opinionated 151 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Blistex Spokesperson" 03-23-04, 10:32 AM (EST) "A quick question for the board "regulars."" I'm curious...is it normal to have some strange individual posting flaming remarks on this board all the time, or is it a recent phenomenon that I just had the misfortune of walking into? I want to talk about American Idol and singing in general, but I keep seeing these bizarre posts that seem designed only to take up space and irritate. Please tell me this is just a passing annoyance. Many thanks for your responses. Opinionated (A slim, non-gay, stay-at-home mom in her 30's who just needs to talk to adults once in a while!)   Top

I post a lot more often in the Off Topic Forum, and I got tired of people getting congratulated for posting, perhaps, a bit more than they should. I realize you were probably typing very quickly when you wrote this so what you probably meant to type was "you won't survive 28 years of progressive schooling if you ARE a moron." Or You "wouldn't" if you "were" The "won't" are "were" don't go together, the won't is a present or future tense where as the were is a past tense. I have not been through 28 years of progressive schooling so I may be wrong. Just a friendly little help.   Top

If someone flames you, you can fight back by clicking on "alert" at the bottom left corner of their post and telling the forum moderator about it (a link to the forum guidelines are at the top of the page). It is best to let the "blue peeps" take care of anyone who steps outside the forum guidelines. But if someone is just posting stuff that is irritating, it is usually best to ignore them. This site started out as a basher site, although it isn't so much anymore, so there are a number of people who come here to bash the Reality TV show participants. There are other boards out there that don't allow bashing, but they can be rather boring. I think it helps to wear flame-retardant goggles, but that's just me!!   Top

I'm not really a "regular" (at least posting-wise; I read a LOT), but every now and then someone who is grammatically and syntactically challenged shows up with nothing better to do than to bash the bashers. Some of us remember the "P-Ho" stuff from last year.... I mostly enjoy just reading posts by people who can spell and make sense, thank you very much. This is one of the few places I've found where we can bash the shows we love to watch, and the people in them. I don't find myself giving thought to the possible demographics of the board, I just enjoy it. I KNOW we're all hard-bodied, 20-year olds with six figure incomes and ivy league degrees...   Top
