"Better Survivor Tournament and Game" |
Maybe it's just me but all the discussions on best and favorite got me thinking... Let's hold a game!I have seen and heard about all the redemption, one world, returnees and favorites going on lately, I can handle. They have started to blur together a bit, for me. Therefore, we will be having the past 4 seasons play off against each other to find, an even better winner than the real show had. If that's possible. Well, here's the sticky on Phase 1: The first phase will be tournament style and will be held in a series of match-ups between Survivors from opposing seasons. Simply pick the Survivor who has WON each of the match-ups. Phase 1 will be open for 1 week. (1/15/13) When I will return to tally placements and begin Phase 2. Pick 1 winner from each Match-Up.
Redemption VS. South Pacific 1. Francesca Hogi v Sophie Clarke 2. Russell Hantz v Coach Wade 3. Kristina Kell v Albert Destrade 4. Krista Klump v Ozzy Lusth 5. Stephanie Valencia v Rick Nelson 6. Sarita White v Brandon Hantz 7. Matt Elrod v Edna Ma 8. Mike Chiesl v John Cochran 9. David Murphy v Whitney Duncan 10. Julie Wolfe v Dawn Meehan 11 Ralph Kiser v Keith Tollefson 12. Steve Wright v Jim Rice 13. Andrea Boehlke v Christine Shields 14. Grant Mattos v Mikayla Wingle 15. Ashley Underwood v Elyse Umemoto 16. Phillip Sheppard v Stacey Powell 17. Natalie Tenerelli v Mark Caruso 18. Rob Mariano v Semhar Tadesse |
18 will go on to Phase 2. Pick 1 winner from each Match-Up.
One World VS. Philippines 1. Kourtney Moon v Denise Stapley 2. Nina Acosta v Michael Skupin 3. Matt Quinlan v Lisa Welchel 4. Bill Posley v Malcolm Freberg 5. Monica Culpepper v Abi Gomes 6. Colton Cumbie v Carter Williams 7. Jonas Otsuji v Jonathan Penner 8. Michael Jefferson v Pete Yurkowski 9. Jay Byars v Artis Silvester 10. Leif Manson v Jeff Kent 11 Troyzan Robertson v RC Saint-Amour 12. Kat Edorsson v Katie Hanson 13. Tarzan Smith v Sarah Dawson 14. Alicia Rosa v Dana Lambert 15. Christina Cha v Russell Swan 16. Chelsea Meissner v Angie Layton 17. Sabrina Thompson v Roxy Morris 18. Kim Spradlin v Zane Knight | 18 will go on to Phase 2.
|
(Phase 2 will run similarly as Phase 1, further reducing the pool to 18 at which point Phase 3 will begin. At that point, the strategies will change and we'll get to find who really has the stuff to be the winner of all four seasons. So, Please come back for Phase 2 and the Real Game.)

9. "Better Survivor Tourney&Game: PHASE 2" |
Excellent job, folks. Certainly not as many as I had hoped would have joined in but... nevertheless, ahead we move...On to Phase 2. The Original 72 have been narrowed down to 36. Congrats, to the cast of Philippines as this season sees the most amount of players graduate to Phase 2. Philippines: 10 South Pacific: 9 Redemption: 9 One World: 8 Overall, though, fairly close to each other. With an average of 9 players from each season being worthy of moving forward so far. Yet, it's time to take these 26 and pare them down to 18 players, who will begin the game of Better Survivor. Phase 2 will run exactly like Phase 1. Pick 1 survivor to win, from each Match-Up below.01. Sophie Clarke VS. Jeff Kent 02. Coach Wade VS. Troyzan Robertson 03. Albert Destrade VS. Kat Edorsson 04. Ozzy Lusth VS. Sarah Dawson 05. Stephanie Valencia VS. Alicia Rosa 06. Sarita White VS. Christina Cha 07. Matt Elrod VS. Chelsea Meissner 08. Mike Chiesl VS. Sabrina Thompson 09 .Whitney Duncan VS. Kim Spradlin 10. Rob Mariano VS. Malcolm Freberg 16. Jim Rice VS. Lisa Welchel 17. Ralph Kiser VS. Michael Skupin 18. Dawn Meehan VS. Denise Stapley | 18 will move on to Phase 3. |
The second phase will be tournament style and will be held in a series of match-ups between Survivors from opposing seasons. Simply pick the Survivor who has WON each of the match-ups. Phase 2 will be open for 1 week. (1/22/13) At which time I will return to tally placements and begin Phase 3 a.k.a. The Better Survivor Game.

So you had Angie beat Chelsea in round 1, and now Chelsea beats Matt. Interesting... did you prefer Angie's cookies to Chelsea's?? You know there not "home made", right??

DudeOf course I will critique all your posts... so enjoy the lurve! I was just shocked in round 1 that you had both Kim and Chelsea losing. Made no sense to me (how could inZane who quit the first episode be better than the lovely Kim who won??). And you had Chelsea losing to Angie "I need some cookies". As for your round 2 picks, at least with respect to Kim and Chelsea your picks have improved. Oh, and please only use 3 ? when stressing a question.

