i'm sorry if this is stupid, but i missed the opening credits of the very first episode, and i was wondering how they presented it. the tribes weren't formed at that time and i was wondering what order MB presented the castaways or if they even did anything.just curious, any info would be appreciated! thanks!

This was really the only way to demonstrate a couple of things. -- The order of the castaways changed slightly. On Episode 1 it was: Jenn - Bobby Jon - Ashlee - James - Jolanda - Jonathan - Stephenie - Tom - Angie - Ibrehem - Coby - Janu - Willard - Caryn - Ian - Wanda - Jeff - Katie - Gregg - Kim.
Now it's (changes in bold): ULONG - Kim - Bobby Jon - Ashlee - James - Jolanda - Jonathan - Stephenie - Jeff - Angie - Ibrehem - KOROR - Coby - Janu - Willard - Caryn - Tom - Wanda - Ian - Katie - Gregg - Jenn.
A few notable differences: This logo appears for a lot longer in the first episode than in the current opener, where it basically flashes for a half second. (At the start of the opener, anyway. The logo still displays for a while at the end.) 
While in the current opener, the wildlife shots are clustered together into before Ulong, after Ulong, and after Koror, in the first episode they were more scattered, and divided the castaways into about 5 groups. Also, a couple of shots of the castaways changed after the first episode, to prevent buff colors from being shown (even though the one they picked for Ashlee still had her buff showing.)

>Funny pattern there. It seems like Mark Burnett clumped the 20 Survivors into 5 distinct groups of four, based on the order in the opening credits. Consider: The 4 who think they are sexy as hell:
Jenn, Bobby Jon, Ashlee, James The 4 workaholics/overachievers:
Jolanda, Jonathan, Stephenie, Tom The 4 people screwed over / lost out due to numbers:
Angie, Ibrehem, Coby, Janu The 4 people with the worst haircuts:
Willard, Caryn, Ian, Wanda The 4 people stuck in high school:
Jeff, Katie, Gregg, Kim
Just a theory
