sweetpea 223 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Network TV Show Guest Star" 11-01-02, 11:00 AM (EST) "Paratrooper Is At It Again" He has put a place holder for the 8th boot on his site, but with no name in the source code. He thinks the boot will come from Soucky. He also has the "follow the star" theory reappearing for Thailand. I can't figure out most of what he posts, but it looks like he is saying that the star is appearing after Brian. What this means to his "the winner will come from Soucky theory" I don't know.   Top

"RE: Paratrooper Is At It Again" On Paratrooper's website, he has the 'follow the STAR' phrase. When you click on that, you get a series of photos of the clouds with sun peeking through. Click on this to see them. http://home.sc.rr.com/paratrooper/s5/star/star.htm (winks at samiam) My theory is that every show has a scene of the clouds with sun shining through making a 'star', and the cloud scene comes after a shot of the 'star player'. As above, Brian is shown, then the cloud sequence with star shining through. I know they do lots of sky scenes throughout the show--are we to watch for the 'star' shots and notice the player(s) that are shown right before and after? (Would it need to be 2 players, since we 'don't know' who wins?) Does anyone have the whole season taped, who would be interested in checking this out? Apologies if this is not a new idea. I have watched S2-5, but was never into spoiling until this year. Please feel free to flame if necessary.   Top

"RE: Paratrooper Is At It Again" LAST EDITED ON 11-01-02 AT 10:01 PM (EST) fivestarwheezy -- I've got 'em all on tape, and will probably sit down at some point and see if I can follow the stars. Just a little background for you though. In S2, a poster from SSucks called "Tapewatcher" posted an endgame theory called "the dog that didn't bark" that posited about mid-way through that season that Tina would win. It was a complex and well thought out theory. Tapewatcher returned midway through S3 with a "Follow the star" theory (using the logic you applied above), suggesting that Ethan would ultimately win. Again, "Tapewatcher" was right. In S4, my buddy Paratrooper picked up the "Follow the star" theory and applied it to Vecepia, who many had also already picked at that point. But PT also had other theories (including her placement in the first episode when Jeff Probst said "16 Castaways, One Ultimate survivor" -- her face was onscreen at the time). PT's a sharp one for sure, and he's got resources I couldn't even dream of replicating. But the stars in S4 were shown in regards to several other players, and actually were shown in the same fashion in S3 when Tapewatcher first initiated the theory. Still, it's a theory, and it's worth checking out. I'll post again here on SBlows when I've trudged through all of my episodes again. BTW, welcome to the crew here. You can't just ignore other instances of the star or somehow, when the star appears over a group of contestants, apply it to just one. Unlike me staring at the star pictures on Paratroopers' site, with a magnifying glass from far, upside down, zoom in, zoom out, all I could see was an "s" like the one in the USC logo. That was E7. So, is the S for Shii-Ann, or Sook Jai. Then I let my eyes go, like with the pictures a few years ago, a pic within a pic, and I saw a 9. So,Brian is the ninth boot.LOL! I also saw a lizard in the clouds, that could have been Penny.   Top

"RE: Paratrooper Is At It Again" I'm not looking at the stars anymore, but if you can look at the pics, there clearly is a large number to the left of the star. At first glance, I thought it was a 9 or an S, and now there is a good possibility it is an "8". However, this series of photos is only posted for E7, so who's to know if it's a fluke, or if all the episodes have a premonition of sorts? And who's to know if it's not an S for Survivor (ultimate).   Top

"RE: Paratrooper Is At It Again" alright, Paratrooper seems to be a fan of clues in the opening sequence. In the opening sequence to this season, brian is shown transposed to images of the sun. In Paratrooper's recent 'follow the star' theory (?) it shows brian followed by the sun, which is the same imagery in the opening sequence. The sun, of course, is a star. It seems that he's trying to say something about Brian. But, how does this factor in with other parts of Paratrooper's page, where he predicts the winner will be from SJ? He probably wouldn't be posting a contradiction if he was aware of it. Perhaps the star isn't necessarilly the winner. Maybe Brian gets second? MattyMax   Top

I think PT's "Follow the Stars" theory is interesting. I've been looking at the current opening sequence and noticing some patterns with regards to water and fire. Jed- first shot is Jed rowing (water) and then Jed's picture with water flowing. Jed is DOA Shii Ann- first shot of boat (water) then Shii Ann's picture with fire. Shii Ann is DOA Jake- first shot of swimming (water) then Jake's picture has water flowing. Erin- first shot of 2 floatation devices, then Erins' picture has water flowing. Robb- first shot of Robb's arm and buff (that changed colors) after winning flower game (water), then Robb's pic with water flowing. Followed by shot of snake. Robb DOA Steph- first shot swimming with rope (water), then Steph's pic with sparkleys. Steph DOA Ken- first shot building hut, then Ken's pic with water flowing. Penny- quick pic of Penny, followed by a mask or idol thing-y. No apparent water or fire. Penny goes by so quick, almost like something was edited out. Clay- first shot is rowing (water), then Clay's pic with water. Helen- first shot walking, then Helen's pic with water. Brian- first shot of Brian's face, then Brian's pic with fire, followed by shot of the sun (star). Ghandia- in the water with Tanya, then Ghandia's pic with sparkleys. Ghandia DOA. John- first shot is rowing (water), then John's pic with water. John DOA. Jan- on the beach (water), then Jan's pic with water. Ted- in the jungle, then Ted's pic with fire. Tanya- opens a bag during challenge, then Tanya's pic with water. Tanya DOA. It appears to me only Ted and Brian (CHUAY-GAHN) and Penny (SOOK- JAI) have no reference to water in the opening. I will have to watch the episodes more closely to look for the "star" (sun). One thing I did notice is since the opening was changed from the first episode, Brian was not followed by the sun ("star") in the EP1 opening. The sun pic was with one of the women. It makes sense to me that Brian, Ted and Penny could be the final 3. Brian and Penny seem to be really playing the game. Brian in his "kingdom" is fully into Richard mode. Penny is manipulating things to go her way. I think Ted is just along for the ride with Brian.
