PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

My apologies if this has been done before for this season, I just haven't been around in these parts much.Well, we've had the good, the great and the awful *cough (Rod Stewart) cough* acting as singing mentors to our young beloved hopefuls. You know who I would jump up and down with glee and rewatch the tape over and over for is if they had Bjork Week. Just think of it - they could dress like her (remember that Swan Dress, or the dress of bells?) and sing one of her hits. This would be must see TV. Can you imagine what Randy, Paula and Simon would say? So who would you want to have as a mentor for AI?

Barry is in Clive's stable. I predict he will be back when he does another album. Wonder if Clive will make him, 'er... that is, have him do another classics album.

Amen on the Barry love!!Why? He's a much stronger musician, with scads of experience as a musical director than anyone else they've EVER had. He has actual, useful information to give singers.

LAST EDITED ON 05-07-07 AT 11:39 AM (EST)LAST EDITED ON 05-07-07 AT 11:38 AM (EST) I read that Tina is working on a new album, so there is hope for a future album pimping, I mean mentoring spot, lol. Bruce Springsteen would be interesting because we know he is with Sony/BMG. Steven Tyler would be fun. Eric Clapton would be riveting. So many good suggestions in this thread! I'd like to see Ringo just for the 'ell of it. Phil Collins Don Henley, Glen Frey, oh, that's right, no Eagles music permitted on Idol because they do not want their songs mangled. Elton John--wasn't he already there JHud's year? Billy Joel Jackson Browne Van Morrison (will never happen) Jimmy Buffet (I would love to see someone do Fins, lol)

did you catch buffet in college? I forget where that was, but I think it was at that irritating place with the blue feet through town. I can visualize the stage outdoors somewhere.it was my only personal sighting of the man. but he STILL reminds me of myrtle beach, every time I hear him. lol. the blender ran nonstop. and yes, we were happily wasting away, thanks. I made it to the final round of our bong-gammon tournament senior yr, lol, and then we lacked the will to ever play that final game.

Do you mean the blue footprints on the streets?I saw Jimmy Buffet just a few years ago--and the crowd is as much of the concert as he is. People had elaborate costumes and we got to go to a pre-concert party with Jimmy's peeps. We had drinks with among others, a cheeseburger, a fries, a lettuce, a pickle and so forth--there were really people wearing these costumes--and they told us they had been seen at an earlier concert and had their pic taken--it was used on the inside cover of one of JB's cd's and that was how they got to the party! Other people had elaborate parrot headwear or just fun, Rio type headwear. We felt totally under--headwear--dressed, lol. If you like a joyful party crowd, go to a JB concert and kick back with some brews and be ready to do "Fins".

LAST EDITED ON 05-08-07 AT 11:47 AM (EST)>Do you mean the blue footprints >on the streets? > Yep, that would be it! I think it was a stage set up in the edge of a football field, I remember sitting in bleacher-style seats in straight rows. not a HUGE crowd, and we were pretty close up.
I only set my own feet on that campus one other time .... I had to find super-obscure greek philosopher writings, that were in a special department where you couldn't check out the books. agony. I have no recall of what that class was, or why on earth I took it!