01. Sophie Clarke VS. Jeff Kent 02. Coach Wade VS. Troyzan Robertson I will take game play over histrionics 03. Albert Destrade VS. Kat Edorsson love heror hate her, she played hard and was interesting 04. Ozzy Lusth VS. Sarah Dawson 05. Stephanie Valencia VS. Alicia Rosa 06. Sarita White VS. Christina Cha 07. Matt Elrod VS. Chelsea Meissner - cute couple. Hard to judge, as Matt spent most of his time at Redemption. He got voted out twice, so loses this to never-voted-out Chelsea 08. Mike Chiesl VS. Sabrina Thompson 09. Whitney Duncan VS. Kim Spradlin - but I will need to spend a lot more time with each to confirm. 10. Rob Mariano VS. Jay Byars 11. Natalie Tenerelli VS. Pete Yurkowski She made it further, but at least he seemed to try to play. 12. Stacey Powell VS. Jonathan Penner 13. Grant Mattos VS. Carter Williams - tough one here. I think Grant has more airtime. 14. Ashley Underwood VS. Abi Gomes - neither were good players, despite both going far. 15. Christine Shields VS. Malcolm Freberg 16. Jim Rice VS. Lisa Welchel 17. Ralph Kiser VS. Michael Skupin 18. Dawn Meehan VS. Denise Stapley - Dawn would have beaten Welchel and Skupin in my vote.

