Tocantins: The Brazilian Highlands! Welcome to another season of Pick the Bootee or PTB for short! I, db, will be your humble host for his sixth season of PTB. Wow, six seasons! Where does the time go? Big believer of not only dreams, but of looking into the past before heading into the future. So a show of love to the previous hosts of this game first. Echogirl started this game during the Amazon season and ran until All-Stars. KObrien_fan took over the PTB hosting duties from Vanuatu to Exile Island. Thank you so much for past efforts ladies. A special shout-out of luv to the one and only tribephyl! Thank you so much for the wonderful graphics tribey. You are the best and always there for me when I need a helping hand. One last pat on the back goes to taffnic for winning the PTB Survivor Gabon positive point title and to kircon for winning the red ink title! It’s now time to try and defend the title, can they be a repeat winner? We shall see PTB is a simple game. Each week a PTB player must guess which contestant will be eliminated from the game in that week, this is required. An elimination of a player can come from either Tribal Council vote out, a medical leave, or a flat out quit. There are optional categories for a player to earn points each week. Such Reward Challenge, Immunity Challenge, and First Confessional. There are also bonus questions each week for players to earn positive or negative points. There is no penalty for incorrect answers, just no points. Positive points players will be awarded + points and red ink players will be awarded - for correct guesses. Red Ink players will always have a place at the table for PTB. Your goal as a red ink player is to get as much as you can wrong without getting eliminated. Bonus questions you want to get correct because both positive and negative points are awarded for correct guesses. Reward challenge, immunity challenge, and first confessional guesses you want to get incorrect because every player is charged a point fee just for taking a guess. Should you get a FC, RC, or IC correct, you will be awarded positive points. Red ink players must also declare that they are going for the red crown by the week four entry. I will assume all players are going for positive points crown unless told otherwise. Any time a +/- is seen in the scoring chart, it means that both types of points can be earned. Weeks one, two, and three shall be safe weeks. I’m generous like that and this will give you an opportunity to get to know the players. Starting this season in week four, I will be doing a THREE STRIKES and you're out. Take note red inkers! In theory, you now can miss picking the bootee five times before you risk being eliminated. Same goes for you positive point players! Having only 2 PTB players complete Gabon last season was a bit much, even for me. So much more forgiveness this season. This game will also be open to new players up until the week three entry. First confessional. My definition of a confessional is a contestant who speaks without other contestants being able to hear. 9 out of 10 times there is some sort of a text graphic on screen with name, tribe name, and maybe occupation, but there is also that one time. So a first confessional does not need the text graphic on screen to be considered correct. Should you have any questions, feel free to ask. Pick the Bootee Game Rules 1) The object of this game is to pick the contestant who will be booted each week. If you fail to list the bootee during the week 4 entry or afterward, the three strikes and your out rule will begin to apply. 2) The minimum amount of contestants that can be on your bootee list is one and the maximum is one less than the amount of players remaining in the game. 3) Entries can be made at anytime from the start of the weekly entry thread, up until one minute before the start of the show on the East Coast. You can make as many edits as you want up until the East Coast deadline with no penalty. A “no edit” entry will earn a +/- 2 point bonus. 4) Should there ever be a double elimination episode, you must have at least one bootee on your list to stay in the game and having neither listed will mean elimination. Osten, Janu, Bruce, or Skupin type players will be considered a bootee even though no written votes were cast against them. 5) Once signed up to play the game, if you happen to forget to make an entry for a week, your previous week entry will be used. The second no entry week will result in elimination from the game. Yes, you can have another poster make picks for you should something arise. 6) Red ink players must have the bootee on their list, same as positive point players. If the bootee is not on your list, you will be eliminated from the game once you have used up your three strikes, the same as positive point players. Pick the Bootee Game Scoring +20 points for correctly having the bootee on your list +10 points for each vote cast against a non-eliminated contestant -5 points for each contestant on your list who receives no votes at tribal council -10 points each for making a guess at the first confessional, reward challenge, or immunity challenge +20 points for a correct first place reward or immunity challenge guess +40 points for a correct first confessional guess -20 points for not having the bootee on your list +/- 2 points bonus for having an unedited entry +/- 2 point for correct bonus question #1 guess, no penalty for incorrect +/- 4 points for correct bonus question #2 guess, no penalty for incorrect +/- 6 points for correct bonus question #3 guess, no penalty for incorrect +/- 8 points for correct bonus question #4 guess, no penalty for incorrect +/- 10 points for correct bonus question #5 guess, no penalty for incorrect Categories with a +/- symbol means that both types of points can be earned. Negative points will be awarded to red players in that category and positive points will be awarded to positive players for that category.
