You know, I keep hearing how big of a mistake this was, but I don't see it. Here we have a guy who knows he's completely on his own, has already met the ladies alone, and would have no qualms about jumping ship (he doesn't have a ship to begin with) come merge. Keeping John K. around would certainly be risky given the fact that he has pretty much nothing tying him to Lopevi other than a buff. I fail to see how booting John K. was a mistake. In hindsight, yes, but at the time...what were their options, really? They were screwed either way so they went with the scenario that seemed the most plausible to work our in their favor, PLUS if it did, it gave them a numbers advantage. I'd say that was a pretty good decision based upon the info they had at the time.

Interesting how these later challenges have not been physical at all. Last nite’s was certainly aimed at a woman’s strength. It was no accident that all three men went out with the first puzzle.I’ve always frowned on how EPMB subtly inserts these aids that tilt the game in the direction he secretly wishes it to go. Re: Australia – Mike and the pig or earlier in S9 when the chicken ‘mysteriously’ wandered in the Yasur camp. Is MB intentionally giving the women an edge by ensuring that a female gets immunity?

He won't be able to. But the thing is, I think he has some kind of alliance with Ami. Hidden or secret. After the challenge was over, you saw him touch Ami's shoulder. Scout is about to flip this thing over on Eliza and Ami, though. They are going to get the guys to vote with them. Scout, LeAnne, Julie, Twila all want Eliza out. The only real problem I see is Chris giving info to Ami and ami pointing out to them that the women fully intend to be the final 4. If Twila is smart she will go with Scouts plan until they get rid of Eliza and Ami and then play the middle, maybe get rid of Julie, leaving it to her advantage, then go for Chris and bring it to final 4 with Scout, Leanne, Twila and Chad. She has a great chance. I hate they voted out Sarge, but I believe the reason Twila did this a second time, was because Sarge mentioned she was part of the final four. Ami is a big threat to all the women and the current men physically and mentally. Eliza is a big threat mentally, but chokes until serious pressure. Get rid of those two to level the playing field.

Unless Ami's not the 5th in that group. Somehow I don't see Ami as agreeing to vote off ANY of the women left before getting rid of at least one more of the guys. So Chad/Chris/Twila/Scout need to get a 5th to vote with them at least for this week, and who's out there to possibly get a vote from. Eliza could be that 5th vote, she knows that she's the low (wo)man of the remaining, so if Chad/Chris pull her in with a (F3?) promise, they go after the leader(Ami), and her assistant(Leann). Then Chad/Chris/Twila/Scout go after Eliza, cause by now Scout should be ready to ring her scrawny little neck. And then they go after Julie because she's younger and would be harder to beat in final ICs. Leaves Chad/Chris vs Scout/Twila to fight out the F4. Would at least make for a little more interesting final episodes.

The way things are right now, based on potential jury combinations, Chad, Chris, Twila and Scout probably can't win the game. If any combination of two of the four are F2, of course, one would win. Strategically, they should join forces now and make a gamble for taking control of the game from Ami. Alternately, Chad or Chris could play on Eliza's paranoia in the hopes of getting her to make a deadly turncoat play which would destroy her chances of winning the game. They would have to have Twila along, so playing on the rift between her and the other women would be part of a good strategy as well.Are we back to Burlies (Chad, Chris, Scout, Twila) and Bowheads (Ami, Eliza, Julie, Leann)?

Ami was shown in a confessional during the previews saying how she doesn't have to worry about anything with trusting the women. Using S.H.I.T or, as I like to call it now, the STC theory, there is a good chance that Ami's confessional comes during the misdirection portion of the show similar to the preview during Allstars when Richard Hatch was saying "you came after me so now you must go bye bye". As we all found out later, that was during the misdirection portion of the ep when Rich was trying unsuccessfully to target Colby. The Ami confessional could end up being from the same school of "Ironic Editing For Dummies". As I'll explain later, STC doesn't tell you definitively who the boot is, but it can be used to help identify a possible boot candidate. For example, the STC this week didn't show us for sure that Sarge was teh boot, but it did give us a clue as to what story would be told during this ep, i.e. the story of the bitter guy on the wrong side of the power with an axe to grind against the women. That, taken with the fact that he was an obvious IC threat plus the fact that we know that bootees get plenty of confessional time, helped lead to the best guess that Sarge was the boot. Sometimes, when you don't have sourced spoilers you have to do it the old fashioned way, using vidcaps, knowledge of editing patterns, and percentages.
So don't take the simple fact that I think Shakes is godlike to mean that I think he isn't an ass. -Samiam 10/12/04

OK. I was lazy and didn’t wade thru this marathon till now, and I should have because I have an observation. I agree that Ami’s confessional reeks of potential for irony (famous last words) and could be a misdirect, but it would also work as a subtle first 15 min. highlight. In that respect though, it compares to the Sarge presentation last week.Correct me if I got it wrong, STC (to KINGFISH fans, sorry, I got a Cease and Desist order from the Sheriff and a warning from Louie The Lip, so just get over it) says the bootee is shown but not heavy handedly in the first non-challenge stretch of the show, and then after the action sequences and before TC, the editors try and head fake us so that we go into TC with one suspicion and are surprised when the voters go nuts (according to what we’ve seen) with a surprise evictee. And I guess a corollary is that somewhere in the last 15 minutes they have to have something that they can use (with the promos) as a hook for the next week, may have spoiler value, may be misdirect, or may be bullcarp. Well, no doubt, the last show kinda fit this profile. For Sarge and Ami. And Eliza? And Chris? (No tape, no Tivo, just memory). They just edited out all the big meetings where they pinky swore to evict Sarge and left in all the parts where they said they were evicting someone else. And the promos heavily featured Sarge, so guessing he might be the subtle feature of the first 15 minutes was reasonable. STC could have been used to narrow down to the all usual suspects which would have included Sarge. But, since the profile fit several people last week, perhaps there is some additional setting-up going on for the others who fit the profile last week but weren’t evicted, and continue to fall into this in following weeks. Meaning that if one were to map the STC type profile thru two or three past shows, one might have additional narrowing. This would add credence to an AMI boot this week. Please, just don’t tell me if this is what VS is really trying to tell us each week (storyline?). I Promise to read them all the way thru from now on. (Just joking, your novels and the others are cool as are mine) BTW I thought S.H.I.T. was amusing, but I wouldn’t want to have to keep using it. I would prefer to reserve it for the S.H.I.T.h.e.a.d.s that use uncivilized language on these boards. STC it is (or what ever you like). Except anything with omnipotent in it.