28. "BST Meet The Cast" |
Phase 2 has ended and the final 18 Survivors have been contacted to begin the game. A game which will have it's own twists and turns, as we go through challenges and tribal councils, voting out survivors, insuring that after all is said and done, we are left with a Better Survivor. The Lucky 18 that made the cast are...from Redemption Island: Ashley Underwood Grant Mattos Mike Cheisl Rob Mariano and Stephanie Valencia from So. Pathetic: Ozzy Lusth and Sophie Clarke from One World we have: Chelsea Meissner Christina Cha Kat Edorsson Kim Spradlin and Troyzan Robertson and finally, from Philippines: Denise Stapely Jonathan Penner Lisa Welchel Malcolm Freberg Michael Skupin and Pete Yurkowski Now that you know the WHO, the focus turns to the WHERE, WHEN, HOW and WHAT?
Where: Here, right below for the Episode 1 events. Probably another thread after we get through a few boots. When: Well, that's all due to change. Most events will take as long as it takes for a certain number of players to perform, sometimes they could last a couple of days and some other times it could be much much shorter. But I'll try to be sure to note the specifics with each event. What: This is a game for the survivors, however, you will often be playing on behalf of your favorites. Do not let the desire to compete, negatively effect your sportsmanship. How: Well, to begin... Episode 1: The 18 "Better-Survivor"-hopefuls were flown to a secret location to end the casting phase and begin the game phase. The Location is... Death Valley, California. Yup, right there, smack dab near the center of the southwest. INSIDE the U.S. Less than 5 hours away from CBS studios. (But what they don't know won't hurt them, right?) Located within the Mojave Desert, Death Valley is known for it's extreme temperatures (On average there are 192 days per year in Death Valley where temperatures go over 90°F (32°C). 134 °F (57 °C) is still the record. Worldwide record.) Death Valley is also the lowest spot in North America. Located at 282 feet (86 m) below sea level, surrounded by 4 moutain ranges, straddling 3 fault lines and forced into creating it's own arid climate, it's composed mostly of sand dunes, salt flats and granitic alluvial fans. Yet, not without it's own lifeforms as well. Most of those, granted, come in the form of fossils, from the ancient landlocked sea that USED to be there, a few 'cenes' ago. There are signs of life everywhere though and this inhospitable place is no different.
For the next some-odd weeks, 18 Survivors will try to survive not only each other, but the elements, the dangers, the extremes and most importantly, the players. YOU. In order to become a Better Survivor. The Survivors have been lined up in two rows, with the taller folks standing in the rear. Take their full-cast photos and then wait... and wait... and wait... A while later a burly gentleman in military camouflage starts seperating the survivors into 2 very large military-grade trucks, which signals the start of the adventure for the survivors. Thematic shots of waves of heat radiating off of expansive swaths of sand, intermixed with time lapse of rain being evaporated and mud cracking. Then some quick shots of a scorpion, a trapdoor spider, a roadrunner, a bleached cow skull... An introductory flash of each of the "returning" castaways, intermixed with images of lightning storms over Mojave landscapes and an introductory confessional: : "I'm ready to do this again and THIS time I'm making sure I don't drink the same Kool-Aid as I did during Redemption. I see Rob is here and so is Grant but without Natalie or Phillip, this could be a totally different season. Wait. It IS a diiferent season! Woot!" : "Looks like me and my ladies are back! Well, sub Christina for Sabrina and, well, I like hanging with the girls but I don't want history to repeat itself. I won't say no to an alliance with the girls, if they ask, but this time, I'm gonna make in-roads with the guys too. I really want to get my flirt on." *giggle* : "Well, I'm part of a dominant season, with most of them belonging to my original alliance, yet, they never treated me well last time. So I'm going into this with 1 thing on my mind. Revenge." : "The caliber of contestants for this game is pretty high. The 4 winners will obviously have targets on their backs and being one of those with an automatic target it's going to be an uphill battle for me from the get-go. Yet, this is also where I do some of my best work. So tell me, what don't you like about yourself?" : "Glad I got picked to come back. These experiences are just over-the-top amazing and to take part is just ... magic, really. So glad to see Rob here. I'm gonna go right up to him, give him a handshake and bro-hug, then put him in a choke hold and squeeze the life from him...ahem. Game On!" : "Good to be back! I guess this makes me the 2nd biggest returnee, outside of Rob. Somehow, I've got to wrestle the game from him early on, I feel. So beware, my startegy this time is to be a ...little... odd.er. What? What's that got to do with Rob? Well, let's just put it this way. I'm gonna try to steer the edit this season, my story has to be better. And compared to a majority of these folks, mostly those OW girls, I have them out-storied in my sleep. With my hands tied behind my back and a stinky buff over my face." : "OMG! I am sooo gonna kick @$$ this season! WOO! Go KAT! Woo! ... Grrr..." : "Well, I don't know if I wanted to come back. I was practically bound, blinfolded and gagged, kinapped and smuggled here. I hope these people are able to forgive my absolute dominance and perhaps I can create a simplistic ruse of having suffered some head trauma during the off season. Even with all these good players here, this game is IN THE BAG. You'll be sorry for having asked me to come back, I promise." : "Oh my Blessed Lord, you LIKE me? Great. That helps me feel a little better about playing again. I so wanted to just use the one experience as a jumping off point for my Hollywood return. But now to be forced into playing again, I fear I just don't know if I have what it takes. I think I know but I'm kinda known for not having a very successful plan-to-completion ratio. And with Malcolm here, and Pete, I'm just not comfortable with my chances. I remain positive in spirit though. I'm gonna give it a 2nd chance. Hope you still like me on the other side." : "I, once again, will have to change my strategy. Which so far is either connected to a babe or connected to a babe or connected to a couple of babes. And Denise. No babes from the Philippines here so I have to resort to cross-seasonal flirtations. I sure hope we don't play as season-oriented tribes. Gah. Lisa's here. Skupin's here. Pete's okay, I guess." : "I am a man who just has the power. You can doubt me all you want but I plan on making it to the end and winning the prize. Period." : "What a great opportunity! I am even more excited than I was the first time I was on. I know more, I know these people and this is gonna be phun!" : "Ol' Dolphinboy is baack! And I know my social game has always been the bad part of my game. So, time to either pick up the social or drop the challenge prowess. And I can't drop the athletic part. I really am part dolphin. Part monkey too. OOO Oo'uh Oo'Ah'Ah'ah'aaa" *beats chest* : "Allright! A second chance to prove to these d-bags and a-hats that I OWN this game. Players, beware!" : "Being that this appearance alone is paid and it also stands as the most appearances EVAH by a survivor, I will gladly rule over mah minions for an umpeenth time, from mah gawdfaddah thronechair. JP?! Get me a beer!" : "Wow, not only am I the youngest cast member, I'm also the smartest. Sadly, my odds are slimmed by being on such a weakly presented season as well as having Ozzy as the only other SouthPacifier. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Thinking long-term now would be ill advised but I do need to start feeling out the cracks in the other seasons and see if I can't turn things around from the beginning." : "I cannot believe I got picked to come. I'm totally gonna ROCK IT this time. Specially since we're Hantz-free. Won't make THAT mistake again." : "Haha. Looks like this season is lacking in Hollywood-good looking guys and well, I'm here for YOU, ladies."For what happens next, tune in tomorrow...

It's a good thing I'm not paranoid. I just couldn't log in and post for some reason for a week or so and if I were the paranoid type I might think that some SOMEbody wanted me no where near a Survivor game. hmmmm. Reality check, anyone wanting someone to score lower then they do should want me in. Soooo, I'll just chalk it up to some computer glitch and continue. Anyway I appear to have avoided all the heavy lifting and so shall slide right into the PTTE & game play if so allowed by Sir Nepharious. Oh pleeeeeeze? Pretty please? I should be watched....closely.

