Hmmmm.....from the way Tim was talking he seemed to be more excited over Santino's line then Chloe's and Dan's, especially Dan's. I kind of felt bad for Dan because he was so disappointed about Tim's lack of reaction towards his line, but seriously does anyone else like those handbags. In my opinion, the actual bag is cute but the handles are so big and gaudy it's ridiculous, my arm would get tired from carrying that around all day.Chloe really seemed to put off a lot of the work till the last minute. Does anyone really think that Chloe doesn't do sketches or was that just an excuse for Tim instead of coming out and saying she had nothing? It's no wonder she was so extremely overwhelmed by the time she got to New York, she should have done herself justice and got to work right away at home. Santino came off as the beaten down horse, at least to me. He really did seem to be far more humble and he also seemed to be disappointed with his behavior and commentary on the show. I can understand the other designers being offended and upset about Santino's comments but Chloe and Daniel seemed to just want to dismiss him rather than give him a chance to apologize. Towards the end of the show it did seem that they weren't as offhandish to Santino so I'm guessing they have either resolved differences or have given way to the Nick approach. I'm also elated to see Nick and Andrae back on the show even if it is to be assistants, it's still great. My prediction for the winner of this season is Santino. Santino seems to have been given the villian who over does it angle in the show to the humbled guy who is making really nice clothes while Daniel and Chloe are being more viewed as not knowing what to do and just not having their crap together.

You know I hate to admit it, but I think I'm softening towards Santino. Having seen Project Jay (although not Season 1 yet), he's more like Jay then I would have suspected. Both have very strong personalities and out there designs. Probably what they need to make a successful go at it too. I would imagine that Santino didn't realize how his over the top personality would be edited. We saw a bit of his softer side at the beginning of the series. But I think that once he said "They just didn't want to give it to me twice", referring to Chloe's win for the COYB challenge...the producers knew they had someone they could edit as the villian. So for several episodes we got the nasty side of Santino...but towards the end there have been more lighter sides (TimPressions, etc). That aside, I was pleasantly surprised by Santino's designs. Once on his own, he seems more inclined to edite himself with all the layering, ruching, gathering and general whickety whack trim. He did seem burned out by the end of the episode and perhaps Andrae will be able to give him a bit of spark to revive him. Chloe has underwhelmed me this time. What is up with her lack of anything substantial to show for her efforts? No sketches, no ideas, no theme, nothing. What was she thinking? I'm disappointed because her designs have been among my favorites so far and I hate to see her put together a lackluster collection at this point. Oh and I can't believe she choose Diana! She needed someone with good construction skills and Diana may have innovative ideas but she doesn't have the skillset to engineer them. Granted that she was the last to pick from but jeez, pick someone who can sew well and quickly. And so on to Daniel. I expected him to pick Andrae considering how well they had worked to gether in the past. But I think he realized that Nick is probably one of the best stitchers and fitters of the group and would be excellent in a pinch. The pieces he showed Tim earlier in the show were promisng. But I understand Tim's reticence at vocalizng anything further on. The handbags are an interesting concept but are much too big and do look too homemade for the Fashion Week runway. The first dress that he had his model try on fit her horribly across the bust line and made her look very mannish. Not a good match for her strong features. All in all, I'm looking forward to next week to see what it brings. I did look at their final runway designs once when they were first released online. But I haven't gone back and studied them intently...I'm more interested in seeing how their collections play out on screen then speculating at this point. slice slice baby!

I loved what I saw of Santino's collection. Daniel and Chloe's both looked amateur in comparison.....and what was up with Daniel's handbag?? Tim was right, it looked like something straight out of a woodcarvers studio. Daniels youth and inexperience can't compare to Santino's experience and it definitely showed up there with his emphasis on a silly looking handbag. Also, what was Chloe thinking??? No sketches to show Tim, no plan? lol...come on. And that she chose Diana as her helper (to bug Santino, no doubt) shows me she really didn't have the passion, desire or focus needed to ultimately win. Bar any freaky disasters I expect Santino will wow them all with his collection.

