geekboy 1788 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Herbal Healing Drugs Endorser" 03-12-09, 11:20 AM (EST) "My Thoughts On The Top 13" Hey everyone. I've been on this board sporadically this season due to other obligations w/ my kids. Next week, though, i will start to watch this show live instead of via DVR. Finally. First things first - i think this crop of 13 contestants - barring the two kicked off this week - could be the best group of 11 this show has seen yet. To have "Michael Jackson Week", and only have 3-4 real clunkers was shocking to me. That alone shows the caliber of the gang this season. Now, of the remaining 11 i'd like to share some of my thoughts. Allison - this girl is giving me the same vibe Kelly did on season one. I think she is amazing. I anticipated having a guy pick this season, but right NOW, she is my favorite. I love her voice, i love how this is just so natural for her. Danny Gokey - I know this guy has a lot of haters, but get real - the guy can SANG! Finally, a Wisconsin reality-show contestant I am not embarrased about! His performance of PYT was incredible. Kris Allen - I wasn't so sure about his "Man In The Mirror" performance, but i loved his "Remember The Time". Alexis - yes, it was a bit over the top, but this is the other girl i really, really like. I think Allison has a better chance to make it farther, though. Matt G - I have a feeling this guy is going to be the wildcard pick that goes VERY FAR. I think this week gave me an incredible huge boost in confidence. I get a Taylor Hicks vibe from him in terms of how he has a natural soul, and lives and breathes music. Those are my five favorites, an i'm in shock there are two girls in there considering the strength of the guys this season. Thoughts on the rest ... Lil Rounds - I just simply hate the ego. She has the pipes, but the attitude turns me off. Scott - He still appears to be suffering from nerves, and can you blame him? His vocals ver VASTLY better than his previous performance. I expect him to even be better next week. My only fear is that people are going ot get tired of him always behind the piano doing the same mid-tempo songs. We'll see. Megan - "Rockin Robin"? What were you thinking. you have skills and you pick that song. Anoop - I love this guy, but ... Paula was 100% right (*GASP*) Nobody else cna do that song. I was quite disappointed by his choice, and his performance. The guy also needs to learn some style. Michael Sarver - I was impressed. He has pipes. Adam - *sigh* - I just don't get this guy, or the love from the judges. I just don't get it. I watched "Black and White" back a few times, even cranked up the volume, and his voice is so bizarre to me. At times he sounds like Axl Rose when he goes high and strong. At other times, his vocals are just not that good. He has yet to impress me. I think i'm in the minority though. geekboy "In a competition of hamburgers, you are a steak." - S. Cowell   Top

We all have egos, even you and I. That's a normal and healthy thing. The point at which i start ot have a problem with it si when that ego is flaunted and put on display. As Lil does, in my opinion. I agree with you on Lil Rounds. She can sure sing though huh? I disagree with you on Adam. I like him. And he's different, which is what people look for. To each his own I guess.
