Apparently MB indicated in a CBS conference call that he would have "fired the cameraman on the spot" if he had come to the aid of burn victim Michael Skupin.

Additionally MB asked, "Why would you need to know?" when asked if he would alert the media in the event of a sudden Survivor death.

As much as I hate to say it, I think round one goes to MB this time. I mean, if Michael suddenly was about to die and the cameraman was the only one in the entire world who could possibly save him, then maybe. But I don't think it's the case here. They had like a million medics on the guy, so I agree with the puppet master here.

Not sure what this means. Is it a bad thing?

After watching Mike with MB on the Early Show the next morning, my hubby commented that he believes that's probably why they won't show any footage of Mike in the fire, because the public outcry would be massive when they realize that the cameraman stood there filming Mike while he burned in the fire for up to ten seconds instead of helping him.

I think MB is lucky Mike isn't majorly hurt or scarred for life. Waivers as thick as the Yellow Pages or not, I think MB would definitely have a lawsuit on his hands if someone was being continuously injured while the camera person stood by just filming it.

Sad to say, but this doesn't surprise me at all. Has anyone seen his other show Eco-Challenge? I have them on tape (yeah, I'm lame)and I remember a scene from one of them of Burnette riding in a helicopter out to a wounded person -- the look of GLEE on his face was shocking. He seemed exuberant at the prospect of getting the camera crews out there.

Of course, once he was in the presence of said wounded persons, he was Mr. Concerned Producer.

Bah. Not that I am complaining, mind you. Give me bloody pig hunts and bikini-clad harpies any day over most TV dreck.
