annapolislass 12 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Got Milk? Spokesperson" 03-29-04, 08:07 PM (EST) "15 TV Shows That Should Be Cancelled Immediately! " Ah... here is my chance to vent at some of the worst shows I have ever seen. 1. Friends (NBC) I'm sorry, but Friends has not been funny for at least three seasons. Thank goodness we can still appreciate the good old days on reruns on the WB and TBS. 2. ER (NBC) I never liked this show from the start, but it has gotten SO bad in recent seasons that it should be cut off the air immediately! Good lord, this show is waaay overrated! 3. Frasier (NBC) Like Friends, Frasier is past its prime. Don't get me wrong, it was at one time a great show, but it's just not funny anymore. 4. Passions (NBC) Once, at a friend's house, I was coerced into watching this mind-numbing drivel. As far as soap operas go, this is the lowest quality of all. The acting is so bad and the plot is nonexistent. 5. 7th Heaven (WB) Hey, I used to like this show a lot. But they've run out of good storylines and it is time for the show to be given a nice send-off. 6. NYPD Blue (ABC) I never liked this show. It needs to be cancelled. The only reason it is still on is ABC can't come up with anything better... that is really, really sad. 7. The Practice (ABC) Like so many of its other shows, ABC has run this one into the ground. If anyone is still watching, I must ask... why? 8. Good Morning, Miami (NBC) Ick... this show has always sucked. 9. Fear Factor (NBC) America has been exposed to enough of this trash... get rid of it. 10. Average Joe Series (NBC) Come on, NBC. This show has always sucked, and it continues to suck in its third incarnation. 11. Yes, Dear (CBS) I watched about 2 minutes of this drivel and it is embarrasingly bad. 12. Starting Over (ABC) This show is based on a good concept, but it has become something utterly ridiculous. 13. Living it Up With Ali & Jack (CBS) This show has convinced me never to watch TV during the daytime ever again. 14. Forever Eden (FOX) I watched this show and it was shockingly bad... actually, it wasn't much of a shock. and finally... 15. Survivor Series (CBS) Survivor was great for the first four seasons... Thailand, Amazon, and Pearl Islands all were really bad. All-Star has convinced me never to watch again. To conclude, there are so many shows that I could add to this list, I don't really know where to begin. Feel free to post your picks and dispute mine, if you so desire.   Top

I never even bothered to look at some of these shows or I just watched the first couple of shows. You are right, some of these are overrated and play to a mindless audience. I actually felt sorry for the people that caught up in these shows. but wait.. Surviour.. leave it on because I enjoy the bashers so much!!   Top

I don't see why this worthless show gets good ratings. I notice that all six of the main characters look like models, and that probably doesn't hurt. I understand why the network makes a big deal of the show. It's a business, and this show sells. The finale of this series will be given special treatment. I bet it will receive more attention that the Seinfeld finale, and Seinfeld was one of the best series of all time. Why do viewers put this show at the top of the ratings? Why do they put it in the same category as Cheers, Seinfeld, and MASH? Three's Company was better than this. King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Will and Grace are all better than Friends. Just Shoot Me was better. I don't know about Frasier. I think maybe that's gotten stale. This is a C- or D-grade show getting A-level treatment. The only thing it seems to offer is six people who look like models. That's the only thing that I see that sets this apart from other shows, and that shouldn't be enough to make it so popular.   Top

Just to confirm that it's still dreadful and it still has the worst acting/storyline/special effects on television. And it does. It's like a driving past a car wreck. You don't want to look, but you can't help yourself. The dude who plays Antonio? Worst.Actor.Ever.   Top

I've always hated CSI. I can't stand it. Watching it makes me long for a gritty, realistic Law & Order, where cops are cops, detectives are detectives, and CSI units do what they're supposed to; collect and process evidence. I can't stand how Grissom and Co. act as detectives, and somehow always get a confession, usually with evidence that would never hold up in court. Because it comes on right after Survivor, I sometimes stick around to watch it, and everytime I leave vowing never to return. I've seen Grissom show up at a crime scene to find bodies gleefully left among the wreckage (in this case, of a roller coaster train that derailed) Hn, yeah, I'm pretty sure by the time the crime scene folks arrived the bodies would at least be covered with sheets. I don't know. Maybe I'm just spoiled from Law & Order, but there's just something about CSI that infuriates me. I will say it can be an amusing bit of television if, unlike me, you're willing to suspend logic, realism and fact. And please, someone get rid of ER already. I keep seeing the promos for episodes, and it's just like God has a personal vendetta against that hospital!   Top

Yes, Jack and Karen are hysterical, and Rosario is a goddess, but the two leads are, IMHO, a waste of space. And, please, get people who like each other! If any of my friends treated me the way those people treat each other, they wouldn't be my friends. It also perpetuates the b!tchy gay stereotype. Hate to say it coz I've always liked the show, but can they please put it out of its misery already! It was the perfect show for post-9/11 America, but they moved it to Friday after Joan this last year and sucked all the life out of it with heavy-handed overly-preachy scripts ... well, they always had a few of those every season, but this last season they went overboard with the stuff. Too much! I guess the writers got nervous, figured God was a hard act to follow and fell all over themselves trying to be worthy or something. There's just nothing to enjoy about the show anymore.
