"Christie and Kim's converstion about abortion"
Did anyone else get the feeling that they might have had an abortion as well?
Kim making the comment that she could have a child 20 by now? It was a little confusing.

Yes, I thought the same thing you did, that they both had one. But then, I got confused also. Maybe she was just thinking, if she did have one, by now it would be 20. Who knows, Kim confuses me. Sounds like Christie did have one. Wonder why this season the HG's are not sharing their complete stories right away the first day. Hmmmmmmm....added drama.

It sounded to me that they both had had one. Amazing to me that they never brought it up until now. Did both think it wasn't important? I wonder if they will be busted for it?

I thought I heard Christie say that she never even thought about talking about it, that it never occurred to her that it might be involved with her problems now.

I can't understand why there haven't been more replies to this post. At last count, EVERYONE except Lisa 1 has had an abortion! (And who believes Lisa 1) That is huge! This has to have impacted these women's lives, but it is mentioned only in passing, if at all.

Actually, I think that back when Lisa1 did that big posterboard about her life, she did say she had an abortion.

However, I don't agree that it necessarily has to have had a huge impact on their lives. I think that depends on the individual. I could see Lisa2, since I am assuming she is Catholic, being bothered by it. But I have known women who have had abortions to whom it was simply a choice they made and others who can't seem to get over it, at all.

I also think it is quite possible that this has been addressed with the HG's and we just haven't seen it. Remember, we only see about 40 minutes out of 18 hours per day of tape. Also, I remember that in a post-graduation one of the previous HG's (think it was Denise from Season 2 - but I'm not positive) said that they had hour long sessions with their LC EVERY day as well as frequent sessions with Dr. Stan. We often only see a few minutes of any of those sessions. So there is tons going on that we don't see.

cause this is what I do when I am NOT watching SO or posting on this board.

I do think it's ironic that all of the women have had abortions. All of their lives have been defined by one bad choice after another to the point of complete derailment. Had they made better choices, they would have had more successful lives. I see nothing wrong in examining one's life choices.

LAST EDITED ON 01-31-06 AT 11:50 PM (EST)

The lack of posts may be due to the fact that there was another, rather lengthy, thread about the topic in the recent past. But, it may be in the archives now.

I'll give the same warning on this thread that I, and 2 other mods made on the other. You can talk about the women & their abortions (or lack of), and how they feel/deal with it, and your feelings about how they seem to feel/deal with it.

But, you cannot get into a discussion of abortion, in general. The SO forum is to discuss the show, not public policy. There're other places, both on these boards, and elsewhere, for those discussions. If the thread veers into that, it WILL be locked.
