Could Eric be the "visitor" sent to FF this week if Galu wins win reward? Maybe he's trying to find the hidden idol early one morning and Russell or someone runs out to catch him?

I could see Dave there, yes. But still, these are ropes. Not made in camp ropes, real buy-'em-at-the-store ropes. A hammock reward rope, that fits, but the other rope is just there for Erik to run into? Why?This could be a relay race challenge scenario maybe? I'm just stating, I'm asking, it just seems to me curious, there seems to be no purpose for that rope that Erik gets tripped up on.

Re the rope: Maybe it's an extra piece of rope from the hammock that the girls used to dry out clothes and forgot to take down? That would fit with Eric complaining in the Insider clips that the girls think it's a big vacation. Would be a real shame if someone gets hurt because of a stupid oversight like that. Can't imagine they'd have a challenge in camp, but you never know.

LAST EDITED ON 10-02-09 AT 01:31 PM (EST)but the person is wearing a purple shirt, Dave's is black and his pants are longer
to me it looks more like RussWell's top and bottoms- black shorts but I think the bigger question is what the heck is going on if it appears to be Galoot's camp why is everyone running...part of a challenge...and if not how/why do either Dave or RusSwell get near Erik and is Erik still searching for the HII in the last shots..the scenery is similar to the shots of Erik and Shambo talking about HII but the latter shots are def. at a later time bc that person running by the hammock? is not Shambo.

True. I was going by what looked like the receding hairline. So it is probably Russell then. Is Russell jumping off the hammock? It looks like they start running toward the same thing at the same time -- they've spotted a tree they think the idol is in? Erik forgets the other rope is there and in his haste to get to the idol before Russell he slams into it? A tribe glows in Brooklyn

LAST EDITED ON 10-02-09 AT 01:42 PM (EST)RusSwell's hairline is pretty far back too Possibly he is getting up from hammock, but how in the heck does RusSwell know, did Shambo tell everyone about HII clues, or just Erik and RusSwell? And why isn't she around?
And why is that rope there if it's not a challenge...as a barrier...don't go beyond here? I like Squid's idea that it's a clothesline for women's clothes

LAST EDITED ON 10-02-09 AT 01:50 PM (EST)Yasmin might give RussSwell the real scoop on the clue. He's been pretty nice to her. I can't see Shambo wanting a lot of people to know about it. And I doubt Erik would share information with RussSwell. The fact that Shambo isn't around makes me suspect maybe she wasn't truthful with Erik but he spied on her and came back later. And yes I think the rope was probably strung up to be used as a clothesline. A tribe glows in Brooklyn

The clothesline falls down when Erik crashes into it, you can see it coiled on the ground. That thing that mysteriously shows up from the right side looks more like a long straight branch than a rope to me. But I don't understand why you can't see it at first. A tribe glows in Brooklyn

No. Follow the sequence in the initial post of vidcaps, the second rope is nowhere near the first rope.I'm thinking these ropes may be marking off a running course in a Survivor relay challenge, the running leg, and the sequence was promo'd out of juxtaposition with Eric's HII comment. Wish I could accurately ID the other person in the first rope vidcap.

I agree, the first rope looks like hammock rope. But that doesn't mean it is. The second rope is certainly not hammock.Let me ask this then: Why are they running? Except in challenges the players don't often run. I think this is challenge sequence. If it turns out I'm wrong, fine, but that's what I'm getting a vibe on here.

well looking at it again in video...Jiffy is implying that when Erik gets clotheslines he is looking for the HII...but there is a slight shift after Erik talks to Shambo where at first Shambo and Erik are looking and then Erik comes around the corner and it's RusSwell instead...the scenery is alike but not exactly the same I went looking for pics of Galoot camp but so few so far nothing with where hammock is...I'll check the video gallery over at SPhoenix

That is my question too, why running? BR's theorizes that Erik and RusSwell are both looking for the HII and RusSwell jumps out of hammock (first rope) when he sees Erik running for a tree that could hide the HII and Erik runs into 2nd rope. But that means that presumably Yasmin told RusSwell and we know Shambo told Erik (not exactly sure what she told him). And then somehow RusSwell and Erik each know that the other is looking for HII. This sounds a bit far-fetched so it very well could be a challenge. However, that first rope really does look like the hammock. But if that's the case, then, why would there be a challenge at Galoot beach? Is Foaf there too or is FOaf running over in their camp?

