After finishing high school, Powers moved to Los Angeles. In 1999, Powers and two business partners established a boutique specialty marketing company with the goal of effectively branding products. On the side, Powers makes time to coach his son's football team. Previous employment included work as a club promoter and restaurant manager. Powers describes himself as witty, outgoing and funny. His most important accomplishment, still in progress, is raising his son. His hobbies include basketball, softball, writing and frequenting bookstores. Powers believes he can be the Sole Survivor because of his unmatched communication skills. He believes he is also a physical threat and has the ability to manipulate people and not have them be resentful. If he wins, he wants to buy some real equipment and a great field for his son's football team. Powers currently resides in Los Angeles under the watchful eye of his son, Boston. It is possible MB would allow a juvenile to participate as a visiting loved one, but it would be unprecedented.   Top

And he has a young son that he's raising all by himself who, according to CO, comes to visit him for the reward (assuming Shane is CO's "very small man"). Who wouldn't want to give him the million? "Birthday editing" Ok, I am actually trying to stay away from spoilers, but I am going to post this, Richard, Vecepia and Danni had birthdays during filming and We saw their birthdays celebrated/mentioned on the show. They ended up winning, Leann (S9) had her birthday during filming but they didn't show it. I am not sure how many others have had birthdays during filming, but all the winners that did have birthdays had their birthdays edited in. I am not sure when filming occured but Shanes Birthday is November 28, I think that was the time of the filming. Of course we would have to wait until a certain episode to see if they show his birthday or not. But at least we would know. The others that have birthdays near the film date (which I am not sure of) are Bobby-Aug. 20--- this may be a little early Terry Oct. 10 Bruce Dec. 17----I think this is actually after filming Sally Dec. 10 Tina Nov. 17 What do you guys think? mind the gap   Top

He's had a solo visual clip and/or soundbite in just about every preview. He can probably be ruled out as boot #1, possibly as an early boot in general (I know he's speculated to have some longevity anyway, via CO spoiler and tip to TDT, but I couldn't help noticing this).
