Oh, and since this thread could become long a cumbersome, please delete your sigpics for the benefit of our dial up friends. Go Ace!!! "RE: Taylor Hicks" Didn't seem too jinxed to me What I love about him is that the movements he makes seem natural. That got me about the girls last night they seemed to put movements on they thought they should do rather than what comes out of the song. I see the judges didn't like it, so much, but I did. I'm buying what he is selling. I like the quality of his voice and that he throws himself into it.   Top

I like his voice but some of his vocal ticks remind me of Tourettes (and Joe Cocker). Judges' comments: Randy, probably sang that song in a lot of bars, not his favorite performance, pitch problems, still likes him, Ray Charles thing going. Paula, loves his outfit, loves his enthusiasm, not her favorite song choice. Simon, didn't work for him, wrong song choice, needs to take himself out of the bubble, an average performance. (Paula doubled her medication tonight.)   Top

"RE: Taylor Hicks" I can appreciate the judges' beef with the song choice (I am a huge Commodores/Smokey Robinson fan), but comparing him with the other guys, he was definitely in teh top 3 tonight. This week was sucky for boys and girls for the most part. Taylor needs to step it up. Because he is so "different" and his style is so specific, he needs to pick all the right songs each week otherwise we'll easily tire of the same old thing from him. I love the guy, but he needs some help choosing songs. He sounded good throughout most of the song, though. Got blog?   Top

I liked him before, but he sounded terrible in many parts. The end was pretty good, but I couldn't get past the beginning and middle. He's got a great voice and SO much potential, he just needs some help figuring out how to put it all together. btw, this is a Sam Cooke song (done by a million people since). He should be around come next week. The song is one of the few country songs from male vocalists that I really like. He had some iffy parts, but it could've been a helluva lot worse. Got blog?   Top
