PagongRatEater 12996 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 04-05-06, 12:30 PM (EST) "Ryan vs. Simon" Am I the only one who this annoys the carp out of? I swear Ryan's petty, immature swipes that he feels he has to take at Simon after virtually every contestant sings are getting on my VERY.LAST.NERVE. Hey Ryan - it isn't funny, it isn't cute and it isn't brave. It's petulant, annoying and it totally takes away from the broadcast. Anyone else feel this way? But, the four of us had a great time.   Top

He'll say something like "America, what have you done" when someone like Ace is in the bottom 3, but not when someone else is there. I thought that this was the whole point of the show, not to make Ryan Seacrest happy. I hate to be lectured to by Ryan Seacrest.   Top

I think in seasons before Ryan was maybe more lighthearted whereas this season it seems like he's just trying to be mean. I also hate when he tells me that how I voted was wrong! Some of this stuff is planned <imho> of course. I truly believe they all get along pretty well or else they wouldn't have lasted this long lol. But, that's just my two cents on that..Oh, if you remember...In the first season Simon was always saying something to Ryan that was either a put down, or a way of telling him he wasn't a judge and so forth..I think they've kind of calmed down from that and the audience likes it when Simon gets put in his place very now and then..LOL! ITA...Ryan and Simon are putting on an act for the audience. You see them out and about together (remember when Simon got 'punked' by Ashton K?). I think they are having a contest to see who can get the other's goat ... in a joshing fashion...but think that tension makes for a more interesting show. How many times do we hear that people watch for Simon? That Simon's caustic comments make the show? This show is soooo produced...not as spontaneous as they try to appear. I don't like when they steal time from the contestants with their banter..particularly after a contestant has sung. BTW--Paula signed a new, three year contract and I read that Simon has a five year contract--I would imagine that Ryan is well ensconsed, too. They are not going to mess with their formula any time soon.   Top

It comes across as jealous childishness from Ryan - not witty banter. Witty banter is funny and...well, witty. These mostly one sided exchanges are irritating at best - and if they are produced, it should be well noted that people do not enjoy it. But, the four of us had a great time.   Top
