"How arrogant can the Guidos be?" |
I loved seeing the Guidos arrogance almost eliminate them from the show. Deciding to just sit around the hotel all day and relax just because they had the fast forward was a classic Guido blunder. Just like in Paris they decided they had the upper hand and decided to rest on their laurels.Too bad Nancy and Emily gave up too early. It was sad and frustrating to watch that whole episode. Look for the Guidos to comeback strong, though. They always play best when they are under pressure - it's when they get too confident that they screw the pooch...poor little doggy.

I agree. I was loved watching these guys sitting down and drinking like they had won. Hello?!? Sip your little drinks AFTER you get to the pitstop. They were absolutely stunned to see other people had dared to arrive before them. Anyone have any idea what the time difference is between them and first place?I figured that whenever the Guidos used their FF they would blow by the competition. I'm glad to see that they are human and bleed like evryone else. Momentarily they were humbled but we can see from the preview of next week's show they are back in form with the "We're going to be first!" comment. Gack!

hmm ... you might be right. I may have stretched it a little far. How about they are mammals? Soul-less obnoxious back-stabbing mammals but mammals nevertheless.

Good observations stepol! I am also dying to get my hands on the time difference of arrivals at the pitstop. It has to be at least 5 hours or so, not that it makes any difference in this game. As for the Guidos climbing back into the top spot? With no more fast forwards to be had, I think they'd better watch their backs, cause they have no more advantages! TAR rocks!

I kind of relief that no teams are eligible for FF anymore! I am glad that those androids finally use it and really screwed up at it! If only nancy & emily beat them, it would be a priceless moments for all anti-guidos... c'mon! FF and get eliminated? I already enjoyed every moment of watching Joe's face drop when he saw nancy & emily coming their way. The next round would be non-elimination point, yes? hopefully! I admire F & M for being very independent (am i bias or what) and their way of doing the race is so cool but yet smart. Margarita's logical sense had to be the 100th times right this time... I can't imagine if they really take the train as Frank has suggested. Problem is..... with the expensive cost... will they have enough money for the next race? it looks like the androids that have the most money now....

>>> I loved seeing the Guidos arrogance almost eliminate them from the show. Deciding to just sit aroundthe hotel all day and relax just because they had the fast forward was a classic Guido blunderI don't think they were being arrogant when they did that. They were just learning from their mistakes that caused them money problems. They have been strapped for cash and they want to save some money. Besides, what is the point of being so far ahead when there will be instances in the game where time differences would not matter?

Mikey, the arrogance was not in the decision to sit around, I agree that they did that because of money problems. The arrogance was that they assumed they would be so far ahead that it didn't even occur to them that the other teams would not be sitting around during those 8 hours. There was not one comment with them contemplating, but what if they catch up in that time? They just assumed the other teams were not good enough to catch up. The arrogance was clear when they arrived at the pit stop and were visibly shocked to see so many shoes and especially to see Nancy and Emily.

>>> They just assumed the other teams were not good enough to catch up.Actually, it is you who is assuming that the Guidos were thinking that. If you look at previous episodes, most of the activities occur more than 8 hours. Besides, they did not know what kind of challenges they were facing. And based on previous episodes, the challenges occur more than 8 hours.

I doubt the Guidos saved money by waiting for a train and then spending cash on a hotel room and iced tea.If they'd been worried about money they would have sat in the train station drinking water. They wanted some downtime, a chance to relax. The mistake was in not getting to the checkpoint first, and then relaxing. That's what F/M did at the Taj Mahal and it gave them a chance to rest, and bond a little. The Guidos thought that the FF would give them a big time advantage, not realizing that the FF was fairly close to the end of the leg. Essentially, they assumed the FF would give them a large advantage, and that the other teams would not be able to close the gap while they relaxed. Bad decision.
