Survivorerist 4103 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Jerry Springer Show Guest" 12-02-02, 10:34 PM (EST) "Survivor Kiribati: What If? (Ultimate Nominations Game) Week 1" Welcome to the Ultimate Survivor: What If? nominations game! Now I know that there are like a million of these games going on at once, but the more the merrier I guess, right? This game will be entirely fictional, with the results of the challenges made up by me (read the note at the bottom of each post for how they were decided) and there will be SHOCKING NEW TWISTS like never seen before. Each one of the 16 contestants was nominated by a poster. So sit back, and drift away to a breathtakingly beautiful island, which is about to become 16 Americans' worst nightmare... Survivor Kiribati: What if? The Island of Kiribati As the camera fades in, a plane is seen flying high above a tropical landscape. Cut to a shot of the 16 contestants, sitting in two rows, with Jeff Probst in the middle. As the plane jitters up and down, some of the contestants let loose a vomit. The rest of the contestants do not appear to be having a very inviting experience either. Jeff Probst: We're flying high above the Kiribati island group, an island group in the Central Pacific Ocean, about 3600 miles southwest of Hawaii. This is the starting place for an extraordinary adventure. The weather and climate in this region can be extremely beautiful, but also unforgivingly harsh. For the next 39 days, these 16 Americans will call Kiribati their home. They must work together, but ultimately it will be everyone for themselves as they vote each other off, until only one emerges as the ultimate Survivor. The players have been divided into two tribes, where they will have to work together in order to rebuild a new society. From the Kiribatiese for bird, the Mannikiba tribe, which will always wear green, consists of: Helen Glover, a 47 year old Navy Swim Instructor from Middletown, RI. Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien, a 48 year old Real Estate Agent from Burlington, VT Colleen Haskell, a 25 year old Actress from Miami Beach, FL Neleh Dennis, a 22 year old Student from Layton, UT Lex Van Den Burghe, a 39 year old Marketing Manager from Santa Cruz, CA Gervase Peterson, a 33 year old Youth Basketball Coach from Philedalphia, PA Rodger Bingham, a 55 year old Teacher from Crittenden, KY and Jake Billingsley, a 61 year old Land Broker from McKinney, TX. From the Kiribatiese for fish, the ika tribe, which will always wear red, consists of: Elisabeth Filarski, a 25 year old Footwear Designer from Boston, MA Vecepia Towery, a 36 year old Office Manager from Portland, Oregon Jenna Lewis, a 25 year old Student from Franklin, NH Tina Wesson, a 41 year old Nurse from Knoxville, TN Sean Rector, a 31 year old Teacher from Harlem, NY Brandon Quinton, a 26 year old Bartender from Dallas, TX Rudy Boesch, a 74 year old Retired Navy SEAL from Virginia Beach, VA and Rob Mariano, a 27 year old Construction Worker from Canton, MA The first immunity challenge was called Flying Your Flag (previously used in Survivor: Thailand). In this challenge, the tribes had to row a boat to eight stations, where one member would have to solve a mental puzzle and release a flag. Each member was required to complete one puzzle. The first tribe to return with all their flags was the winner. Survivors ready? Go! This challenge clearly did not favour either the older tribe members nor the younger ones. On Mannikiba, Jake began to tire midway through the challenge, while Neleh had a little trouble completing her puzzle. On Ika, the same held true for tribe member Rudy, who admitted that he wasn't what he used to be, and Jenna, who had to take a little longer to solve her sliding puzzle. In the end, Ika was no match for the faster Mannikiba, who won by over 2 and a half minutes. Ika would hike to tribal council that night. Back at camp, Ika became demoralized at this early loss. While Tina used her diplomatic tongue to ease the worries of some of her tribemates, everyone was feeling vulnerable. Who would be the first voted off of Survivor: Kiribati? As always, here is where you come in. You have to vote off a member of the Ika tribe (if you can't remember who is on it, check above). Reply to this post with your vote in the subject line to cast your vote. Oh yeah, you may want to note something that Jiffy said at TC... Jeff:You guys had better come to a decision. If you can't choose who you want to leave, then I will choose for you. And trust me, you don't want me to choose... Voting will be open probably until Thursday, December 5. At that time, we will find out who is the first voted off of Survivor: Kiribati! Coming Next Week: The Gross Food Challenge. Note - How the challenge was done (Highlight text to reveal): Since the old members and the young members would obviously hurt the tribe in this section, I simply took the ages of everyone in the tribe and calculated the standard deviation (some fancy math thing I learned in school) of each tribe's ages. Whichever tribe had the higher standard deviation lost the challenge. Mannikiba had 13.06, while Ika had 15.47. (Another IceCat original ) The Top 5 FLL Castaways 1. Neleh Dennis (11 weeks at #1) 2. In fact, I'm sure you remember that this game was actually a branch off of ejm's original ultimate Survivor game. I guess what we could say is that these two games are running together a little. However, there are a few differences I guess. One, most everyone has a contestant of their choosing that they can root for in this one, which makes it extra special I guess. And the lack of choice for IC's (this will include individuals too, but read on) might mean you may want to think who you might vote for, cuz there's no guarantee who'll be up and who won't next time. Do the people who nominated each survivor participate in any individual way? I'm trying to work you guys into the game somehow, but if I do, it won't be in an overt way. That's all I'm saying. Alright you guys, there's no way I can just sit around and allow my nomination, Brandon, to be voted off first. I had a feeling something like this might happen, but I picked a risky castaway because of the challenge it creates. I'm sorry, but there's not much of a challenge in picking Elisabeth or Kathy for a game like this, everyone loves them. Try looking at it from a true survivor standpoint...what would happen here? Vee and Sean and Rob are all probably going to vote together here, right? Who else might they bring into their alliance? I suggest they'd bring schemers Tina and Brandon along, and target someone like Jenna right off the bat. For all of those who felt she went way too far in surv 1 what if, or for anyone who feels sorry for me being the probable first one to go. Support the cause. Help Brandon make the jury.   Top