LAST EDITED ON 03-03-06 AT 11:26 AM (EST)That Santino dress totally disarmed me, just as it did Tim. I hope he wins. On the other hand, Daniel may have looked like such a "lock" for the win going into the finale that they are editing for suspense. Just because it looks grim for him in Finale Part 1 doesn't mean he won't pull it off in Part Dieux. His stuff pretty much looked like generic Banana Repub togs - a minus for me, but perhaps a plus for the producers. I was really bored by his collection and I HATED those bags. Chloe just isn't going to win. She doesn't really want to design full time. That poofy poofy jacket is pretty icky, too. Still, I love the Tim Visits Home sequences. (What a class act he is ... I love the respectful, nonpatronizing way he bonds with the various families of the contestants). I loved seeing Jay at home last year, and this year we got the Seven Sisters (or was it 8? 9?) and heard about Chloe's family leaving Laos, and Santino's redemptive (but, I think sincere), open-faced approach to his own weaknesses, his financial difficulties, his friend's family, and Daniel's cute, accepting home (Daniel is SO VERY YOUNG). I just go "Awwww!" through all of that stuff. I am not wild about the additional Final Outfit. I don't really need to see that much more of the other contestants, and I'd rather the three were allowed to focus on perfecting their collections. WHY did Chloe choose Diane?

Does anyone want to hypothesize on which outfit was created with the help of the new "assistant"? Might be fun. We can eliminate the obvious ones we saw the designers showing in last episode. For Santino’s collection, I'm thinking either the short lilac dress with the jacket (Andrae mentioned adding a jacket), or the fugly black poufy pleather-topped number, because it looks out of place. For Chloe, I’m thinking the black lace cowlneck outfit. Again, very different from the rest of the collection. (Upon further review, I really love the print and fit on her long dresses.) For Daniel’s collection, I really can’t make a guess. Maybe the satin-trimmed cashmere wrap sweater? I saw Daniel and Nick trying to match their cream cashmere at the fabric store. Anyone have other thoughts? http://www.newyorkmetro.com/fashion/fashionshows/designers/bios/projectrunwaydesigners/

Well,I love the show but right now i am not sure who is going to win!!I would like to see Daniel win cause he is the most talented of the three.Santino is a little too wild for my taste, but that is my own opinion.Chloe seems bored!!!I really don't think she cares if she wins or not!!!I watched the reunion show and halfway through it i really got bored. Santino will probably win cause i think people will feel sorry for him cause of the rough road he has had to take.I still want Daniel to win cause i think he will be very successful with his talent. It is a shame you couldn't have more than one winner. But look at some of the other reality tv shows.Alot of times the runner ups do better than the winners!!!!Clay Aiken has had more success than Rueben!!!!

The final three did a short catwalk of their best designs from the season on THE VIEW today.Santino's Niki Hilton dress looked liked it had been altered sligltly, and it was beautiful. Chloe's "clothes off your back" dress was cool, and daniel's orchid creation was a work of art. I was proud of all of them, particularly because Santino had appeared to humble himself in the last episode, after watching his behavior throughout the season. But on The View, he really didn't appear apologetic or humbled by his snarkiness. While I admire his spirit, his meaness has alienated himself from his true self, which is an insecure, self-doubting tortued soul. I feel sorry for him that he builds these walls. He doesn't regret his words now the way he did in the one-on-one meeting with Tim in California. A little humility would have gone a long way. That said, I have had an opportunity to look at the photos of the clothes in the last episode (hope thhis isn't a spoiler, 'cause it's just my humble opinion), but I think he might just win it, particularly because he was the most prepared...

The link below has links to interviews the final 3 did with TV Guide. msnbc.com also has a short clip from the finale tonight.http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/project_runway_2/2006_Mar_08_runway_finale_chef_debut TV Guide talks to the three finalists; Chloe says the designers were forced to tape the reunion immediately after learning that they had to construct an additional piece; Daniel says that Tim Gunn gave the same skeptical reaction to all three designers but only his was shown; and Santino says the designers weren’t allowed to hook up, or else “that would have been my Plan A, to have sex with everyone.” I thought it was mean making them do the extra piece for the show, but then dragging them off to a reunion is horrible. Maybe that explains Chloe's tears at the reunion. Geez, Daniel still hasn't gotten over Tim's reaction. He's sounding kind of petty. If the others got the same reaction from Tim, they didn't seem as affected by it. I'm sure many of them were happy Santino didn't get to use plan A. I've been pulling for Santino all season. Sure hope he wins this. He deserves it.

I felt bad for the designers when they were told they'd have to design a 13th piece -- but that's even worse if they had the "reunion" taped right afterwards. That's a lot of work & stress.I am still going with my prediction that Santino wins it -- as soon as I saw his Fashion Week collection, which I thought was beautiful, I knew he had it in the bag. Daniel was strong all season, but a bit boring. His collection has some good pieces, but a few that are really blah. Chloe's collection is hideous, IMHO. I like Santino's description of a giant couch coming at you. Did anybody really look back at what we wore in the '80s and say, let's do it again? Besides, Chloe doesn't want it. I can't wait to finally see the finale and see what the irritating judges have to say. This season, the judges are really on my nerves BIG TIME. If I hear the word vulger used one more time . . . I miss Nick
