I am getting really tired of seeing these complete asses signing up for these game shows only to talk about 'giving up' or ACTUALLY 'giving up' midway through because it becomes too 'exhausting' or 'extrenuous' for them. If that's the goddamned case, then they may as well warn the other teams ahead of time to just take it easy because one team feels like pulling out because the game is getting too hard. An example - tonight's episode. Mary and Peach quitting (on all things, drinking herbal tea that doesn't taste too appealing!). I got really annoyed watching them talking about giving up. Past examples would include Nancy and Emily, team Cha-Cha (they talked about pulling out because of the ankle injury) and the supposed 'Gutsy Grandmas' when they balked at the idea of hang gliding. Why do these people even bother signing up for these shows? I am sure there were thousands of applicants who were turned away who are willing and quite able to compete in TAR and give it everything they've got. Watching quitters only makes me want to turn the television off. The producers should have tinkered with the show last week when Rob and Brennan Part II (oh I'm sorry, I mean Chris and Alex) checked in, in last position and made it an elimination round. There were no voice-overs or any hints whatsoever earlier in that episode that that particular episode would NOT be an elimination round - the Producer probably has a hard-on for two hot young strapping guys and wants Chris and Alex to win this race. I don't think there will be any more surprises ahead in this predictable pap. Jinx

"the Producer probably has a hard-on for two hot young strapping guys and wants Chris and Alex to win this race."It was a non-elimination round. Most of us knew this before the episode even started. Last season, 6 was a non round, so we suspected it was a non round this season too. I don't think it had anything to do with a crush.

Chris and Alex are nothing like Rob and Brennan other than the fact that they are the "young male" in shape team.

So much anger...I don't find it at all surprising that some of the teams talk about or actually go about giving up. Some, like the Grannies, have been utterly unprepared for the rigors of the game. Others, like the Cha-Chas, are tired and just verbally expressing how hard the game is kicking their asses, clearly without any real intention of giving up. And still others, like Mary and Peach, have pushed as hard as they think they can without dropping dead of physical and emotional exhaustion and don't have anything left to give. I felt badly for Mary tonight. She's a strong competitor and Peach's weaknesses (partly physical, mostly in her head) cost them the game. But I was also happy for Peach. I'll bet you when she started out in the race, she thought she'd get her team eliminated in the first leg. But she proved to herself that she is a lot stronger than she ever thought she was. That's invaluable, especially to someone who has gone through her life believing she was weak (and apparently had that idea reinforced by her own family). TAR is a game. Someone has to lose so someone else can win. Watching the show should be enjoyable. If it's upsetting you as much as it appears, perhaps it would be best for you to do exactly what you said and turn off your TV.