If you look at FloPo's original vidcaps, you can see the white "bird" or whatever it is in the 3rd from the last cap. (4th to the last too)Erik complains in the Insider Clips that there isn't enough food and the tribe isn't doing enough work. So maybe he takes the lead in trying to "catch" some food, since the fishing obviously isn't going well? Also, in rewatching, it seems like they're not running that fast like they would in a challenge.

Yep squid I think you have it...def. a bird that Erik and RusSwell are chasing. Gup, nice work coming in and stating the obvious after I spend all day looking for a vidcap of the hammock...I can't find one btwSo Jiffy is misdirecting us in that last 2 previews. Last week implying that it was RussHell (and not Ben) that was Jaison's "him" and now this week, implying Erik is still looking for the HII when he's trying to kill a bird.

As per the Insider, Yasmin told Erik and Dave that the idol at Foa Foa is in the sand somewhere. But here we see Erik, presumably subsequent to the conversation with Shambo, looking around at the trees. So does Shambo tell Erik that the idol at Foa Foa is really in a tree? Or does she let him believe it's on the beach, and Erik watches her and realizes it must be in a tree? A tribe glows in Brooklyn

my first impression was that Shambo told Erik of the 2 clues. She doesn't have guile as part of her reportoire (sp?). I think she needs somebody to confide in and she picks the other "worker" (although Erik was part of the "Yoga 4")In the insider clips, it is shown that Yasmin "lied" to her camp saying it's in sand...why? why not just say it's by/near/in a tree? there's lots of trees everywhere. She should have realized that someone else would get the same clue she got (unless she never saw an ep before, which is quite possible)

Well I think the tribe member who makes the revelation has to be on Galu...probably Shambo (about tree HII at other camp). just like last week as OFG explained there is one sentence in press release about the top heading (the 1st sentence here) The 2nd sentence is about who else...RussHell. Shambo tells Erik to help her find it and to get an ally. Does she also let the chicken out of the coop. And Who ISN'T RussHell's ally now except Ashley? It should be Jaison he's talking about from previews...but who knows it could be Natalie bc in the insider he talks about him being upset about Natalie telling him that she wasn't going to put Ashley's name down and he thought she shouldn't have said that and just voted for Ben. But is it finally misdirection with Galoot going to TC...let's see if there are 2 challenges. If not, then we know FOAF again goes to TC...

Last week the third sentence (the one starting with meanwhile) was about Galoot and they didn't go to TC. This week, with the first 2 sentences going to Galoot, I'm thinking it's their TC. - The castaway with a secret is Shambo or Yasmin. - The determined castaway in Galoot has to be Shambo. - The stunning revelation: either Yasmin about the idol or someone quitting, possibly also Yasmin. - The ally that RussHell considers ousting has to be Jaison = Misdirection. This may be Yasmin's last episode. Does someone else go?

>This may be Yasmin's last episode. >Does someone else go? How about RusSwell? They're up by four tribemates over Foo Foo and can sit out Yasmin in some challenges, plus it's going to be raining and nothing like sleeping on soaked pillows and blankets to remind them daily about the bonehead move by RusSwell. From the Insider, we know that RusSwell has been giving pep talks every so often on a pretty-much daily basis, so I would bet he's annoying more than a few people by now.

