Hey All I looked up TAR 13 on Wikipedia and said they were scouting loacations in Jan 08 and filiming in April/May 08 and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on when the next season will be on TV? Only 9 days out and I'm miss seeing a few Race things.

I think it depends fairly heavily on the writer's strike. If CBS is absolutely desperate for fresh material, then the next course will be run as early as possible, edited as the footage comes in, and tossed on the air about five seconds after the Racers hit the final mat. (Realistically: April running, about a month to cover the course, first episode hits in early June.) And if CBS is camping out on the panic button, #14 will film while #13 airs.However, if the strike gets settled and the network gets the scripted shows flowing through the pipeline again, there's less of a rush. Fast returns for the dramas and comedies could easily push TAR to summer or into the fall season. Right now, the worst-case is 'Big Brother: now seven days a week!' Anything below that can probably be survived. Actually, the worst-case is 'Announcing the prime-time debut of the new Starting Over!'

I suspect that if TAR 13 is filmed in April, then we will see it during the summer -- June to August, more or less. I believe the TV people have already said the writer's strike is already wiped out the rest of this year's season (even if the strike ended tomorrow, the writers would need several weeks to pump out several scripts, since a production company isn't going to go to work without several weeks of work ready to go -- then the time to film and edit the show -- none of the shows would be ready before the summer and I doubt the networks will start airing the latest episodes of "24" in the middle of the summer when not one is watching.) TAR on the other hand would be the perfect summer TV fare, especially if Big Brother plays itself out this spring. Then we can only hope that another TAR will be ready to go in the fall. >

My wife and her friend went to a casting call for Amazing Race in Decemeber. They were told they would need to be available to go from late March through Mid May. You are probably right on the filming. Althought for some reason CBS always treats Amazing Race as "filler" rather then a regular show. So if the writers strikes end who knows what CBS will do. If I had to chose on what to watch I would pick AR over Survivor or AI. Maybe I am one of the few who think that but there were sure a lot of people at the casting call at Jackson Casino in California.
