They had applications sent in in November and the race was supposed to run in April or May.
I don't know if they've actually planned on having the race. I'd imagine so with this writers' strike ruining primetime TV for awhile.

According to Wikipedia, there will be a TAR13, but only because of the writer's strike. If not for that, we'd be looking at having to wait until next year.As far as I'm concerned, the damn writer's strike can go on until the end of time. With the exception of House, there isn't a lot of scripted stuff I watch.

There was also a story with Phil somewhere in New Zealand; perhaps, they were scouting locations for TAR 13? What I do know is that they're currently interviewing and should start filming in May; around May 2008?
