PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the

As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"opening sequence revisited" |
If this has been discussed before please lock this thread and be gentle I'm still rather new at this.I noticed something in the opening sequence. All the other contestnats in the opening sequence are shown as a still picture in a frame, some in color, some black and white, some with sand covering them initially and some not, but one contestant has a unique picture - Rupert. His is not in a frame, its out of focus for a second and its done to look like a piece of film. He is the only one with this treatment to thier picture. It could mean something since MB likes to hide stuff in the opening sequence.

Well, I don't know to what extent I buy the theory overall, but it WAS borne out last season. I can't remember who it was who identified this phenomenon, but last season Sandra's moment in the sun in the opening sequence was different from everyone else's -- something to do with her having no other contestants, and no representations of the elements (fire, water etc.) in her "opening sequence" appearance. So yeah, Gennenut, let's keep an eye on this and see if it comes true for Rupert.

LAST EDITED ON 03-05-04 AT 01:03 PM (EST)the only potentially meaningful shot i see in the opening sequence is Tom's: he is the only one holding a torch in an individual shot (there is later a shot of chapera as a whole dancing with their torches after winning the burning man challenge). does the fact that it's in water mean good things - he's emerging from water with lit torch? - or bad - the water's about to put him out? dunno. but it's still the only significant shot, imho
