Don't you think Iyanla would be well advised to get a fashion makeover?those outfits are really something, she had a clown outfit on the first day with couples and today with the new girls was a close second. they give the girls makeovers, why not her?

I wouldn't be caught dead in some of Iyanlas outfits, BUT...Iyanla is no average Joe-sette. She is bigger than life. I love her and everything about her is bold and loud and filled with excitement. She screams guts and glory. Can you see her in a little sweater set with some nice little gold loop earrings, a pair of khakis and sensible shoes. NOT Her clothes suit her. They are unique, just like her.

I remember a zebra-print blazer where the stripes were not matched at the back seam. We RV clowns have high standards. I edited this to add that I like Andy, I think she would be a great life coach.

Hmm but IV and Rhonda are the ones who say 'dress for success' and put an emphasis on the physical appearance of the HG's. I really think the outfits she wore in the Couples SO were ugly and not complimentary to her physical appearance. She was in that Clown Outfit and turned to walk away and her *ss looked like the size of an RV!Practice what you preach or stop telling other people how to dress. JMO.

hmm.......your reference to one 'clown outfit' that she wore on one particular day...does not mean she needs and entire wardrobe change. We all sometimes wear an outfit that may not be as flattering to us as another outfit, and besides...IMO, she is alredy sucessful!!....In any event I have emailed her and asked her NOT to wear the clown outfit again, ....clowns are just not as big as they used to be...'tears of a clown'...

Pretty much her entire wardrobe for the Couples SO house I did not like. I was happier to see her in something like she wore yesterday for the WO house. And I haven't much cared for Rhonda's outfits either - they look Soccer-mom to me and not professional. The little sweater top with the tie in front yuck. I wish also she hadn't overplucked her eyebrows. I do like her glasses.

As a graduate with a fashion merchandising degree, I can say that Rhonda dresses fabulously, though sometimes goes with some strange hairstyles that don't necessarially complement her face. I have met her twice and both times she has looked beautiful.... I love her hair flat ironed! As for Iyanla... her style works for her and though some of her outfilts have been quite unusal, she can pull it off... Iyanla is cool, and she couldn't care any less what ANYONE thinks of what she wears. John

LAST EDITED ON 10-09-05 AT 10:32 PM (EST)You missed the point -- IV and Rhonda DO judge others by what they wear. That IS the point. So isn't it hypocritical to wear ugly and unprofessional clothes when you are in a mentoring relationship on telling other people how to "dress for success?" Would YOU believe someone going on and on about your clothes when you are facing other issues such as sexual abuse, rape, chemical dependency, cancer etc??? Hmm I guess I'm just strange that I see a problem with that.

But the point is who is IV to tell Karen how to dress?
So what if Karen dresses as she does? Some here are upset that others don't like how IV dresses and says we shouldn't judge YET IV is doing just that: Judging others on how they dress.
Who is IV to say what is right ot wrong? Who is anyone to say what colors go together? Tell it to those fashion designers who make plenty of money off of putting different colours and materials together and sell them for thousands of dollars. Then end point is:
NO one should be judging someone on what one wears. Everyon ahs their own styles....Rhonda, IV, housemates, and us the viewers.

Do I hear IV bashing again? And anger toward fashion designers because they make "the almighty buck" IV addressed Karens "look" because it was sending a message that Karen did not want to send. She just did not believe it until Iv gave her an assignment(asking strangers what they thought of her look) that reflected what Iv pointed out to her. What gives Iv the "right" is that Karen signed on to be there and take the advice of her LC.

Iyanla has worn some normal clothes last season, and she looked way better. I think dressing according to your personality is great, but you still have to look somewhat sensible if you want to be taken seriously. Especially if you're giving advice to other people. Iyanla's character has gotten a bit more outrageous this season, and so have her clothes.

Just an observation here, but if I were IV, I would make sure that the camera would NEVER show me walking off anymore, from behind-this is not your best shot by anymeans, and it may be just me, but, it seems like there have been quite a few shots of IV walking off, after talking to the group-definetly, not your best angle, IV, and while I dont have any objections to the outfits she wears, I think they suit her well (except for that clown outfit she wore the first day), they do little to minimize her rather broad backside-if anything, I think they add inches to it-another reason I would shy away from camera shots of this angle, if I were her. And yes, I also have a pretty large booty, and would let not anyone shoot angles of me from that side, ever, and would try to wear outfits that minimized it (like I do now), if I were on TV everyday, in front of a camera. Let me add, again, that I think, for the most part, IV carries off her outfits very well (but I recomend buring the clown outfit!)

I wish I had the guts to wear more attention getting clothes. Instead I hide in dark colors , a size too large for me , trying to hide my weight. Oh well....

I just dont think the camera shots from behind are your best shots, IV, if you want to continue to wear outfits that only accentuize your big behind! Just my two cents worth.

I ADORE the way Iyanla dresses (save the clown outfit). Her outfits are dramatic and colorful just like she is. I have never heard the LC's "pick" on anyone for the way they dress. The LC's simply address what message the HG's is sending by the way they dress and if that is the message they indeed want to send.