LAST EDITED ON 10-04-09 AT 01:17 PM (EST)All good points michel. I like the way you pointed out that the clues are flipped. I would bet there are two challenges this week. Galu wins reward, but then lose the IC and have to go to tribal. Especially when you see the newest promo - RusSWell is front-and-center and could be targeted and the promo asks if F-F can make a comeback (of course they could). Interestingly Yasmin is no where to be seen in the footage (at least I don't think so, the promo won't play for me now). Usually when CBS says someone "considers" something, its the misdirection for the week. There's going to be talk at F-F about who to boot out next after they lose the reward. But it won't happen.

"Hungry For A Win" @Galu: When a prize flies the coop, a hungry tribe turns against the castaway who holds a secret to game-changing clues...Galu wins reward, but subsequently loses their feathered prize. But we move on... Seems most 'decisions' are given to the leader. RussellS. While "clues" are given to the castaways who go to the other tribe. Yasmin and Shambo have already gone and could very well be considered as the castaway with the game-changing secret OR it could be a new player who will be sent there this week. Either way, having shared info could lead to some survivors searching for the idol together, most likely in the same spot as it is at FoaFoa. However, Jeff clearly said that the idols have different clues and different locations. After a tribe member makes a stunning revelation, the game of one determined castaway may be changed. The way this is worded it sounds as if one tribemate's revelation, effects another "determined" tribemate's game. It also sounds as if the determined castaway is a 'victim' of this revelation. I'm guessing something to do with "determined" Shambo, being effected by revealing Yasmin HOWEVER, due to the phrasing of the next clue, I doubt Galu will be going to TC. They are starting to get more edits though.(I'm leaning towards a Galu TC next week. Or a switch will happen and a Galu will be booted from the new FoaFoa or something. Maybe a Galu medi-vac?) @FoaFoa: Meanwhile, Russell continues his game of chess when he considers ousting one of his allies...
Good for Galu, RussHell's game of manipulation continues on FoaFoa. This week, he "considers" ousting one of his allies. Which at this point could be anyone. (Perhaps not Liz) If I were an ally of his, I'd be really concerned at this point seeing as how Marisa, an ally, was first boot. Betsy, also ally, was second. Then Ben, big ally, was the latest. My thought is Jaison or Mick are in the most trouble, with Ashley and Natalie running a close second. Considering Mick is absent from promos, that makes him pretty safe at the moment. Liz as well. Haven't seen Ashley nor Natalie either. However, Jaison is all over them. Yet even more importantly it does say "considers". Could somehow Liz fall into being a pawn?

The others turn on her for her exposed dishonesty?

I think you're on to something here, FP.The only hole in that theory is that it makes Yasmin's lie an essential part of the storyline. So then why would it not be shown to viewers? I would guess that a very small percentage of the audience watches the insider clips. Why would they bury it in a bonus clip on the website if it led to discord at the camp?

I dunno FP, I'm really trying to understand how in the heck Yasmin can be described as determined. It could be done all within one episode, I suppose, but that seems to be a lot of character mending to do on behalf of Yasmin's edit and a lot of back-tracking edits on behalf of Shambo. Yasmin seems much more the type to confront things face on (as in revelatory) whereas Shambo is more introverted (and exclusionary).

...just wanted to throw another scenario on the block...After a tribe member makes a stunning revelation, the game of one determined castaway may be changed. To me there are 2 folks that fit being the "determined" castaway in the vidcaps so far... 1. Eric: He appeared determined in the first preview vidcaps, deducing with Shambo if there is an idol over there, there must be one over here...and then we see him searching for it, and even running and getting clotheslined, seems to appear determined... 2. RusSwell: How about if Yasmin, Shambo, or even the one from FF that comes over to Galu, makes a stunning revelation to RusSwell, and he becomes the determined castaway....certainly something has happened to change his tune from I'm trying to make everybody happy cause I'm the first on the block, to "they've got to listen to me or there's gonna be some serious kicking..." He seems pretty determined to get everyone else to listen to him or else...in the promo vidcaps...