34. "Day 1" |
LAST EDITED ON 01-26-13 AT 08:36 PM (EST)The opening shot begins as a wide aerial over a vast stretch of orange sand dunes and a distant mountain range.
Today's temperature hovers near 96 degrees, it is 7am.
Appearing in the distance is a duo of military trucks with our survivors inside.
Flashing to the interior of a canopied truck bed... On the back of the truck cab hangs a video screen and the survivors are directed to pay attention to the incoming message from tribe. "Welcome Survivors! Before we actually start the game I would like to hand you your buffs and let you in on a little bit on the opening twist. See, thing is is that I don't have the buffs. The Players do. Each of the survivors will have to wait until one of the Players picks them to find out which tribe they are on. In fact, many aspects of this game will be determined by the players, so put on your seatbelts, survivors, this is going to be a bumpy ride." Players:
I will need 6 players to continue. The 3 starting tribes are Amargosa ~ Panamint ~ Sylvania and will consist of 6 survivors each.
Please choose 3 survivors, from either Truck 1 or Truck 2, and place them on each of the 3 tribes. 1 on Amargosa, 1 on Panamint and 1 on Sylvania. Ready, Set, Distribute! Survivors in truck 1: *Empty* Survivors in truck 2: *Empty* The Tribes: Amargosa
* Malcolm * Kim * Cheisl * Penner * Christina * Sophie Panamint
* Ozzy * Stephanie V. * Pete * Skupin * Chelsea * Ashley Sylvania
* Robfaddah * Denise * Grant * Troyzan * Kat * Lisa
I will try to keep up on the choices and edit this post to correctly reflect the available survivors but it is also advised to check previous posters choices before making your own. Once the tribes have been completed, I will move on to Day 2 & 3. Thank you everyone who participated in the tribal distribution. The tribes are complete, let's move on to Day 2 & 3, shall we...?

