"Dr. Stan on drive-time radio" |
Dr. Stan was on a morning show on 98.7 FM in Los Angeles this morning. I don't know the names of the hosts of the show, but Dr. Stan was counseling one of the guys (Jack) and his wife, who had called in for the "session"I guess he was doing an OK job, given that it was a radio show with lots of commercials and limited time. The whole idea of hit & run therapy (as with that disgusting Dr. Phil) doesn't sit well with me. Dr. Stan tries his best given the medium, but what it comes down to is that there's just no curing most, if not all, of the deep seated issues that have these misguided, attention-seeking people to a medium that is ill-suited for intensive therapy. I guess the point of it is to encourage viewers and listeners to seek the help they need on their own. At least with starting over, Dr. Stan and the HGs have weeks to work on their issues. Did anybody else hear his broadcast this morning?