LAST EDITED ON 10-03-09 AT 04:23 AM (EST)Ok, so I'm going to propose something here... Scenario: Galu wins reward, and gets the chicken(s). Somehow or another, Foa Foa actually manages to win the immunity challenge. Who does non-leader Mick send over? Russell. Because there's no one else in the game he trusts more, and Russel promised him he'd tell him everything he learned. A HUNGRY TRIBE TURNS AGAINST THE CASTAWAY WHO HOLDS A SECRET TO GAME-CHANGING CLUES Castaway, not tribe-member. Now, if Russell burned the socks of people on his own tribe... what would he do if they let him loose on Galu? Setting the chicken free? Definitely. Setting up a trip rope for whoever chases after it? The guy's ego is big enough to think he'd get away with it... Not to mention this is the guy who is secretly holding onto "their" immunity idol. If there is already drama about Shambo/Yasmin revealing their clue, I don't think Russell would be able to resist putting in his two cents... Given this season's love affair with The Russel Show, I wonder if they'd make it this subtle, but it's not like they could reveal this without giving away too much... They couldn't say he was sent over to Galu, because that would be outright revealing the results of the immunity challenge.

I couldn't find the vidcaps on Survivor Fever yet, but here's the link to the video of the new weekend promo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLysxLdg-LE&feature=channelFinally, a promo that doesn't focus on evil Russell and seems to point to a FaoFao win. Lots of Galu peeps footage...and we hear Jeff saying the challenge is close, followed by the VO: "Will the underdogs finally have their day?" Looks like they're setting up RussSwell as a possible boot target, as they contrast the different styles of the 2 leaders (Mick vs. RussSwell). RussSwell sure sounds like a jerk vs. a nice guy when he says "If they don't listen to me, there's going to be some serious kicking...." Although, I'm also getting the vibe that Erik could be the "determined" castaway whose game is changed.

I can't watch the video because I'm not in the US. But it sounds like you're seeing separate challenges, right? Because we know that Galwho has won at least one chicken, and it appears that Fugga Fugga is winning IC. If that's true, then who gets to kidnap who and when? I would think the kidnapee would have to go to TC with the other tribe, so it would be after the IC, right? I'm asking because it figures into a larger scenario I'm putting together. I'm thinking that Fugga Fugga would send RussHell to Galwhosit, since he knew precisely where the other idol was and the tribes seem to think that the idols are in the same place at each camp. We know that Galwho is already hungry because they can't catch fish. Is this where RussHell ruins the rice (per TDT scoreboard)? And as Risti says, the person with the clues is not necessarily on the desperate tribe. "Hungry for a Win" is misdirection because the assumption is that it's the losing tribe Fugga Fugga, but I think it's Galu who is hungry for a win after losing their chicken. They end up losing the IC, the winner of the IC gets to send someone over to Galwho, and Mick picks RussHell because he would have a good idea of where the idol is. RussHell goes to Galwho, wrecks the rice and finds the Idol, all the while pi$$ing off the members of Galu who know that there's an idol hidden somewhere. *thinking out loud*

Hi Frisky, I'm not 100% sure (it's hard to tell without the vidcaps), but it appears to me that there are 2 challenges. There is one where Mick is throwing a horseshoe...then there's another challenge (which has a lot more vidcaps) where they stack blocks. There is the possibility that they are the same challenge, but I doubt it.But I agree with you, as I said above, that if there is a combined RC/IC, then Galu must win because they have the chicken. Also, it appears that Mick is wearing an immunity necklace in one of the shots...but I can't imagine they'd show it so blatantly, so maybe I'm mixed up. Really looking forward to the vidcaps!