LAST EDITED ON 01-27-13 AT 04:53 PM (EST)Day 2: Getting to know poo. Excellent, the tribes have been decided. The Tribes: Amargosa
Panamint Sylvania
Welcome to the game, tribes. Here is a map to your campsites, I will see you tomorrow. *hands a map to each tribe* Malcolm, Cheisl, Kim, Penner, Cha and Sophie head off towards Amargosa. (PH/RI/OW/PH/OW/SP) While, Rob M., Denise, Grant, Troyzan, Kat and Lisa head off towards Sylvania. (RI/PH/RI/OW/OW/PH) And Ozzy, Steph V., Pete, Skupin, Chelsea and Ashley head off towards Panamint. (SP/RI/PH/PH/RI/OW)
2 hours later and roughly 5 miles of meandering over sand dunes, the Amargosa catch sight of their campsite. A large Water Tower dominates the site, painted in their tribal color, Purple, while a large (also purple) canvas tent is already provided and sit's within the afternoon shade of the water-tower. (See, production 'kind of' cares about the comfort level of the survivors.) Malcolm: WooHoo! A tent and Water! Finally! That walk was brutal. Everyone, already, is dehydrated and energy-less. It's become actual survival to insure we get enough water, food and shelter. Thankfully the water and shelter are here so we really just need to concentrate on food. Which, I'm positive, will be extremely rare. Either that or we're gonna have to eat the Sylvania tribe mascot most often. Scorpions are the only wildlife I've seen so far.
Kim: Wow. This is already brutal. I can't quite wrap my head around why I said yes to this. The environment is astoundingly harsh. I'm already nauseous, light-headed and fatigued. Not to mention that almost everyone has started getting headaches. We'll all need to stay overly hydrated to get through this.
Cheisl: Holy crap this is awful. It's gotta be over 100 degrees out here and it is relentless. No shade on our walk for the whole duration, now everyone is languishing underneath the water tower and drinking obscene amounts of water. I realize the water tower holds a lot of water but I fear for the future. However, another great thing about being out here, beside the tent and the water, is that fires are easy to start. All the scrap wood around here is dry as bone. However, and maybe this IS a good thing, the fires burn hot and fast, then go out easily.
Penner: What I see happening is that Malcolm, myself and Cheisl with Kim run this game from the get-go. We were hoping Denise would be with us, but it looks like she'll be the first victom on Sylvania.
Christina: Finally, me and Kim together without Chelsea, Sabrina or Alicia. Nothing lesbian there but she was definitely the only lady I trusted during OneWorld. Maybe Kim and I can get something going?
Sophie: Boy, oh boy, THAT was strenuous. I can tell right away the elements are gonna wreak havoc on the other survivors AND me. I'm certainl grateful for the tent and the water tower. The Water Tower is where we all tend to hang out as it's too blasted hot to do anything else but loll in the shade.
1 hour after that Panamint catches sight of their campsite. Their 6mile long walk took them down the center of an old dry river-bed. Various scratches, scat and scrapes as well as Pete twisting his ankle and Stephanie now on power alert because of her run-in with a rattlesnake as she squatted next to the river for a quick pee.
Steph V.: Ohmygawd! There's like Rattlesnakes and Scorpions EVERYWHERE. I have to find some way to sleep off the ground, I am petrified of snakes and knowing that they are everywhere AND they are venomous and they can slither their way into the tent, is making me sheet my shorts. guh *shivers*
Pete: This place is nuts! I'm here for less than a few hours and BAM! I trip over a fricken' rock and twist my ankle. It's not gonna make me leave, but it is definitely a target producer at this stage. Ozzy and I talked the whole way here and we're pretty much in an alliance right off the bat.
Ozzy: This place is both magical and dangerous. It's in the triple-digits and there are 6 of us walking along this dry-river bed. Stephanie gets freaked out, Pete twists his ankle, I end up sitting on a couple of large thorns during a restbreak and step in some sort of poop, that is impossible to wash off. My ass still hurts and I still stink. We're already broken. I need to somehow get these people up and excited again. Not to mention, getting this poo off my foot.
Skupin: Wow! It's like I fell in the fire again but can't get out. It's HOT! I know for a fact that Pete is against me, so I gotta find some folks who would like to get him out first.
Chelsea: I'm beat up, tired, hot and frankly, NOT excited about this at all. Not a single person from my season on my tribe. Ugh! Although, Ozzy is definitely an option.
Ashley: This is just nuts. On one hand it's so beautiful here. On the other it also so dangerous. Just like me. I plan on laying low the first few days, making sure to talk to everyone and feel them all out for alliances. And if Ozzy ever gets that poop off his shoes, I'd cuddle up to him, tonight!
2 more hours after that and Sylvania finally reach their campsite. The Sun is about to set and the last hour of their walk was in the shadow of their namesake moutain range. Overall, the Sylvania seem jovial and excited about their arrival. Except...
Denise: Allright. It's clear to me now that I am in serious trouble. Not only is Rob back, but he's already got Grant. Why is everyone else just simply drawn to him? I fear it's already too late and the Robfather has already supplied the KoolAid and these suckers have drunk it up. I started the walk with Grant and he was all about making sure Rob didn't get far and not an hour into our walk and Grant's up front with Rob, laughing, talking and joking around. I don't know what it is about that guy. Pheromones or something, maybe? Thank goodness Lisa is here.
Grant: The walk to camp was just amazing. What beautiful vistas and remarkable starkness. The colors during the sunset were otherwordly, golden everything. Just crazy to think about. Everyone on Panamint has been great, in fact... I went into this thinking I'd want to get rid of Rob first, but he's just such a great guy and truthfully I think I might want to adapt to a strategy that involves him. Beside, with him on my side, he'll ALWAYS be the bigger target, so it's kinda smart to keep him here for now.
Rob: These people are dumb. This is going to be a cake-walk. I bet the environment takes a couple of them right away, so I won't have to get my hands dirty at all. From there it looks like Denise is my biggest competition.
Troyzan: Incredible. The views are amazing, this environment is just CRAZY. The other survivors on Panamint are ALL just great. Yes, I even like Kat. She's for sure, grown on me and her enthusiasm is something this tribe is feeding off of now. With this kind of vibe going into the next challenge, it's no surprise that I think we'll win.
Kat: OMG! I'm sooo excited. I mean it's hot out and all but my tribe is just AMAZING! Rob is incredible, Grant is the coolest, Lisa is the greatest, I like Denise and well... Troyzan is here. He's been great so far, really nice, but I just don't like or trust him.
Lisa: So far this tribe is 2 versus 2 versus 2. Philippines versus Redemption versus One World. Denise and I have been trying to gauge the reactions of the two opposing seasons to see if we can't take out either OW or RI first. Not that I'm planning on throwing a challenge or anything, but I want to make sure things are set in stone BEFORE we have to decide. Plans and alternate plans. In fact, that's my goal this time. To make the MOST plans and moves. Wish me luck, Jesus!
Day 3: The Challenge: C'mon in, Survivors. Welcome, hope your first few days were good. Let's get right to the challenge, shall we? But first, this challenge will result in immunity for 2 tribes. 12 Survivors will be safe. While the losing tribe will be forced into visiting Tribal Council and voting out our 1st bootee. The Challenge start line is here.
The end line is... wait for it... 22 miles away. This may take some time. The Survivors must run this race. The 1st two tribes with all 6 of their survivors across the finish line will be immune. Players: I will need between 4 and 6 players for this challenge. Each of you have been given 65 mile markers and it is up to you, how you distribute them and to whom. 22miles is the finish line so remember to use your full amount of markers for your entry. (With 65 markers, you "could" get 2 survivors on the finish line (22+22=44) and move a 3rd survivor 21 miles forward.) OR (You could move 5 survivors forward 11 miles and a 6th survivor forward 10 miles.) OR (11 survivors forward 4 miles (44) and 7 survivors forward 3 miles.) Up to you. There are no negative miles, no way to make someone go backwards. Only foraward movement here. Regardless of how you decide to split your mile markers, all of the Survivors are Starting at Mile 0 and need to get to Mile 22. Again, all 6 survivors on a tribe need to finish in order for their tribe to win immunity. And since there are 2 tribal immunities, we will continue playing until 2 tribes have finished. Amargosa Malcolm: 0 Miles Kim: 0 Miles Cheisl: 0 Miles Penner: 0 Miles Cha: 0 Miles Sophie: 0 Miles
Panamint Ozzy: 0 Miles Steph V.: 0 Miles Pete: 0 Miles Skupin: 0 Miles Chelsea: 0 Miles Ashley: 0 Miles
Sylvania Rob M.: 0 Miles Denise: 0 Miles Grant: 0 Miles Troyzan: 0 Miles Kat: 0 Miles Lisa: 0 Miles
Please make sure to check the posts before yours to correctly add your mile markers to the survivors available. Please also include all of your math, to work as verification (and a "paper trail") Much like so... Ashley: 0 miles (+22) 22 miles FINISH Chelsea: 0 miles (+22) 22 miles FINISH Skupin: 0 miles (+11) 11 miles Pete: 0 miles (+10) 10 miles Steph V.: 0 miles Ozzy: 0 miles If it so happens that enough players are not participating, I will throw in my thoughts and make judgements/adjustments based on those thoughts. Don't make me do it. Other than that the deadline will HOPEFULLY be some time on Monday?

