutely nothing to be with “book smarts,” or college degrees that every Tom, Dick, Harry and Jane earn these days (as long as you’re not delinquent with the tuition payments every semester.)

Some of the most highly degreed individuals I’ve come across in my life have been among the densest of dim-witted boobs—the type of individual Production probably salivates over. The only players this season who have shown flashes of game smarts are Carson and Frannie.

And how do these dingbats compensate for their shortcomings? Yep; that’s right...they resort to lying sacks of sh!t. To respond, “everyone does it,” is the kind of lame rebuttal I’d expect to hear from a preschooler confronted by their parents when caught doing something inappropriate. If ticketed for speeding on the highway, try getting off by appealing to the judge, “Golly Gee your Honor, sure I was speeding...but so was everyone else...”

Westman employed plenty of strategy winning S10. He had zero chance winning as a returnee as the most perfect winner in Survivor history who never had to initiate lies because he had no shortcomings to mask.

So even engineers are ordinary people so we're back to what I stated: Survivor casts ordinary people and then use the scenes they like to make them look dumb which continually seems to amuse you.

Danny has shown some game smarts, Heidi has shown some game smarts even if she should have voted against Lauren, Carolyn has shown some game smarts even Yam Yam has shown some game smarts. No why? Because Survivor is a very simple game. EVERYONE knows how to play it by now. It's the execution that is often deficient. Carolyn's game has been nicely executed up to now.

By the way, did you notice that she got the famous « Helicopter Shot » when she stood atop the big rock? Those aerial shots often point to the winner.

No, when your tribe wins all the immunities, you don't have to strategize. When you win 3/4 of the individual immunities, you don't have to strategize. You simply pick and choose between the offers that are presented to you. And before you say he worked hard for those immunities, I'll remind you that he sat on the Sandra bench for the last 3 Tribal Immunity Challenges. They even wanted to throw the last Immunity to boot Coby and save both BJ and Steph who they felt more deserrving but even then dumbass Steph and BJ couldn't beat Coby who won that last challenge by himself.

You must be close to someone who’s an engineer to focus on that profession. For the umpteenth time, I don’t care what degree(s) someone possesses or their occupation. In the context of the game of SURVIVOR (more specifically “new school”) a vast majority casted are blooming idiots.

I also will never regard “turning on the windshield wipers when it rains,” or “putting on the headlights for nighttime driving” as measures of intelligence. Yet, to mention those in your reply as examples of game smarts, apparently, they must be measures for you. For the record, to state “the best way to not find an II is to NOT look for one,” qualifies as “turning on the headlights at night” in my book.

A perfect example of game smarts was exhibited by Frannie last episode warning how Tika is getting a free ride. The mere fact NO ONE ELSE could see the obvious (not to mention acknowledging that fact even though Frannie opened their eyes to it) crystallizes sheer stupidity among your so-called “ordinary” cast. Listen, we can go back and forth on this one. How about we wait until Finale Night. If all three Tikas advance to the Finale because the players were incapable of wrapping their dense noggins around Frannie’s straight-forward logic, then ALL RISE; CASE DISMISSED! Of course, if the opposite occurs and the Tikas are the next three booted, then I’ll be eating crow in a few weeks. Time will tell...

Had Heidi instructed Jaime to vote Lauren, we would have seen commotion at TC. But it would have paled by comparison to the commotion back at camp toward Heidi. Why the hell would Heidi be willing to put that on herself when she was/is quite satisfied in her current position? And this was stated BY HEIDI HERSELF. And you, no doubt, refuse to acknowledge Lauren and Yam-Yam’s conversation immediately after that TC indicating Matt was a goner because it does not support your narrative. And that was stated by LAUREN HERSELF.

As for the helicopter shot of Carolyn...perhaps Production wanted to showcase her plastic boobies. You just KNOW I couldn't resist that Ep. 9 parting shot. I believe Yam-Yam was on that rock formation as well.

In S10, after Koror proceeded to consistently beat the snot out of So Long (mostly due to Westman’s dominance) why wouldn’t the superstar Westman take a seat on the bench. You follow sports enough to know when an opponent is getting decimated, the stars sit and the non-stars mop up. The “Sandra Sit-Out Bench” is appropriately referenced for the weak links or those too pathetically inept to compete in challenges so they may be carried by the more competent Survivors. For you to spin this as an opportunity to bash Westman taking a well-deserved seat after the advantage he provided for Koror is...well...your quintessential Michel Spin!

I agree an ulterior motive existed for Westman to delegate the challenge to Coby. Wanting to eliminate Coby was jury management strategy on Westman’s part. There’s NOOOOO way someone like Coby would ever vote for someone like Westman as the winner for obvious reason. Westman was keenly aware of that. Westman preferred Steph and BJ because he believed he earned the respect of both given his outstanding performance and that would translate to jury votes at FTC. The F2 could have been Westman and Saddam Hussein’s dead corpse propped up next to him and Coby would STILL not vote for Westman for obvious reason. I’m sure we’ll be entertained to more spin as to how you want to interpret “obvious” here. I had to “hold your hand” and “spell out” what I meant by “intelligence;” I will NOT do it again to explain “obvious.”

I could submit a record length post on all the strategy Westman employed in Palau, but we’re ready to embark on another episode. To be continued on the Ep. 10 thread (and this time I will make sure I’m in the right forum.) LOL!

THANK YOU MICHEL!

Spoilers???

Perhaps I may have inadvertently clicked the "Spoilers" Forum instead of "Bashers," and I guess I created the post from there?

After I finished typing the text and clicked the submit post button, I got that annoying "wheel of death" that keep spinning around and around in the middle of my screen. After about a minute, it knocked me out of the site.

When I went to log back in, I naturally clicked the "Bashers" Forum and that's why I did not see it never thinking it was in another Forum.

Anyway, THANKS again!
OH, I guess the reason I "survived" is because I didn't read anything never realizing where I was.

Or maybe the reason it acted up on me to begin with was because I was somewhere I didn't belong. LOL

Yes, that's exactly what happened. It was your regular post in a new neighbourhood. Thankfully, no one had a rifle or a shotgun to do what some people have been doing lately to people who go to the wrong address!

I've invited you often to Spoilers and I think you'd like it. We are down to only 3 regular posters there too which is a shame but Sheldor does a great job assembling the different promos that pop up over the week end. He adds the press images taken during the time span of the episode and some interviews.

Flower Power tries to make sense of everything and does the Eastern Spoiler thread which is nothing more than the play-by-play of the episode as it airs. We call it that to warn west coast posters not to enter unless they WANT to know what they will be seeing 3 hours later. FP also opens a voting thread a little before showtime so that we can post who we're thinking is going. Our record is very average! Maybe you can change that.

I chirp in time to time.

OK, using her eagles eyes, FP was able to notice that a blurred picture actually was showing Lauren wearing the immunity necklace on her way to TC but that was a rare true spoiler. The rest is all speculation.
