Welcome back to The Office Pool!! Come one, come all -- it's time to play the Survivor 14 – Fiji edition of The Office Pool! This game will continue to remain quite simple. Like most Office Pools, all you have to do to get by each week is pick a survivor. However, for the “over-achievers” among us and there are quite a few of you, there will be ample opportunity to gain those highly sought-after bonus points that just might put you a step ahead of the rest of the pack!! Scattered among the weekly threads will be hidden and not-so-hidden clues as to how to go about earning extra bonus points. For those diligent sleuths, it should be a “Walk in the park!” So come on in friends, gather round the Office water cooler, and let me explain how the Office Pool is played. The Rules: 1. Every week in the Entry Thread you must put a survivor's name in your subject line. If you do not get an entry in before 5 pm the day of the show, you will be eliminated from the game. 2. You can NOT ever pick the same Survivor two weeks in a row!! Under any circumstances!! If you do this, than you shall be forced to Walk the Plank. In plain terms, you will be eliminated from the game. 3. Scoring: You will get points if your survivor wins a team or individual Immunity; wins a team or individual Reward; is selected by the Reward winner to share in the reward; finds a hidden Immunity Idol; delivers an elimination vote; and for every confessional your survivor has. You will receive an additional bonus if you correctly guess the number of confessionals your Survivor has each week. This bonus is called the “Hit the Nail on the Head Bonus.” When counting confessionals, the Hostess counts each time the survivor is shown talking directly to the camera (with or without their name shown). You will also have the opportunity to win or lose additional Bonus points throughout the season. As stated above, the Hostess is prone to use hidden clues for random additional bonuses, so it is imperative that players be extra alert and watchful for hidden or not-so-hidden bonus points at all times. You will lose points if your survivor gets votes without being eliminated, has no confessionals or is exiled to “Mutiny Motus” aka Exile Island. You will also get negative points for NOT putting your Survivor’s name in the Subject Line of your post and you will also be penalized –50 points for each time another player makes your post for you. More on that later in this thread. Finally, each week there will also be one or two Negative point bonuses where you may lose points. 4. If your survivor gets voted out, you are eliminated from the game. Always. There will be no Immunity! 5. I will post the entry threads at random times during the week so be alert! The picking will be in a musical chairs-type fashion – first come, first pick and so on. ALL PICKS MUST BE MADE BY 5 PM EST ON THE DAY THE SHOW AIRS. If you must be out of town for some reason and cannot make your pick, than you may ask another player to make your pick for you. You will only be allowed to exercise this practice TWICE during a season and, as stated above, each time another player makes your pick for you it will cost you –50 points. The picking player must put the following in his/her subject line when picking for you: JONATHAN-2 for BYOFFER or MIRANDA-1 for FLOWER POWER In other words, the Player picking for you will first put the Survivor they are picking for you followed by the Player’s Name they are picking for. Now remember, you may only use this option TWICE. If you try it a third time, you will be eliminated from the game. 6. Points and Leaderboards will be explained and posted each week by yours truly in a prompt manner. 7. This game can be played by all of those who sign up. Each week, I will post the Official List of Pickable Survivors. The number of players eliminated each week may vary due to an odd number of players playing the game, or unforeseen circumstances such as a player being eliminated for not showing up or picking the same Survivor twice. However, typically, there should only be two players eliminated each week. 8. Occasional discrepancies or oversights in scoring are few and far between, but sometimes can and do occur. If you have a concern or question about your score, kindly PM the Hostess. You will find me very open and usually agreeable. These are the rules. Welcome and Jump In! 9.