50. "IC1 Results / 1st Tribal Council" |
LAST EDITED ON 01-28-13 AT 07:08 PM (EST)IC1 Results Sylvania gets off to a great start and within a few hours, Grant and Lisa are across the finish line. A few hours after that and Kim and Malcolm have crossed the finish for Amargosa. More hours pass and Sylvania's Rob, Kat and Troyzan cross the finish. Followed VERY closely by the bulk of the Panamint. Ozzy, Steph, Pete, Ashley and Chelsea all make it to the end. Panting but yet still excited, Panamint cheer for Skupin, while Sylvania cheers for Denise. Grant and Lisa are screaming but the only survivor they see on the horizon is Cheisl. Where are Penner, Cha and Sophie? Finally, and to end the race; both Denise and Skupin cross the finish line... We have the winners! Congrats, Panamint and Sylvania! You 12 are safe from Tribal Council and free to go back to your camps. There is a giant Ice Sculpture of me at each of your camps for cooling down, enjoy. Sadly, this means that the real me has a date with Amargosa at Tribal Council tonight.
1st Tribal Council The Amargosa head to camp...(Insert Drama here) and get a last confessional before heading to TC... Malcolm: That sucked. We thought we had it in the bag. Emotionally we were totally unstoppable heading into the challenge. Then, BAM! or moreso *whimper*. *sigh* So TC for me tonight. I hate TC. Kim: Malcolm and myself were the only one's to finish the IC. Cheisl was close. We need a strong tribe going forward so it looks like Penner, Cha or Sophie might be going home tonight. Cheisl: I tried. It was brutal. The challenge was long, seemingly lasting DAYS. I kept trying but unfortunately we did not win. This is gonna be tough going forward too. Penner: Wow! Malcolm is a super-hero! I knew when I started that I was gonna have to have the best story going into this thing. Therefore, hold your hats, folks.... Cha: I feel horrible but I tottaly did not do well in the 1st challenge. I know they're gonna come for me as I'm definitely the weakest member of the tribe. But I will try to find someone who hates Kim, if it kills me. Sophie: I admit, I couldn't function during the challenge. We didn't keep ourselves hydrated and Amargosa's safety suffered because of it. It looks like Cha is going home tonight. Definitely weakest. But I have to admit, getting rid of Penner first would be more fun. Welcome to Tribal Council, Amargosa. Please grab a torch and light it in the fire. (Then put it in the holder located behind the seating area. Then go ahead and have your seat.)
So... Malcolm, How has the first few days been? Malcolm: It's been pretty good. We all arrived safely, the camp is great, everyone got along and then... well... Water Canteens started going missing and well it's been downhill from there. So, going into the challenge not properly hydrated probably ruined our chances of winning the first immunity. Are you saying that Amargosa has a sabatuer in it's midst? Or did your canteens just get lost? Penner: I think I can answer that. Okay. Penner: See, I was heading out towards the camp's long-drop, looking around for anything even remotely soft enough to wipe with and noticed a shred of canvas sticking out of the sand. I investigate and discover that it's a square of linen with a map on it and wrapped around a canteen. The canteen is full of... *gag* ...poop. Wow. That's gross. And disturbing. Why do you think someone would do that? Kim: I have NO idea. I just squat, dump and bury with sand. No canteen needed. Sophie: You don't go to the long-drop? Kim: Nope. I walk about 5 feet from the tent and grunt. Sophie: You're right, tribe, this is disturbing. Cheisl: It dries out in like 5 minutes. No stink. What's the big deal? I've done it too. Malcolm? Anything to pile on here? Malcolm: Nope. I am effectively constipated. Well, Cha? How do you fit into this whole scenario? Cha: I am fitting in fine, I think. Well, at first I was nervous and I still believe there is a high possibility I will be the first to go. But I did make plans with others and I know whose name I'M writing down. And it ain't mine. *wink* Well, as expected, this TC was slightly boring and plain and not well thought out. Or is that corny, nutty and apt to float? Perhaps we can just wipe up, flush this and move on? Players: Time to make your votes. Every vote MUST be kept private and sent to me via Private Message. I will count the votes, rearrange them for dramatic effect, post the results and then get to Cycle 2. You have until Thursday night to get your votes in. Remember, via my PM only.

