"Shii Ann in the puzzle challenge" |
I do not have vidcap capabilities, but I noticed that near the end of the challenge, Shii Ann was a simple move away from solving the puzzle. Now, given EPMB's record, this could just be editing, but Shii Ann has always been portrayed as a "thinker" and this evidence (as well as here lack of strategy) proves otherwise.Did anyone else notice this slip? Does anyone have vidcaps of the challenge?

I loved the shocked/disgust look on her face when she lost to Rob. As if she actually was surprised to lose. Ah, Shii Devil, you've never shown any competence in puzzle challenges ever, why would that start now?

I agree with the replies above - Shii Ann fancies herself as a thinker and puzzle solver, but she has choked at every opportunity to prove herself to the world. I even recall her "give me a break" look when Jerri claimed the role of "puzzle solver" at one of the TCs.In any case, I thought it was Jenna who had the easy move - well ahead of Wab. It was the yellow board, so whoever had that color. IIRC, the knife was to the lower right, two small squares were side-by-side to the left, along with an open rectangle above the two squares. All that needed to happen was to move the inside square up, and to the left, then slide the knife to the left and out (down). But the player kept moving the small squares as a unit. BTW, if it was Jenna, that just shows Shii Ann was closer to 3rd or 4th (out of 4) in her analytical thinking ability. That is probably closer to reality.

I saw the same thing - one move on the yellow to win. My perception was that it was Amber who had it won.

It was Amber on yellow. Moves to win: sm. sq. down, sm. sq. left, knife sq. left, knife sq. down and out for the win. Instead she moved both sm. sq. down.

Four simple, OBVIOUS moves away from a win, and she screwed it up. You can see it online 7:21 into the challenge clip (Chapter 8). She had the yellow puzzle.--- UDG

I too thought Shi-Ann was supposed to be the puzzle guru. Maybe she was trying to pull that exorcism eye ball move on Rob? It's kind of hard to see a puzzle when your eyes are completely rolled into your forehead. Dunno...just a thought.

I saw it too -- I sort-of explained my theory on it in the summary thread. I think the chicks were all throwing it to Rawb so they could stay UTR, since there was little of value on the line anyway.

Shii-Ann is right up there with the all-time puzzle-solving great, Ghandia. Her mental capabilities rivalled only by ... mmmmm, let's say, Heidi! You can pay me now, or you can pay me later.
