"Thoughts on Episode 7"
Oh my gosh! I am amazed at Pete! Wow! The man looks GOOD! I just don't know what to say. What an incredible change in him. Way to go Pete!!

I thought this was a really good episode. At first I was amazed at the incredible division between the men and the women. I hadn't realized the extent to which they disliked each other. But I was pleasantly surprised to see them working together and not despising each other. Good for them!

I was so very glad to see Matt lose 17 pounds after his 0 loss last week. Now hopefully Seth can pull off something similar. Good thing he and Suzy had immunity.

I am continually impressed with Matt and the strength he keeps showing. He's not afraid to show his emotion but he doesn't let it stop him from doing his best. I really like that attitude. I am sorry for the loss of his uncle.

I can't wait for next week. I am really enjoying this season.

Couldn't agree more. Great episode. I really thought Pete would go along with their wishes of who they wanted to have for a partner. But I'm glad that he went for what would help everybody in the end, even though it ended up meaning he would go home.

It was so cute when Pete walked in and surprised his wife. And he looks fabulous -- I think his total weight loss was at 137. Between Pete and his wife, and Matt's emotions and the death of his uncle, I had tears at the end.

I was very impressed with the way the new teams ended up bonding together. I really thought Mark would make it difficult for Andrea to work with him; but he didn't. As for Suzy and Seth -- I wish I had that trip to Hawaii that they won, and I'm so glad that they had immunity. They are my two favorites.

I was so shocked when they showed Pete, I didn't even recognize him! He looked fantastic! Hopefully Doc will do well with the extra time he got, I really thought it would have been him leaving last night.

This is a good bunch of people left and I'm really rooting for all of them.

I have to admit that when I saw the amount of weight Pete lost when he went home my mouth dropped! He looks so healthy and it seemed to me that he even looked younger.....and what a cutie!!!!!! I was very glad to see that the majority of the people have gone home and continued their weight loss. I started to watch this show towards the end of last season but I feel this season has been great, I really feel like I get a sense of who these people are and their attitudes have been great.

Great episode! I, too, was amazed by Pete. He kicks a$$! To me, this show is about somuch more than the money. The mnoey may play a facto, but it's really just a side issue. $250,000 isn't going to change most people's lives the way losing 100 lbs will. How much use is money if you aren't healthy enough to enjoy it?

I guess I'll do this week's summary unless someone else steps up and volunteers today.

I'd gotten the feeling throughout this whole season that noone cares that much about the money - they're there for the weight loss/life change. I'm sure they'd each love the money, especially Shannon, who is a single mom. But I haven't seen a big "wow" reaction from them when Caroline mentions the money.

Me too. I recorded both, and had to watch the world series on the downstairs TV. One of those nights where even the two-tuner DirecTiVo wasn't quite enough!

Pete's transformation completely blew me away! It was not only amazing, but it was inspiring as well. The man looked 20+ years younger!!! If I didn't know better I would have thought the young man I was looking at was Pete's son! WOW...I am sooo happy for him and his wife!!! Yes their "reunion" was sweet

That's the cool thing about this show. There aren't any real losers if they continue with what they've learned...so cool!

Am I missing something? Yes - great episode and kudos to Pete...but is there a bigger jerk on the planet than Mark? Explain exactly why again he called the women "dirtbags? He may be the biggest horse's blank I have ever seen on a reality show. It was funny after Pete calls Andrea a dirtbag then she's all kissy kissy with him? I hope she's playing him like a fiddle. Also am I the only one tired of seeing Matt cry 3-4 times a show? It is one thing to be sensitive but give me a break and shed the tears for an hour. Funny how when Matt loses zero pounds all hell breaks loose, everyone is so upset, Matt cries, etc....but Seth loses zero and nobody barely blinks! Also, with all this "male bonding" , Mark and Matt go and vote out Pete after Doc requested to be booted? Pete did the right thing the entire show and this was their payback? Heck, its not even like Pete was losing so much more than Doc - they were almost identical %-wise. Also, wasn't Doc the one filling Matt's bucket with water? And Pete gets booted by Matt (I know it was a 2 person vote but I think we all know this was Mark's and Matt's decision). Mark can't be booted soon enough...and then Matt. I can tolerate any of the rest of them winning but not them. Pete was by far my favorite and he basically got booted for being a nice guy.

I couldn't help but think that was fishy myself. The guys were so adamant about disliking the girls then it all turns around in a couple of hours? More likely that the guys decided to dominate the girls' votes from now on, basically pretending to be on 2 person teams but agreeing between them to stick together and get rid of the girls in a certain order. The only thing that went wrong was that the 2 guy team lost the weigh in this time. Otherwise you certainly would have seen one of the girls go. Then another, then another.

I think Mark has been planning to win this from day one. Nothing wrong with that at all, it's a game. I know the previews try to make it seem like Matt goes... "one of the favorites goes home". Well, at this point they are all someone's favorite so I'm thinking Suzy goes home and the guys still stick together behind the scenes.

I also think Seth somehow sabotaged his weigh in - drinking a ton of water or something because I think their plan was to get rid of Suzy first.

Pete did great! He looks fabulous and his wife said she lost 50 lbs while he was gone, too. Good job. A genuine nice guy.

I guess this is why it would be nice to see a whole lot more than they have time to show us every week. I am getting something totally different than trudy and MarkP. Guess it's just how we perceive things in general. Do you think we'll ever know if what you suspect is true? I'm curious.

Seth sabotaging his weigh-in? That thought never would hae crossed my mind. Granted he didn't seem that upset, to me, about the zero weight loss. I just chalked it up to the fact that he was already exempt because of the previous challenge. Also, I'm sure the guys were ticked that they had to vote "for one of their own." I bet they were totally expecting a male/female duo to be up for dismissal.

None the less, I'm looking forward to next week's episode. I'm really impressed with the work ethic of the remaining group. It's an inspirational show, and helps motivate me, as I am starting an aerobics class next week.

I think it's possible that Seth attempted to keep his loss down because he was already immune this week. That way he can increase his numbers for next week when he'll really need it. Drinking a ton of water all day can do it as long as you're not sweating it off. We used to do it all the time when I was a judo competitor to change weight classes. A lot of salt, a lot of water, you're up 4-5 pounds in 1 day and in big competitions we always weighed in the day before or the early morning of the competition. You can lose it again within a few hours. I'm betting Matt knows this too since wrestlers fight by weight class as well.

ETA: The reason you would bump UP a weight class for a competition is that usually you would be fighting the same opponent all over the state in the same weight class, you had a chance to both qualify for larger competitions if you split up and competed in different classes to get to the bigger meets.