52. "Day 4" |
"Running with scissors."Amargosa is reeling after their first TC. NOTHING went down as "planned" and all of them go back to camp and straight to sleep. Luckily, when they wake they realize the skies have clouded over and left the morning hours relatively bearable. The guys, with machete, rocks and makeshift slingshots head out to look for food. The gals decide to make a kitchen area out of old wood flats and large rocks. A couple hours later the men return with nearly a dozen lizards, intending on making a meal out of them. Kim was resistant but Cha insured her they tasted of chicken. Over at Sylvania, the tribe wakes to also discover the relief in tempertaure and decide to do various camp related projects as well; decorate the tent and water tower, build a tumbleweed border around the main campsite. Line the trail to the long drop with all white stones. etc. Strangely, while building the tumbleweed border, Kat and Lisa notice a small doll laying half-buried in the sand. Kat: "How weird. Totally random, Lisa and I are gathering up tumbleweeds to build a sort of fence around the camp. All of a sudden I here Lisa say she founs something and I run over to see she has a little "Spock" doll in her hands. I said we should make him our mascot. Instead of the Scorpion. Lisa told me tribe would never agree, so I told her that I would vote tribe out the first chance she had. Lisa told her that she would never have a chance and that it's best if she doesn't say negative things about the host while filming is occuring. I totally forgot that he can hear my every word. Love you, tribe! I'd make you the king! Uh if you aren't already the king. Sorry. I love you!" tribe averts his attention too... Meanwhile, at Panamint, the overcast skies have put the tribe in a bad mood. Skupin remains busy finding firewood. Chelsea and Ashley form a foraging party, Steph and Pete keep the fire going and ready an alliance. Ozzy holds his ankle on the continually melting ice statue of tribe. Chelsea and Ashley return a couple hours later, their bags full of stuff. Chelsea: "Ashley and I went foraging and found a bunch of stuff. Some Nopales and and a bunch of cactus fruit. We actually ran across some wild tomatoes and wild squash too but both patches looked to be a few more days away from being ripe enough. So we do have some large tomatoes, slightly green, in our bag. Oh and some wild onions as well." Ashley: "We also found an old pair of scissors. I dunno what we'll use them for but you can tell they are really old." TreeMail announces a promisory trip to an oasis as well as comfort at camp. It also hints at someone going home, so it must be for immunity too.

C'mon in Sylvania! C'mon in Panamint! C'mon in Amargosa!Sylvania and Panamint get their first look at Amargosa after tribal council, where Sophie was the first bootee. Denise's mind: Uh-Oh. They ARE targeting winners. Kim is in trouble. So am I. And to that end, so is Rob. Perhaps we should work together? Okay. Welcome to the challenge. First off and before I even explain the challenge we have some business to take care of. Since Amargosa is down 1 player I will need for 1 player from each of Sylvania and Panamint to sit out this challenge. By sitting out this challenge, they will immediately be sent to... wait for it... Exile Oasis! While there, the "sit-outs" will be treated to pool priviledges, free-flowing soft-serve iced-cream and condiment bar, and olde thyme soda shoppe sundries. As well as being forced to Sit-Out this Challenge, they will also be FORCED to sit-out the 2nd TC too. Yup, being a sit-out is quite a prize. In fact, it IS the reward. ~ Part 1 ~
Players I will need 2 players for this part of the challenge. Player #1: Choose 1 survivor from Panamint and have them "Sit-Out". Ashley Chelsea Ozzy Pete Skupin Steph V. Player #2: Choose 1 Survivor from Sylvania and have them "Sit-Out". Denise Grant Kat Lisa Rob M. Troyzan As soon as this is done, I will begin Part 2.

