"so called specialists?"
What's up with all the specialists this season? As far as I can tell, none of the ones they've used are regarded as specialists by others in their field. Any good pychologist will tell you that dream analysis is very, very subjective. The same is true with the body language expert. I'm a communication professor and I've NEVER heard of this specialist before. And don't get me started on Christina's "hip hop" mentor!!!! Has this bugged anyone else as much as me? I'm afraid I'm losing respect for the authenticity of the show. Yes, I realize it's a reality show, but I thought Starting Over was a cut above the rest. This season seems to be falling into the same old cookie cutter trap--sensationalizing for RATINGS.

I want the old Starting Over back!!

I couldn't agree more!!! on all accounts. I've been watching from season 1, which at the time was aired at 4 a.m. in my city. I can't help but feel that with the winning of the emmy, the show has taken on the "Mark Burnett" essence of TV reality shows. I hope that as time goes by we will get the "old school" SO back.

I agree wholeheartedly!!! That trifling so called reformed Karrine was total B.S. and SO or Iyanla should be ashamed for not ckg into her further before bringing her on as someone who had CHANGED. If Christina really wants to change her life she needed a real inspiration not someone who has a pictures on her website glorifying soft porn and oozing sex. Even the front cover of Karrine's book is steamy. To me she is sending mixed messages which is not what was needed. How can you say the industry was sooo bad and you're glad to be out of it and then use your body AGAIN as a sex object on book covers and photos on your website. SO needs to get it together FAST..

Sorry as you can see I'm feeling a litte irritated. LOL
Truly overall I like the show but I'm not sure what is the direction they are taking the show in this season. It seems somewhat sensationalized and yes I know it's a reality TV show but the past 2 seasons it seemed like it was more concerned in helping the woman than the shock value. This season appears to be leaning more the other way. Come to think of it by the end of last season they had started pulling out the stops as well flashing us Karen's behind, etc.

LOL I'd forgotten about that scene with Karen. I agree with you. Now, if we could only get the SO executives to agree!! Honestly, I LOVE the show and hate to see going down the sleaze path.
