"Madness in Seattle to Start Amazing Race"
As a Seattle resident I was very interested in the start of this edition of the Amazing Race. Dropping into Lake Union by Seaplane was a nice touch, and that really does exist, but no doubt this will a charter affair to get that many planes landing one after the other.

To start at Gasworks Park and find no one else present, and no other cars in the parking lot could only have occurred if the producers had permits? to block off the entire park. Even on a rainy morning you can expect people to be present.

It appears to be a rush hour morning drive for the racers when they finally left, and the fact that it was raining, and there was an accident on the freeway....hilarious, and completely typical!

What else that is not surprising is that they budgeted a half day to go around twenty miles to the airport, buy tickets, and wade through all the security BS to get to one of two departing planes. They obviously planned this out so that all teams would have enough time to get to the airport and out of town.

I know! I live near Seattle, too and I thought it was pretty funny how they zipped right out of the parking lot and on to the freeway. And when the Kentucky coal mining couple got advice to get to the airport via highway 99, I thought they were done for. The fact that they made it before the others shows they either know their way through navigation or the others were in traffic for hours...
