I understand DAWness. But I have to admit something that i thought was a little strange. One of the women they introduced last night said she was in the top 3% nation wide for residential real estate sales. This would easily put her income in the 3 to 5 million dollar a year range. Why? Oh Why? Would you take time off to go do this. It makes no sense. I think she was in her early 20's besides. If this is really true she is far more succesful than Trump was at that age. She has the financial where with all to grow a real estate empire on her own.....

Commerical real estate has much better hours than residential real estate. I know an agent who just switched because she has family issues she needs to address, and the schedule works better for her to do that. For that girl to produce like that in the residential market, she pretty much has no life, given the amount of weekend and evening time that kind of production would take. I can understand why someone in their early 20s would tire of that quickly. I am the embodiement of snarky, sarcastic and smart. I am also the S7 Anti-Bootee co-champion!

I think that most of her houses are to the "stars" and the money issue is remarkable to me as well - many of them a think clearly make more then the prise. However I think she will either win - or the "hard to do this" is her getting kicked off next week. DT would love this girl.

LAST EDITED ON 01-09-04 AT 10:32 PM (EST)One word - DAW!!! Okay, that's actually 3 words, Desperate Attention Whore, but she probably wants the television exposure. It might even help her sell more real estate when she gets sent packing. What do you think the odds are of a woman winning this thing?

>What do you think the odds >are of a woman winning >this thing? I vacillate on this one. I definitely do NOT think one of the female "hotties" (i.e. cleavage sporting, Ally McBeal minis) will win. It would too much reinforce Sir Trump's reputation to over-indulge in beautiful women and could potentially backfire with a serious barrage from our liberal media. Would he pick one of the non-"hotties"? Doing that could be a media coup for him. Or will he just pick the most unfortunate of the bunch to give them a shot? If he did pick one of the "hotties" he may be able to "transfer" them from this position to his modeling agency. I thought a lot of the guys seemed like total tools. I liked Bowie from Texas and Jason, even though he interrupted HRH in the board room. Will look forward to next week.

Even though Donald Trump is a notorious womanizer, he is also a notorious businessman. I don't think that he would let one of the beauties win just because she's beautiful. He wants the future C.O.O. of one of his companies (which, since it has yet to be named, may be Trump Pretzel Vending, Inc. with one location at 42nd Street and 5th Ave.) to be smart enough to make a lot of money for Trump. As for his personal life, he divorced Ivana, perhaps the only intelligent one in the bunch. The rest are eye candy and arm decorations.

It's got to be for the PR exposure, what a great way to promote herself(business)than on a nationally televised reality tv show. She couldn't afford to buy that kind of advertising for herself anywhere else. Girls win! Valley Girl "Donald, I've always looked up to a man who ....."

6. "That's Katrina " |
LAST EDITED ON 01-09-04 AT 04:14 PM (EST)The girl you're talking about was Katrina -- the attractive blonde who showed up on the first day in an Ally McBeal -like gold suit with the short skirt and sleeveless top. Her outfits actually seemed to get a bit more conservative from there... but she always seemed to be dressed to the nines when outside the apartment. Below's her bio -- being the she's from Miami, her outfits, as well as those of the other girl, Erika, who worked for Estee Lauder, are somewhat understandable -- but still unappropriate. On the other hand, "political consultant" Omarosa has less excuse. http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/story.php?s=2088 Katrina Campins (Coral Gables, FL) Katrina Campins is a 24-year-old native Miamian who graduated with a BBA in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami (4.0 G.P.A.). A licensed Florida Real Estate Agent since the age of 18, Katrina has established herself as a multimillion dollar producing agent who ranks in the top 3% of all Realtors nationwide. Campins’ clientele list is extensive and impressive, many of who are well-known business people, sports people, diplomats and celebrities. Katrina is actively involved in her community through her participation in charitable organizations.

Where did you come up with an income in the 3-5 million dollar a year range for a top 3% Realtor? It is completly devoid of reality. I would estimate her *net* income at between $60,000 and $160,000.

That is the reality !!!! If you have the "right contacts", a million in commissions is low end for a real estate agent in high value markets NY / CT / DC / South Florida / CA ...Take any city -- look for the agency that sells the most expensives houses -- check the agents -- they are "society", doctor, lawyer, CPA, "religious" and political types relatives.

No, the reality is that most real estate agents are part timers (the retired and work at home moms). The reality is that the great majority or agents don't even sell enough property to make a living. The reality is that the majority of agents in the 'top 3%' get there by selling listing services (at a discount) to large institutional lenders. Such salesmanship usually involves working for a large RE firm such as Re/Max and paying a large monthly fee to the firm(or commission split), along with a large monthly advertising budget, and paying an assistant(s) to handle closings. The proverbial high end 'society' agent making a million plus a year is a fraction of a percent of real estate agents. It is much more probable that the woman agent described as being in 'top 3% of agents' is *not* the proverbial high end 'society' agents you describe.

Can't be in the top 3% if your not.

Thanks for the link. I was not suggesting that she was a part time agent. I was only describing why it is not a huge deal to be in 'the top 3% of agents' because 75% (my estimate) of agents are part timers. Let's do some math based upon that link (some estimates): 6 listings totaling $4,500,000. Average selling agent listing fee (1.5%), agent's split (60%), average time on market 6 months, percentage of listings actually closing 70%, advertising/overhead costs per listing ($500). Total net income from listings over a 6 month period =(4,500,000*0.015*0.60*0.70)-3,000= $25,350. The $25,350 is only for 6 months, and it does not include commissions from acting as a buyer's agent, but it is clearly a long way from a million dollars per year in income. RE agents are notorious for overstating incomes and connections.

More interesting infohttp://www.jeannebakerrealty.com/htm/aboutjeanniebakerrealty.htm This is a new agency, since October .... Could this be a spoiler ??? New job since filming ???? She is doing pretty good, considering she's competing with the son and a number of grandsons. Will the grandsons be the new office managers ???? The 1.3+ condo listing -- wonder if she was the original agent for the entire building ???? Would need a listing like that to be a top 3% .... Son claims 50 million in sales .... CG /Good Latin area with unrest in Venezuela 2004 should be a banner year.

Trying to do too many things at one time. Nice working on weekends by yourself, but at times things get busy.Didn't see a date on article about agency, assumed current, since listings seem rather small for a "high power" office. Did check out Bill's cigar site -- hosted by Yahoo Stores .... http://www.cigarsaroundtheworld.com