Could the "stunning revelation" be Shambo saying either a) she's found the hidden immunity idol (which is really a fake but she tries to use it to save herself, since he's an outsider on Galu); or b) that RussHell has it. Or it could be c) she "outs" Yasmin's lie about HII, as others have already noted.(See my post in the post-game interview thread for more explanation. According to Ben, they hid a fake idol and Shambo found it, but Ashley told Shambo it's a fake. If this is true it could be big....and IF Shambo's smart, she's used the info strategically.)

I think Mick would choose RussHell (to be dirty and get info) and to find HII-maybe he even has a "deal" with RussHell that he'll send him but only if he gets use of the other HII if RussHell finds it, which of course RussHell will not abide by.... Can Mick pick himself? Not the best move though The other choice would be to send Jaison the diplomat over for the soft sell and get info but my $ is on RussHell.

LAST EDITED ON 10-03-09 AT 08:25 PM (EST)Emy, now that I've looked at the vidcaps over on Phoenix, I think we may be on the right track. The promo seems to be suggesting that big bad RusSwell is a force to be reckoned with at Galosers. Here he is pictured with Yasmin. This is one in a sequence of him and Yas talking. The voiceover says: Hmm. We don't get Erik in confessional, so he's voicing over the caps, and his voiceover is followed immediately by a voiceover by big bad RusSwell being all macho man. The casual viewer, of course, assumes that Erik is talking about RusSwell. But in fact, he is talking about Russ H. in a confessional after Galu loses immunity and Russ H. visits their camp. This is followed by a sequence of caps with various Galu members that fade to black, suggesting their are in trouble with RusSwell. Here's the cap they gave us of Erik: Mark Burnett: Hey, Jiffy, let's say we throw in a cap of Erik with the Immunity Idol in the background. Those spoilers will think Galu won immunity again! If you look at the whole strip of caps and translate each one into Mark Burnett Reverse Psychology, you get: 1. Galu wins reward (chicken, which they lose) 2. Fugga Fugga wins immunity 3. Mick chooses Russ H to visit Galu 4. Galu members know that Russ H. has a clue to the II in their camp, Shambo turns on the charm to get him to share the info, Russ shoots her down 5. Galu goes to TC and the votes either go to RusSwell or Yasmin, because we are led to believe that they are in control (RusSwell calls her his "homegirl" and they are talking alone by the fire while RusSwell is being all macho guy). Between the two of them... 6. Galu votes Yasmin outta there. The end. ETA: Actually, hang on a sec. I forgot to address this one pesky statement: After a tribe member makes a stunning revelation, the game of one determined castaway may be changed. I've decided this is a throwaway statement -- total misdirection. The game MAY be changed. I think all this boils down to is someone says something and their ally DR's that "oh, if s/he is going to do that, then I may have to do this..." I think this will be nothing. The story, IMO, is in the vidcaps. Perpetual *headbutt* compliments of Rolly.

Russell gets fed up with Jaison, his alliance partner, because of Jaison's constant complaining, and some Foa Foa tribe members start searching for their camp's hidden immunity idol. At tribal council, another castaway is voted out of the game. source: TV Guide Ok...I think these sound more clear... 1. WHEN A PRIZE FLIES THE COOP, A HUNGRY TRIBE TURNS AGAINST THE CASTAWAY WHO HOLDS A SECRET TO GAME-CHANGING CLUES ON "SURVIVOR: SAMOA" Clearly this is referring to Galu, and they turn against the one with a secret to a game-changing clue...so it must mean either Yasmin, Shambo, OR, the member from FF that goes to Galu... 2. After a tribe member makes a stunning revelation, the game of one determined castaway may be changed. I think this stunning revelation must come from Shambo, when she confides in Eric, and I do think that Eric is the determined castaway, and if his game may be changed, he just might find the idol??? 3. Meanwhile, Russell continues his game of chess when he considers ousting one of his allies. Clearly, he ponders booting Jaison, as the next clue tells us... 4. Russell gets fed up with Jaison, his alliance partner, because of Jaison's constant complaining <5> and some Foa Foa tribe members start searching for their camp's hidden immunity idol. Frisky, I like your summary. And I agree that Yasmin is the most likely boot target, esp. with Ben saying in his interviews that the two of them have hung out and made up.A couple other thoughts: As I recall, RussHell made a comment that Yasmin will pay for the way she treated FaoFao, so I wouldn't be suprised at all if he's the visitor to Galu this week, he will be sure to do something to put the nail in her coffin. Would also be very interesting if RussHell and Shambo team up to find the HII on Galu. They seem like an unlikely pair, but you never know....plus RussHell has to be worried about Shambo blabbing to Galu that he has the idol, so maybe he makes a deal with her to help her find the HII in exchange for keeping quiet.

