"What happened with the boats" |
I was very surprised when one of the boat drivers tried to take the Geghan family on a detour to pick someone else up. This wasn't a case of a contestant picking a bad cab driver. Weren't the boats and boat drivers things that the producers of the show set up for the contestants. Shouldn't they know what to do and where to go. If the producers were providing the mode of transportation for the contestants and the person that they hired makes a mistake, the contestant shouldn't be held responsible.

Yes, we wondered the same thing. We figure they were obviously hired to be the drivers. So what/who were they going after. Maybe a good question for the Ghagan family when they get booted.

LAST EDITED ON 10-27-05 AT 10:50 PM (EST)Aside from a simple misunderstanding, it is possible that the drivers were hired but were not told this was for a race. There always is a driver who thinks s/he can make a few extra bucks on the side even while hired to do a particular job. We have already seen taxi cab drivers who take too long route to a destination that they knew exactly where to go. And bus drivers who needed to be paid extra not to stop to pick up more passengers.

That may be true, but the Geghan family should not suffer because the producers fo the show fail to adequately tell the drivers what they are supposed to do.

No, they should not. But what is not clear is wether the producers did not tell the drivers enough or if there was an honest mistake in transalation where the producers thought the drivers would only carry the racers then I can not blame them.