As the one who nominated Sean, I vote for Jenna on his behalf as I think that's who he'd have voted for I think it's much more fun to play this game as if you are the person you nominated...much more realistic that way! I totally agree Lis and Kathy and other "likeables" will pretty much dominate as they do in every game and that's just not the way the cookie would crumble if these 16 people were out on an island (at least I don't think it would...). Sean may or may not choose to team up wtih Brandon were they tribemates, but I'd err in favor of an alliance because of some of the personality traits of the two (comical & outgoing). So whaddya say Brandon? My girl Vee...shall we get together again? This reminds me of a question I have..........   Top

"QUESTION and SUGGESTION" Okay I have a question...can anyone participate in this game? The reason I ask is that since there were 16 people who nominated Survivors, I wondered if only those 16 people were supposed to be voting. That seems like a much more fun way to play the game than opening it up to everyone (obviously the "outsiders" would just vote off whomever without having the same vested interest that the others do. I just kind of assumed that's how it would be without thinking twice about it. I know the idea of the poster who nominated the bootee being removed from the game from boot-point forward was briefly discussed, but I didn't see any mention of just having the 16 nominators voting. I think that might be a very interesting twist to this game....just my $.02 of course though   Top

But in "S3 What If" he needs to outlast KimP, she is the reason he was eliminated from the really S3 after he had given either her or Teresa the game. I can not sit by and let the deal with BaquaR13 happen, even though it means Brandon's departure here He went much further than I expected in the S3 What If, but I want KimP gone first. The final four you want there is the one I wanted from the start of that game, hope you can forgive me here.   Top

"RE: Vote change Vee" by one person not voting for Kim P he is not kicking Brandon off. That was not the deal.It is just one person. And one person not voting against Kim P wouldn't really matter that much. However, by you changing your vote it may mean Brandon gets kicked off. I changed my vote to Jenna, very sadly, because if she doesn't get kicked off this time, it would just be next time anyways. I feel bad voting against BMH's girl though... The Reality Show Queens!! It's a deal....ONLY if Brandon stays in this game this week. So if you change your vote to Jenna, which would make it 11 Brandon, 10 Jenna, and no one else votes Jenna or someone else votes Brandon or whatever, and he gets voted out first, then the deal is off. I think it's only fair because that way it won't have mattered that you changed your vote (but you have to change to Jenna) because Brandon will be gone from this game anyway. So, deal is, you change your vote in this game, and let's say also don't vote for him next round Tagi is up, and I don't vote against Kim P. in Surv III until the final two, UNLESS Brandon is voted out this round, in which case the deal is off. If Brandon is voted out the next time Tagi is up, that is not your fault, and the deal is still on. Sound fair?   Top
