Yes, I certainly do get a headache when they start in with the psychobabble clichés. So old and tired-sounding... I mean, "co-dependent" was in vogue what, maybe 15 years ago?! I heard Allison say that on one of the reruns lately. Isn't there a new term for "codependent" now?
I get annoyed at IV coming in every mo'nin' and telling them to "be a great day, ladies, be a great day!" That couldn't be any cornier. If I were a housemate on that show, I'd no doubt be slapped down on my first day, because I feel like I'd just have to say something!
I have sat and tried to really listen to the LC's babble, and see if it actually means anything concrete. I think it's basically the old saw about self-love. Maybe they feel like with that line, you can't go wrong.
