ZnittyK 93 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Hollywood Squares Square" 09-09-07, 08:56 PM (EST) "What does everyone expect in Cycle 9?" I really hope ANTM goes in another direction because it is soooo boring now. The girls last season were some of the WORST contestants in ANTM history and those were the WORSE covergirl shots in ANTM history. And yes everyone knows that Tyra had two plus-girls on there because of her weight gain rampage. Now I hear she's lost weight. For a while I refused to believe that because she made such a big deal out of her weight gain. So I guess its back to the regular plus-girl thing. But Tyra is a hypocrite. A new cosmetics contract would be good for starters. I'm tired of seeing Covergirl. Estee Lauder perhaps? Something, ANYTHING other than covergirl. A larger contract? Its time for her to raise the stakes. Especially since Tyra made this comment before "this is cycle 8 y'all" as if the girls were supposed to know everything because its cycle 8. I don't know if this has been covered a while back but this has been bugging me for a while. Danielle had a country accent. Tyra said you have to know how to turn it off and turn it on. LAST EDITED ON 09-10-07 AT 02:17 PM (EST) Well British actors that play Americans on American TV do it all the time (as do most actors/TV news people/Radio personalities, etc. that grew up with strong regional American accents). What do I expect from this cycle? 1. One girl to cry about getting her hair cut short. 2. One girl to be bitchy and mean, yet complain that she is simply misunderstood. 3. One girl to sit on the phone for hours and hours listening to a dial tone and moving her mouth like she is talking to someone. 4. One girl to come in stating she cannot do nude posing (hello, have you watched this show before?) 5. One girl to state how as a mother/single mother, she is all alone in the house and no one understands how important this is to her. 6. A bunch of judges that apply standards differently, not only from week to week, but from model to model in the same week. 7. Ms. J to wear some god awful judging outfit that grows in god awfulness from week to week. 8. Some girls claiming they have congenital/accidental disabilities that make them both bitchy and stupid and how unfair this is. I could go on and on, but hey, I will watch this train wreck anyway. If you are referring to me I'm not quite sure what you mean LOL. I knew folks can get lessons on their speech but I didn't know that you can just turn it off no problem. I guess its because I don't have an accent. Oh well as long as it can be fixed to the point where you can just turn it off, I am 100% for it. Q, I agree about the things you expect. I also think this is a train wreck but I will end up watching it anyway as usual. I want to add one in if you don't mind. -The judges are going to find something wrong with a girl who is doing consistently well. Its like they are looking for things to be wrong with some of the girls. If they can't find any issues with her. -Oh and the "plus-size" girl (who doesn't even look plus-size)ain't winning. Although I'm not plus-size I would like to see a plus-size woman win. Well, one that actually looks plus-size. That was funny what you said about Ms. Jay. I saw Danielle or "Dani" as they call it in one of the fashion shows for fashion week. I forgot whose show it was. It was for Spring 2008. Many reality tv shows have their own drinking games - it makes watching the dreck more bearable. I hope this season is a change. I mean she is changing the locations for the casting and stuff but still? Tyra still makes these girls look like complete azzez. She also likes to tell their business but that is what they are going into and they know it so its no big deal. I wonder why it was a one hour episode its usually two hours at first. Hmmm. The entire plus-size thing is just blah to me. Tyra is such a hypocrite as I said. The girl doens't look plus-size but aren't plus-size models are on the smallers side now? I know they are trying to get more girls who are a size 12 or 14+. That being said whatever this is about is beyond me. We know she's not going to win.
