I was beginning to think they were going to have to carry her off the stage. She was frozen. In complete shock. Got to give her props, though, I was surprised she was able to sing after being voted off. I think that practice is humilating.

This is live, right? Why didn't they cut to a commercial (lord knows Seacrest is good at doing that) and give her a minute to compose herself? Cruel, just cruel. Worse that Simon's most cutting remark.

I Think she was in total shock. In my opion she was better than the other girl in the bottom two.The other girl sang a Avril Lavinge song and was flat all the way through.I really thought the one that left would stay and the other girl would leave. Of course , neither was my favorite. My favorite stayed.

Couldn't agree more Kim. I voted for Judd (because I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff on this show), and he had one of the most interesting performances. When you have guys like Joseph, Travis (both good, both boring as hell), and a number of those girls still here, to see a fun performer like Judd going is pretty sad. I could have dealt with him until the Final 12 got picked.

WTF? Why did they drag those guys out on stage only to tell them all they were safe? They did that both times with the guys -- had them stand up and went through them one by one.The only thing I can imagine is that the voting for Monday night (men's competition) was so low that they are trying to individually re-introduce the men to the audience? Is that way off track? 'Cos they didn't have all the women stand up. I just don't get it. (plus I got an 11-pound cat who has decided this is the perfect time to lay on my mouse.)

Did any of you all try to vote? I did and got through a gajillion times for every guy that I tried to vote for (including, I admit, Judd). I probably voted a dozen times or more for Bo and Constantine (I was afraid when I started getting through so easily and wouldn't stop until it was busy again). I also voted for Anwar and that Guy at the end, Mario?? Maybe another one. I can't remember. Was it so easy for the girls? None of them sparked my interest enough to bother voting. I've never had trouble getting through voting, even in the finals, but, I've also never gotten through more than a couple of times. I lost count of how many times I voted. I was watching a show and just hitting redial through the whole thing. Oh, and also, I was able to start voting about 1 minute or so before the credits rolled.

I must admit I didn't vote either night. I would be interested to hear from peeps who called in on Ladies Night. If it was that easy for you to vote, maybe not many votes were cast for the men. (Or people forgot AI was on Monday night - they haven't done that before.) Would support my theory that they pulled the guys out one at a time to re-introduce them to the audience.

i'm on board with this theory.we can confirm this next week when we find out the mon (male) ratings vs the tue (female) ratings and see if they match or if there's a lot more interest in tuning in on tuesdays. ~ cq of course, this doesn't support my "it's going to be a white boy" theory as much, but it does have me adjust it to "they WANT it to be a white boy" which is actually even better (read: eviler)

Kimmah, I am so glad you posted this! I dialed in for David and was terrified that I got through so many times. I was too afraid to quit hitting re-dial. I got through for Bo a few times too.I didn't try to vote for any of the girls. I was pretty confident that the three I like would pull in enough votes. Of course, after last year's diva bottom three, I guess I better quit thinking that way.

Just to help you out with your question, Kim...I voted for girls last night. Nadia - i got through after having to wait for about 30 minutes & voted 3 times in a row (she was actually my fav.) I also voted for Lindsey and Celena (because I thought they had potential and wanted to hear a little more from them)...and actually getting through to Lindsey took the longest, I gave up for awhile and started calling again around 10 (eastern standard). I got through on the first shot with Celena & voted however many times I did for her without getting a busy signal.

Well, they got three out of four right, so that's good. Melinda was a shocker to me. Randy is right in that she did have one of the better voices. It was obviously not a good night for her, but she was quite a bit better than some of the other gals who are still there. If I were her, I'd have been frozen and completely stunned as well. She definitely did not deserve to go home and she knew it. I really hate eliminations and the stupid way they go about doing it. But it seemed overly cruel this time. I was surprised that both Judd & Jared went (surprised but oh so happy). I figured Travis or Nikko would go along with one of the 3 'J' guys. So glad that didn't happen! I was also surprised that Sarah went home. She was one of the two I wanted to see go home, but I didn't think she would actually go. Got blog?

Who was "kicked" last night wasn't too off what I thought..although I DID think Melinda would have lasted a little longer....but i FELT for ALL of them in the crude way they were treated...I mean OMG crush your world then tell you to sing? Sarah in particular looked like she would rather have just said "no thanks" but I give her credit...she did do a lackluster attempt at it..and got through it anyway. My picks after Tuesday night was Carrie for the girls..and Bo for the guys...and I think right now...Carrie is the odds on fave in my book to follow Fantasia to the promised land as they say...LOL

I admired her for saying it - She was screwed by the focus on some/ don't show others way they handled the auditions. Jared and Judd both fell victim to it as well. If Anthony hadn't had all the favorable publicity I'm thinking he might have been out - his Monday performance was one of the weakest if not the weakest.

The only thing I hate about the elimination process is the fact tha Seacrest has to drag it out forever and a day. I also don't like the way he teases the contestants with "you are..................NOT in the bottom voting!" Aaarrrggghhh! This process is not new to AI, so if the contestants are stunned their name is called, then they have not been watching the last three seasons of American Idol. They have to know that some people will have glory on this show and others will possibly be humiliated on the way out of the door. The first girl to be eliminated seemed to have an entitlement attitude when she finally realized it was true that she had been voted off. She started instantly making excuses instead of just taking her loss gracefully. Singing after being told to scram, is not new. But if you have the attitude that you "DESERVE" to win, you will be so stunned that you can't sing. She deserved to be voted off because she sang the Celine Dion song out of key from the first note to the last. The second girl also seemed to have the stunned-yet-I'm-entitled-to-win-attitude. She sang her song as if she were angry at the audience. And let's say she was angry, don't take it out on us who tuned in to be entertained. She may have screwed up her own chances with her bad attitude because you never know who's watching American Idol. America made William Huang a successful recording artist (not a good one, just succesful) simply because he had a great attitude. I hope the other young ladies are taking notes and pick better songs next week.

Anyone else think it was very odd how Judd was booted? It seemed to me that Seacrest or the producers made a mistake - did you see that long, meaningful glare he gave the judges after he declared the last two male contestants were safe? then all of a sudden it was "Judd - goodbye" After he specifically said the bottom row of boys were safe. Very odd.

No, Actually, Ryan never declared the bottom row "safe" the second time round. He said to them "Relax, top row come to center stage" Compare this with what he said to the ladies safe row: "Relax, you are all safe tonight." It was done on purpose. And it was cruel. The whole show was cruel. Too much for even MY hard heart.
