I have to say that Althea was really a piece of work and I don't know how anyone could stand to be married to her. Honestly, if Amy had kept her wacky animal-rights stuff under control, Althea's entire family would have preferred to keep her. And she had a positive impact on the other family. I thought Amy was overall not so bad--getting rid of the guns, being calm and firm about it, inviting the husband back to his own bed, making him spend time with his family, having immediate family only time--all those were great. But then she has to be so crazy with the animal stuff and say the guy "sucked her dry" when really their only significant beef was over the Confederate flag.Amy's daughter really didn't seem bad at all to me. I work in public education, and I wish our students were like her. To everyone who says that girl is so bad, y'all must have some great, super-obedient kids.

my daughter is far from perfect but she definitelly doesn't talk to any adults the way that child did. and if she did, she'd only do it once. Kids benefit from having responsibilities and boundaries. They also benefit from having a mom who gets up to see them off in the morning and I don't know - make sure their hair isn't a knotty mess. I want to know what my 8 year old is eating - that's why I fix her meals. If left to her own devices, she'd have cake for breakfast and ice cream for lunch. Amy doesn't work outside the home - yet she doesn't work inside the home either. Why would anyone clean their house once a year and have that be a source of pride? Althea was over-bearing - and definitely tried to do too much too fast. The changes she instituted were too much for Emily - but Emily is certainly old enough to clean her room. Why would you want your child or yourself to live in filth? Showing respect for adults isn't just something for a child to do. It will serve her well her entire life. I still say "yes maam" and "no sir" - it's as easy as please and thank you. I love to see a child with good manners. I think it's absolutely imperative that a child be taught to act with respect and restraint in other peoples' homes and to other peoples' parents. I see the difference in some of the girls in my Brownie troop - some of these girls have absolutely no boundaries or limits. It's not just that a child shouldn't interrupt - no one should. But it's so much easier to instill this in a child. To me - that's part of the job of a parent. I want to be involved in my child's life - not run it - but be a part of it. Amy can't be bothered to get up before ten. She can't be bothered to do laundry or dishes. And Amy seems fairly manipulative too - her histrionics have her husband whipped. On local radio this morning, a caller who went to college with Amy called in - she has a degree in drama - she knows how to use it.

I thought Emily handled the changes thrown at her quite well. She hid from the new chores when she could, but wasn't shown doing any really rude back-talk, which might have been expected froma very spoiled child. But agree she needs better parenting. Having her get herself off to school is pathetic. I loved her droll confessionals! The kid has a nice sense of humor. And I thought Amy was totally delusional when she announced she was "the best mother in the history of the world" or whatever drivel it was she spit out. Hello? You are lucky to have a smart, self-reliant & resiliant kid. And no, I don't think she is that way because of how you raised her. She's that way in spite of how you raised her! my first Slice original!

AND "Amy doesn't work outside the home - yet she doesn't work inside the home either." I absolutely agree with each of these statements. Althea's ideas for change were all good, but did she have to come off as a "Devil Woman"? I don't think so... I guarantee from what I saw of her husband, he doesn't take too kindly to being ruled with an iron fist. He's the type of guy who uses hunting and fishing to get the heck away from her every weekend!! As far as Amy... WOW!!! She's a bit nutty in the head! OMG, I'm not the neatest person, but if I didn't work, was allowed to sleep 'til 10 and did nothing around the house to boot... I bet my husband would have been gone! This episode is one where I did not like ANY of these spouses! I'm just a squirrel trying to get a nut.

Okay, maybe not. But I have never laughed out loud at TV as much as I did tonight. Not that any of those people were people I'd wanna hang around, but that blonde treehugger mom was...INSANE. Did you see the way she and dreg-daddy were looking at each other during the final showdown, when all four parents were together. It was like a lesson in bad acting, and yet..it was real life. I just...man, I guess I am speechless.

After the initial shock of her tantrum, I realized she sounded and looked a heck of a lot like my 4 year old daughter during one of her fits!

This was the best episode yet! The confrontation between the two couples was great. I think Amy needs some Xanax though. I thought she was going to have a nervous breakdown about her dogs being outside. She acted as if Althea killed them and cooked them for dinner! Yo, they are dogs! Dogs like to play outside.I thought Althea was a b*tch. I actually liked the treehugger husband and daughter. It was rude of Althea to complain about the dirty vase when Jeff brought her flowers. I think a simple thank you would suffice. Maybe politely offer to rinse out the vase herself? I think it sucks when people hunt for fun and put the animal heads on their walls, but it was so funny though when Amy saw the deerhead, apologized to it and then ran from the room wailing. Glenn was an uncooperative stubborn jerk. He couldn't stand to take the flag and animals down for a few days? I think the man is sexually frustrated though, because clearly Althea hasn't given him any in quite some time. Which reminds me, I can't believe Amy talked about her and Jeff's sex life. Did we really need to know that?

I am pretty sure I saw the arkansas couple on a show called REAL SEX on HBO. They were swingers who belonged to a club in California. Makes me think these are actors since they are on more than one reality show.
