"The Final Two" |
This is turning out to be an interesting final, after somewhat of a slow, grinding season. The most intriguing thing to me is in the preview where Gordon said 'I'm worried i picked the wrong finalists.' What leads to that?Anyway, in many ways this finale is very similar to last season with "The Experienced Chef" going up against "The Inexperienced Chef". I have to predict that Petrozza takes it all...but who would have thought Christina would be in the finale? Then again, who would have predicted Petrozza in the finale? While we are on the topic of Petrozza...what's the deal with the rubber band on his left hand fingers? Has this been discussed before? Does anyone thing Christina can win this? Did her winning streak lead to her staying and Corey going? I think for the first time this season, i'm excited about next week's show. geekboy "I love puppies!" - S. Cowell

I wondered about that rubber band, too! I see some people do that to remind them of things that they would otherwise forget; maybe he wears it to help him stay cleaner??? He he...I have LOVED Petrozza's spirit from day one. And, as the other person said (sorry, I'm awful with names), other than a messy station, not DIRTY, but messy, what has he done that has been so bad? I don't remember the Chef screaming bloody hell at him, banning him from the kitchen, puking up his food, or anyone really wanting to kill him. Christina has been growing steadily since the beginning, when she was just the new kid on the block. Corey was good, but her evil-ness was too much to handle. Kind of like last year's Virginia. You just can't see that person winning anything and/or running a multi-million dollar restaurant. Their arrogance could get the better of them. From what I've heard, a few of the chosen from the prior seasons have had to take a step back once they've gotten into their positions, and learn a bit more before they actually take the reigns of their new restaurant. So, I can see both these guys learning and leaning a bit more before they become a major player. That being said, I think Petrozza has more to offer than Christina. But I do like them both!! It's going to be a tough call on a lot of levels. And I can't wait to see why GR says he wonders 'IF' he chose the right ones. Surely he can't think Jen or Matt would've been better!!! HA! And a DOUBLE HA! Who else would have qualified in that group of goof-offs??

Petrozza is really quality people. He would have been my top choice for a CHEF. Chritina would have been in the running. But, COREY would have been handling my MONEY made by my restaurant.

I wonder how Gordon would react if Jen obviously tries to sabatoge the team she ends up on. I wouldn't put it past her. She really came across as that mean to me. I'd love to see him throw her out of the kitchen again!
If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the bug's kitchen! Agman? It's getting hot in here!!!!

I agree there are a lot of similarities here. But one difference that came to mind was that Christina has some recent culinary training under her belt, and I think Bonnie didn't. Also, I think Gordon has said in the past he gives a lot of weight to potential, and he may conclude that Christina has more room to grow than Petrozza. Anyways, I'm plugging away on my episode summary.
