Hmm.. Well, the reading list is very impressive, and while challenging her on being a little snobbish/high brow may be true, there are millions of 'high-brow' titles to choose from. What intruiges me is her love of a certain Neitzsche (I think that's spelled right.) I mean, Nietzsche is NOT about spreading knowledge to the masses, he is more about fierce individualism, 'God is Dead', "nothing is true, everything is permitted" "the blond beast" the master class and the slave class. While this philosophy may make for an excellent survivor player, especially on a pretty, sneaky scorpio, the 'comment' is REDICULOUSLY condescending. At my college, most of these books are standand required reading. If this girl thinks that she just stumbled upon plato, nietzsche, henry miller and alice walker, and that other americans are completely uninlightened, then she might get a shock. I mean, plato talks about Universal Truths, even if no one has never picked up Nietzsche, it's not as if they've never considered his principals. She sees Americans as just 'the crowd', 'the mass', and even though it can seem like that, every one of us is a thinker, has something going on. "However, if you try to accept the words of these brilliant and daring authors as possible truths, you will be free from our world full of politics, power and evil."
What is this supposed to mean?!?! Free from politics, power and evil? That's impossible, and her use of the second person is in a voice like "I know the secret, you don't." And the 'try to accept these works as possible' is also pretty obnoxious, as if people exposed to theories don't accept them as POSSIBLE, it's like the fallacy that religious people don't consider athiesm, but if they opened their mind to their idea.. when in reality the existence of god is an eternal question. Yeah, this is pretty Preachy language. If she carries this attitude into the game, then she won't succeed. She is a scorpio, though, so maybe she can just keep it inside, and apply the concepts, then we may have a player. MM

Christa and I were friends at UCI for a couple years. When I heard she was on Survivor I started checking out the fan sites and forums and naturally came across this topic. Some of the posters here seem to be so naive and gullible that they’ll take any scrap of info and run with it. Anyhow, at least some of you realized that even the stupidest person wouldn’t use their REAL first, middle, and last name and their school account to seek incriminating info about how to make drugs. Seriously, people. She used to lurk and post on newsgroups like that all the time just to see what it was all about. You can tell by her posts that she obviously didn’t know what she was talking about. I’d bet money that there isn’t a single person reading this that hasn’t pretended to be somebody else on the web before. There’s no arguing that Christa had a general problem with authority and loved controversy, all the time. She fed off of it and always was willing to “mix it up” to get a point across or just get under someone’s skin. You’ve all read her bio – jumping on the hood of her car to keep it from getting towed. There are too many more incidents like this to list – that one just happened to get her arrested. The truth is, she couldn’t have been farther from what you think while in school. She was a sorority girl and served two terms in student government as a Legislative Council Representative. She wrote many articles for one of the school papers taking strong, outspoken stands on one issue or another. I’m surprised you guys haven’t found those yet either. This stuff you’ve found is nothing. There are volumes of controversial and inflammatory papers, essays, etc. she’s written, all in the name of gaining perspective or just trying to open people’s eyes to the fact that there are many different ways of looking at things – or just f-ing with professors. Just look at her book list that you guys seem to have found. Topics such as drugs, racism, sexism, feminism, animal rights, government corruption and so on all cause controversy and bring out strong emotion in people. Thus, Christa was interested and would jump into the fray just to see what would happen. Anyhow, the fact that you guys were duped by this gives me high hopes for Christa’s chances on the show. One way or the other, she’ll make it great

Anyone else see a parallel to Kelly Goldsmith? Just reading through some of her posts and checking out her bios gives me a feeling that she was cast in the same way Kelly was (minus the hefty bank account).

Christa's still using drugs. She was reported to HR at Sony for bringing pot to work and openly asking her entire floor if anyone knew how she could smuggle it on a flight to Florida over Easter weekend, 2003. HR was investigating the incident when she asked for two months leave (apparently to be on Survivor). When her boss' boss wouldn't let her have the 2 months off (her boss was more than eager to give it to her; he hated her), she quit and had to be escorted from the building. As she was leaving the building, she was telling people she'd been fired, but she actually quit. Then she told her boss' boss he was "a ##### asshole." Anyway, I saw her come to work completely stoned or on SOMETHING way more than a few times. I think you can count the number of people who miss her at Sony on ZERO hands. Also, that ##### about her father being her hero? She told a "friend" at Sony that she hated her father and that she'd been molested as a child. But, again, she was probably just doing research for a term paper. Finally, I just want to add that I have never met anyone before Christa with such an almost non-existent sense of right and wrong. She called anyone who didn't bow to her an idiot to anyone who'd listen. She thought she was too good to park where everyone else parked so she parked her blue Ford Ranger step-side in one-hour parking and put an old ticket on it because, she said, parking police are "##### idiots" who wouldn't check (I guess she was right). She didn't question authority -- she openly defied it because she always thought she knew everything better than everyone but never could prove it. She openly admitted to stealing from her volleyball teammates and to frequent shoplifting. Working with someone so poorly socialized was scary and nerve-wracking. When I first heard she'd been cast in Survivor 7, I couldn't believe it. But then I thought, who better? Christa is someone ANYONE can hate. And THAT is TV-gold. --knowitall

Coming from someone with one post... it could be a jilted ex-boyfriend or stalker for all we know.But, boy, it sure isn't looking too good for Christie as a person, huh? *So far* we haven't seen any real evidence to support either that she's a good person or a bad person, but it's tremendously one-sided on the side of evil with only one 'friend' coming out in her support vs. all the bad posts to date. Spoiler value: almost none whatsoever. Remember, Jenna was an insufferable, vain, in-her-own-world beyotch, and she won S6 with the most one-sided vote of all 6 finales. Her behaviour could mean an tribal mutiny against her or it could mean other numbskulls would band together with her to vote out the good people.

Post Number 2No, I haven't seen her, but my guess is she didn't win. She was supposed to have gotten married in July, but inexplicably postponed her wedding -- NOW we know why. Anyway, before the end of July, she had sent a round of second invitations to the re-scheduled ceremony. Which means she wasn't on the island until the end, right? Which is okay by me. It's scary to think what someone that f***ed up could do with half-a-million dollars ($1M after taxes). At the very least she could have burned out a nostril! That could buy a LOT of blow! Also, for those who doubt those drug posts were Christa's, I believe that they WERE. Those annoying little smileys on every post were classic (insincere) Christa. She frequently sent emails at work that insinuated she thought the recipient was an idiot, but "softened" the blow with smiley's. --knowitall

Agree, pepe--knowitall may very well know Christa, but likely doesn't know Survivor--or weddings. Christa and her fiance could very easily have reset the date before she left, and had her mom or a friend mail the invites to hit the magic six weeks.

I think she may have had cleft palate as child. Sometimes people born with that condition retain a nasal-sounding voice, even after repair. My friend is like that, so I'm kinda used to it.(So when my family watches Survivor, I'm the only one who doesn't shield my ears frantically when Christa starts talking.)