58. "RC/IC #2: PART 2" |
LAST EDITED ON 02-03-13 AT 00:22 AM (EST)~ Part 2 ~ Excellent, Grant and Chelsea have been chosen to go spend the rest of this cycle snuggling together over in Exile Oasis. (Start rumor mongering now) So...
As for the rest of you, tribal immunities are again up for grabs. 2 tribes will win, and 1 tribe will be going to Tribal Council. This challenge is called Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. Most are familiar with Rock, Paper, Scissors but taking advantage of some recent finds we will expand the roster. And as a tie in to The Big Bang Theory, here is "Cowboy Sheldon" to explain...
The Survivors have been listed in a series of Matches.
Match 1 : Rock is vaporized by Spock Point: Panamint
Match 2 : Paper gets cut by Scissors Point: Panamint
Match 3 : Rock crushes Lizard Point: Amargosa Match 4 : Malcolm V Skupin
Match 5 : Spock is poisoned by Lizard Point: Panamint
Match 6 : Paper is cut by Scissors Point: Sylvania Match 7 : Ozzy V Kat
Match 8 : Paper covers Rock Point: Panamint Match 9 : Skupin V Rob M. Match 10 : Steph V. V Troyzan
Match 11 : Lizard eats Paper Point: Sylvania Match 12 : Kat V Cheisl
Match 13 : Scissors are smashed by Spock Point: Amargosa
Match 14 : Spock crushes Rock Point: Sylvania
Match 15 : Scissors decapitates Lizard Point: Sylvania
Players You will need to decide how these matches turn out. Each of you has 5 items: Rock: Paper: Scissors: Lizard: Spock: You must give out your five items to five survivors. They can be the same survivor or 5 different survivors. You may pick a match and give out items to both players, thereby deciding the outcome for that match. You can choose a match and just give a survivor an item and let the next player decide who wins Or you can be the decider for someone who has gone before you. With only 5 items per player some of you are going to have to give up the deciding vote on at least one of them. The only rule. Duplicate items may not appear in any Match. Someone has to win, someone has to lose. IOW BAD: Match 1:
Cha: Paper Vs. Ashley: Paper GOOD: Match 1: Cha: Spock Vs. Ashley: Paper (Paper disproves Spock/ Ashley wins) The 2 tribes with the most wins after 15 matches will win the immunities. The losing tribe will be heading to TC#2.

That might keep the game moving quicker.

Ah a couple of things.#1: No saves. Once you go you must give all 5 items. Thanks for not saving, but I imagine others will want to do the same and really that will not benefit the timing. #2: As for the 24 hour rule for this challenge, let me think on that one. As of now there are a regular bunch of 6 players in this BS Game. As the setup is now, that not only covers all 15 matches but it gives all 6 of you a chance to decide the outcome for a couple of those matches. Fair, right? Well, I can see not wanting to drag this process out but truthfully, I can always use the current challenge time to create the NEXT challenge. I'm kinda running this blind and off the cuff. The location was literally decided as I wrote. I'm not even sure why I started it in the first place. I guess I get bored easily. And truthfully, the months leading into a season are when I'm most active. I'm usually too pooped during the show and specially as it drags on for 14 weeks, 7 of those less than entertaining. Anyways, now I'm babbling. Suffice it to say, I am currently deciding the edit for the next cycle, could use the time and am anxious to see everyone's input. But let me mull it over.

So, does that mean I have a rock to throw at Denise and give her a loss? If so, just do it!

69. "Day 6 / Tribal Council 2" |
C'mon in, Amargosa! You already know the torch lighting drill, go to it. So, Kim. You seem to be the only one to have succeeded at the 2nd Immunity Challenge. Winning BOTH of your matches. Does this put you in a good position or a bad position? Kim: Well, honestly, I don't know. There's good and bad both involved. Some folks will definitely see me as a threat and considering Sophie, a past winner was booted first, I dare say I could very well be next. My challenge performance be damned. True, but what do you say with regards to players like Cha, whom won NO matches. Cheisl: That's just the thing. Regardless of how they performed they are both on level playing ground here at tribal council. For us, it's to decide who to cut, when. Very astute, Cheisl, but I WAS asking Kim. Anyways, you have anything erudite to add, Malcolm? Malcolm: Regarding eruditity, I leave that to our more than informed and wizened host. However, I would like to add that there was a fair amount of gaming going on with regards to the challenge. We just came up on the short end of the matches more often. And truly, as far as I'm concerned, all this tribe needs is 4 more Kims. Kim: Awww thanks, Malcolm. So where does this leave you, Cha? Cha: Very nervous, as usual. I'm never comfy going to TC and having performed so poorly at this challenge (and the previous challenge) probably means my time is up. However, I promise, that if anyone wants to I SWEAR to be their pocket vote for the rest of the game. Any takers? Penner: I'll take her up on that deal. Kim: *gasp* *gulp* Cha: Thanks, Jonathan. I will fight for you EVERY day. I am your slave. Wow! So, okay. I think we've got ourselves some drama here. Penner: Is that all you wanted, tribehost? Drama? How's THIS for drama? *reaches into pocket and pulls out a pair of rusty scissors* Kim is paper and as we all well know, Scissors cuts paper. I cut you, Kim. Pfft! Kim: Well, If I'm paper, than you're Spock and I disprove you. Now we're both gone and what good did it do? Well, considering the original title was running with scissors, I doubt THAT will happen. Logically, speaking. Cheisl: Huh? Nevermind... So, if there is nothing else to add I will beg that we begin the voting. Players: Time to make your votes. Cha Cheisl Kim Malcolm Penner Every vote MUST be kept private and sent to me via Private Message. I will count the votes, rearrange them for dramatic effect, post the results and then get to Cycle 3, IN A BRAND NEW THRESD. You have until Tuesday night to get your votes in. Remember, via my PM only. Oh and I'm starting up the GOTS again. Just in time for Caramoan. If you're interested.
