bdemoney 745 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Reality Show Commentator" 01-29-04, 11:34 AM (EST) "New stuff to think about" Very little in this article is new or "spoilerish" but would be interested to get other peoples take on it. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/story/159228p-139723c.html Possible spoiler info.....Alliances are sought anyway, and some are established from the start. One of them will make you smile, because it's the dreamteam alliance every longtime fan should hope to witness. Meanwhile, Amber Brkich once again wastes no time playing the beauty card, and Hawk flexes her toughgal muscles. Tired of waiting for her tribe members to start a fire, she boldly, and recklessly, fills her belly with polluted well water. Will that decision backfire? We'll see. Although we already knew about Sue drinking the water. Make of it what you want........   Top

"RE: New stuff to think about" I hadn't heard this about Alicia before... ...and even funnier when Alicia breaks a land speed record rubbing teammates the wrong way. Also, I don't recall Amber using the "beauty" card, she was very beautiful, but I didn't think that she tried to use that in the game. Good article though, thanks for posting the link!   Top

ETA this was from an Early show preview: TS: We know a lot. Tell me how is that gonna work into the strategy? Lex: Well, I mean, it's gonna make my life a lot easier in some respects. I'm hoping to see a lot of my friends out here. TS: Among those friends is Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien, who even before taping began as showing -- was showing a crack in her loyalty. Is Lex irritating you? Kathy: Yeah... I can safely say that he's irritating me. And that's because he's doing too much talking...and that's because he's nervous. And I think he's nervous, because he thinks that there would be an automatic alliance or bond between the two of us. The article might mean that the idea of the alliance, if it's discussed, is one that should make us smile. Not necessarily that the alliance happens (yet).   Top

Actually, the more I think about it, the more inane this comment is, because it's probably an alliance this particular columnist would like to see, not necessarily the viewers. And with the "dreamteam" metaphor, I'll say he means an alliance of more than two. So instead of Lex/Kathy, Rudy/Rupert, Rob/Rob, etc., he probably means the "should-be-unstoppable" combo of Rich/Colby/Lex. The promos do give the inkling of a male/female rift in their tribe.   Top

So that means that all those interviews on the Early show this week had to have been done after shooting started and they were already on the island? Does that seem right? Some of the backgrounds where the interviews take place don't look to me like they are on the islands...I thought at first it might be the TC location, but after a second look, there are vehicles in some of the background shots and other, permanent looking structures...and the castaways look mighty fresh and coifed!   Top

Well, I'm certainly not the expert on interpreting these videos, but it sure looked to me like all of the interviews with each tribe took place at approximately the same time and in the same place...a kind of native looking structure that looks something like the vidcaps of the TC 'tree house', but not elevated like the tree house...closer to the water. All the rest of the footage seemed to be from previous Survivors with a few shots from the new tribe locations edited in.   Top
