PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are

Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

I think this year's performers would do well with country. The only two I see having a problem are Scott and Anthony, and they bite anyway.

Well, since I detest almost all country music...that'd be easy for me. And these kids are young, so year of birth would surely include something I liked. I'm such a slut for the blues.

With all of the crossover going on (and the number of country hits that have already been redone by others artists and made into mainstream hits), country would be an easy category for the contestants to find fitting material. Will they find the right songs? Oh, I doubt it in many cases. But that's the contestants' fault, not that the material's lacking. And am I the only one who would like to hear Bo sing "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight?" "If there was ever a time you wanted permission to run over a clown . . . ."

Am i the only one who finds this questionable?"Year of Birth", although creative, is not an AI type of theme. Also, it was promoted pretty heavily that there WILL NOT be guest judges this year. I'll believe it when i see it. To me, the country rumor sounds more realistic. geekboy

According to the Hall and Oates Web site bulletin boards. They say they will be in the audience and will be briefly interviewed by Ryan. Dweezil - going to icky places like the Hall and Oates bulletin boards so you don't have to.

9. "Years of Birth" |
LAST EDITED ON 04-12-05 AT 11:18 AM (EST)Or is that Year of Births? Anyway, I couldn't find exact birth dates, but I did find ages. Without exact birth date, I can only pin down to two possible years. The reasoning is thus - Anthony is currently 19 - that means he was born either in the first four months of 1986 or the last eight months of 1985. The same applies to all other contestants. 19 – Makes year either 1985 or 1986 Anthony 21 – Makes year either 1983 or 1984 Carrie Vonzell 25 – Makes year either 1979 or 1980 Anwar 28 – Makes year either 1976 or 1977 Nadia Scott 29 – Makes year either 1975 or 1976 Bo Constantine

Now that's my kind of music!'Course, they will undoubtedly choose songs I hate. Except maybe Bo (who will have a veritable gold mine of material) and Constantine (who will undoubtedly butcher it). I'm such a slut for the blues.

If that is true, I look forward to hearing most of them. Those are good years for music. I hope they will pick songs I like. Unlike previous weeks where they have made me not like Broadway as much and made me remember why I didn't listen to pop music in the 90s.

I can imagine it now, if they keep picking inappropriate songs:Anthony would pick "St. Elmo's Fire" Carrie would pick "The Warrior" Vonzell would pick "Time After Time" (hmm, Nadia did that one...) Anwar would pick "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" Nadia would pick "Love Hurts" (but that would be appropriate for Scott) Scott would pick "Don't Give Up On Us" by that hitmaker, David Soul Bo would sing "Some Kind of Wonderful" (actually, I wish he'd sing that!!) Constantine would sing "Mandy" (I'm getting a cavity just thinking about it.) Most of my picks were oddballs, but the song I picked for Bo....oh my!

Funny how how I read this the first time - Country of Birth or year of birth. I was thinking, "Okay, Anthony will sing a song from the Ukraine? But weren't the rest of them born in USA? How odd."Upon re-reading..... Looking forward to some good classic rock from Bo - from the USA, of course!

25. "Hall & Oates" |
When I was running a big record store back during H&O's heyday, we had them show up for an instore. In cooperation with RCA, we set up two live TV interviews on the local news during their appearance. I had been a fan of H&O since the second album ("Abandoned Luncheonette"), with Arif Mardin producing (and I also liked the third album, with Todd Rundgren producing, entitled "War Babies" -- although it sounds virtually nothing like their RCA material); I even had the Gulliver album (Hall's first group). Although I wasn't a big fan of their RCA stuff, I was looking forward to meeting them. They were the two biggest pricks that I ever had show up for an instore. When they got there (with the RCA promo person), they immediately tried to pick up the two prettiest women who worked in the store. They stayed in the office for about half an hour after they were supposed to have come out on the store floor, in their effort to persuade Jodie and Jana to come back to their rooms that night. Then they finally came out onto the floor, just in time to do their live TV shot with two of the local stations. As soon as the TV spots were over, they went back to the office, having spent exactly 10 minutes on the floor, all of them with the camera crews. Jodie decided that she wanted to go to the concert with them, but Jana still refused. So they took Jodie with them (yes, I gave her permission to go) and left by the back exit -- without ever coming back out on the floor, where about 250 people were waiting. I had to tell the crowd that H&O had slipped out. It wasn't pretty. RCA apologized, but the fault wasn't RCA's, of course. And it wasn't the worst in-store that I ever had. But it was pretty close. Jana told me that, if sleeping with pushy rock stars was going to be part of her work duties from now on, she was quitting (I should add that I was pleased to hear that for purely personal reasons, and I'll leave it at that).