These promos are interesting. The first one sets up Jaison as the complainer that RussHell is fed up with. I think this is misdirection as well. The other part of the preview vidcaps make Eric look like he's gotten some secret information that leads him to be the determined castaway...The main promo vidcaps, however, are quite different. They initially throw the spot lights onto the leaders of the tribes. All of a sudden we hear Eric saying he doesn't want to get on Russ' bad side...I too believe he is most likely talking about RussHell, who may very well likely be chosen to find the HII at Galu, as he's already found it at FF...but, the editors are making it sound as though he's talking about RusSwell...I agree with michel, I am now thinking RusSwell's story is just about over. He is changing his tune from offensive...trying to make everyone happy, to defensive perhaps. Will it lead to his downfall? Note they first pit the two tribes, then the two leaders against each other, but there is no follow through for Mick. Clearly, this is all about RusSwell. We know that it will start raining and that he will be in hot water with his tribe, which, imo, is what puts him on the defensive. This is either the beginning of his downfall, or it is the end of his story completely. What is he wearing around his neck here? Also, we have this frame... I think when CBS points out the underdogs to us like this, it means that yes, finally they will win...my money is definately on Galu going to TC. Most likely boot targets for me...RusSwell, Yasmin.

In episode 4, we get a glimspe of the sitter-outters in the block challenge: Holds up Magic Mirror: I see Shambo, I see Yasmin, I see Dave. This means that one challenge takes place before this one, making this not the only challenge, and making this the IC. ETA: thought I'd better throw this IC arrival cap in for clothing reference (note the II):

Great catch, that confirms it. (And thanks for bringing back Romper Room memories.)Looks like we have this week pretty well wrapped up.

Frisky, you may be right but I wanted to point out that the consecutive sit-out rule used to apply only within the cycle of 1 episode. Often, we've had players sit out the IC of one episode and the RC of the next. The confirmation could be more in RusSwell apparently going by the little league's rule of letting everyone play rather than any Survivor imposed rule.

LAST EDITED ON 10-06-09 AT 05:17 AM (EST)ETA: Never mind. I wrote some stuff about how it was supposed to be all rainy soon but all the caps are sunny except for the two cloudy ones in the beginning. But, once I watched the video, it appears that Jaison is wet when he complains about freezing. Nothing to see here.

76. "RE: More info on tonight's RC" |
Just noticed this on TDT, good info. Interesting that they're doing a lot more "behind the scenes" videos and previews of the challenges this year...also very interesting choices by the leaders -- perhaps giving away alliances?Update: Just under the wire, CBS releases a "behind-the-scenes" video of this week's RC (thanks to SurvivorPhoenix for putting it on YouTube). In it, John Kirohoffer reveals it's the "Do It Yourself" challenge previously revealed in TV Guide (and listed on the future challenges page). Kirhoffer says "We've sent... treemail to each chief to choose two people to send on a special mission." Apparently Mick picks Natalie and Russell H., while Russell S. chooses Erik and one other person. They get sent to the challenge beach, where there's a box with the colored balls in it. They place a flag in the sand, mark a line at 10 paces from the flag, and alernate trying to throw their balls as close to the flag as possible. Winner gets three egg-laying chickens.
