"Mon Cherie's Cornertime with Kismet"
Posted by Kismet on 08-01-01 at 11:33 PM

Mon Cherie's Cornertime

<Standard cornertime set up shot. An arial view shows an incredibly busy cornertime area. It zoom's in to Buggy's corner and we see that she and Samiam are singing a duet. It sounds like a chopped up version of a similar Sound Of Music song, entitled. "How do you solve a problem like Mon Cherie?" It quickly pans over to Mon Cherie standing in the corner. Her timer reads 01:35:56.>

Welcome to another episode of cornertime. Today we are pleased to have none other than Mon Cherie. MC has been a member of this board for longer than most of you think. She is a sweet, wonderful addition to our community and we are lucky to have her with us.

<Kismet and MC take their seats.>

Thank you for the interview Mon Cherie. Why are you in the Corner today and who sent you here?

Ebug and Sami sent me here for singing "Do Re Mi" one time too many. Do- a deer, a female deer...

<Kismet lets her sing the entire song and then removes thirty minutes from the clock.>

I Love putting songs into people's heads MC. It seems to me that you were wrongly incarcerated. However, I want you to have enough time to be forced to complete the interview. Let's move on, so that we can get you back to the bar quickly.. How did you find this place and why did you stay?

As with most people here, I came over from SS, though I first came over to bash SB (hard to believe now), and posted some mean things under other names. Then I found myself in between jobs and was battling depression. My first chat was with Ebug, she was very nice and welcoming. I also chatted with Vamps, and I realized that I hadn't even really given SB a chance. I lurked for awhile, not posting, then I ended up in Temptation Island chat one night and had a great time. Between that and my chats with Buggy and Vamps, I found myself here more than at the "other place". I started coming to chat regularly when BV began, and have made good friends here. I love SB, there is never a dull moment, and everyone is great! It amazes me how most everyone gets along and respects each other, there's no arguing about politics and religion, and no whining like at SS.

<Kismet coughs repeatedly to cover her laughter.>

Nope, we never have any of that here. Let's move on to the toughie. Who are your favorite posters and why?

Every poster here contributes something unique to the boards. Buggy has a special place in my heart, she is the best official greeter here! I love watching Supe and Sir making Top Ten Lists in chat. Vamp pretty much keeps our happy community together, she is here pretty much night and day to offer coffee and advice! SirErist is great, he is so mature for his age and dispenses great wisdom. Moonbaby always cracks me up in chat- she has me on permanent ROFL when we're in there. Kis, of course, you keep us up to date on the goings-on of the board and have found a great way for us to get to know each other better. OFG, we share a love of good books. I feel like I'm accepting an award here and I'm afraid to leave anyone out! Ayms, Sami, Koko, Jizzy, Rio, Roni, the Lisas, Sleeeve, Sherps, DangerKitty, GT, JV, Tinkerbell, Lady T, Dabo, Pendragon, Webby, everyone in chat dispels wit and wisdom. Peter Torque and True are great new additions. And of course Monkey, he keeps the bar hopping!

Where did the nickname Mon Cherie come from?

When I first came here, my usual nickname was already taken, which was the source of my bad attitude when I first came here. So I chose the next best thing, Mon Cherie, taken from my real name, given by my father who spent time in France in the Air Police.

I am a renown chocolate lover. Do you like Mon Cherie candies?

I love Mon Cherie candies! I buy them for my dad and mom, kind of a sentimental thing with us. Very (hazel)nutty!

You were one of the most complicated characters in BlowsVivor. How do you differ from your BV counterpart? Do you
like the way you were portrayed?

Actually, the BV character would have been me in my early 20's. Personally, I have become more conservative in most ways since then. My faith is very important to me, though I still have many things to work on in that area of my life. I do not preach or judge others, that is not my place. Every individual has their own opinions about God and religion, and should be respected. I didn't have a problem with my BV character. I didn't want to be portrayed as a hypocrite, and though things got close a couple of times, it didn't cross the line. It was very funny, I was surprised I made it past the first episode!

So are you a tart?

Am I a tart? of course, I am a cherry pop tart, but I had NOTHING to do with that lady's house burning down!

You are single and you excel at flirting. Would you ever date anyone you met online?

Me? A flirt? <MC begins batting her eyelashes and speaking in a Southern drawl.>I have actually dated someone I met online before, we had a good relationship, but he got transferred to another job a few states away when our relationship was still in the early stages. We stayed friends, but lost touch, now I think he's married. I've become hesitant about repeating that again, though. It is easy to be honest and develop a good relationship online, but then again there are people who portray themselves dishonestly. Of course, this happens in real life as well. I have to actually be around someone for awhile before I make any decisions about dating them.

Could you tell us more about yourself.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I went to college in central Florida, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I moved back to Jacksonville afterwards. My parents live here, as well as my brother and his family. I have a niece and nephew who I adore very much. I missed out on most of my niece's first few years when I was in college, so I really love being around to watch her and her brother grow up. The only pet I have is my dog, who lives with my mom and dad. I've had him since I was about 14 years old.

You are a social worker. Do you like what you do?

Currently, I work in a program called Supported Living. It basically helps higher-functioning mentally retarded people to live as "normal" a life as possible. They have their own apartments and jobs. I assist them in keeping up with their medical and
financial issues, as well as training with them to learn things that help them function more independently. I like my job, the people I work with are great. However, my goal is to go back to school and get my Masters in Counseling to work with troubled youth, which is what most of my past work experience has been focused on.

I wish you my heartfelt good luck with that. We definitely need more good hearted people working with out young people today. If you could pick up and move anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

I would live in New York for a year or two, then move back to Florida but further south, maybe the Keys. New York, because I love the action up there and my best friends from college live up there, and I can get my hair done for free. The Keys, because I would like to end up someplace relaxed on the beach.

We are almost finished here. Is there anything else you want us to know?

My favorite color is red; I love to read (mostly mysteries and real-life adventures); my favorite food is sushi; I swim, jog, and kickbox (not at the same time!); I play piano, guitar, and sing; I make a lot of crafts; Currently I'm painting a box of children's blocks for my friend who is expecting a baby in September.

Thank you for the interview Mon Cheri. You are free to go. Please continue to make people sing songs in their heads. It's a wonderful way to pass the day.

<Mon Cherie leaves quickly, heading towards the bar. Kismet snickers and faces the camera.>

Please stay tuned for a new edition of cornertime coming soon.
