OklaBlue 1244 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Politically Incorrect Guest" 12-29-05, 07:54 PM (EST) "Your Daytime Emmy Nomination for Starting Over...who gets what?" This might be fun. Check this info out: In its second season, "Starting Over" grew an impressive 43% in women 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research data (9/15/03-3/7/04 vs. 9/20/04-3/6/05). The series also currently has the highest audience concentration of women 18-49 and women 25-54 of any nationally syndicated program. It enters the 2005-2006 season with more than 25 local market upgrades, and a Daytime Emmy Award which it won in the category of "Outstanding Special Class Series." Now, who would you nominate from Starting Over, and as what? For example: Allison - best (worst) performance by a drama queen TJ - incredible facial expressions Lisa - most likely to get canned for faking it Dr. Stan Katz - best supporting actor Iyanla - best communicator with the Universe etc.....give it a try!   Top

LAST EDITED ON 12-29-05 AT 09:35 PM (EST) Your post is creative.... Allison- leaving in worse shape then when she originally entered the Starting Over House. Nominating her for conquering Cancer...Failing Life's future lessons, in terms of gaining any usful tools for graduating. So it appears on the surface by her behavior. ( example- Afraid of life more now, then when she originally entered the House, litterally fearing for her own physical Life and Death! I felt true compassion for her from day one... Now...she seems to be more confused and lost in general... A snafu by the coaches- an example... her desperate need to file for bancruptcy... No one - The coaches- suggested the option of perhaps Consumer Credit Counceling. To keep her dignity. etc. Principles from Fearless Living. Jill- She is doing well withn her weight issues in the S.O House. ( that could be done with joining 'Genny Craig') I applaud her lose of 5o pounds! "ATTA-GIRL!" She's learning from her alter ego maniquin to some degree. However, when she chose to put off her absolutly necessary surgery for 6 months- I realized in no uncertain terms that she learned Nothing benificial- of any substance while at her stay in the S.O. house. Her priorities are exactly where they were when she arrived at the beginning of the season. Christina- She removed her photo's from all her porno-sites. She conned people on the street for money- then gave it back. She already knew that she was a manipulitive personality before she entered the House. As you obviously need this skill/personality trait to even succeed in her chosen/line of profession. She was cunning and shrewed. Perhaps she needs 2 seasons to really appreciate her role as a mother and a woman of honor/a contribution to society that would mutually set an example for her son in the real world. (hmmmm? we shall see...?) Jessica- She cried a great deal. She never grieved for her Mother. I think she succeeded in the S.O.house. Some guidance and attention and she bloomed- facing her future. T.J.- She is living in the S.O. house but has a difficult time expressing herself. She seems to have difficulty connecting genuinely with people. ( which in my opinion- I see it a lot in the world, myself ) Not the most difficult task to learn. Some basics would serve her well. I refuse to blame her A.D.H.D. as her excuse for her reactions, behavior. etc. Some people were never taught/ or learned the art of people skills in the real world. Not a big deal in retrospect. Lisa- Simply put... There are 'givers' in this world and there are 'Takers'. Lisa is a poor excuse for a human being. I sound harsh and cruel. ( with all due respect to the posters here, this is my heart felt opinion/ not judgemental but truly my observations.) Lisa is inteligent and fortunate. She was blessed! ( We all live in some form of dysfunction...just various degree's- collectively. ) There are for more deserving people out there in this world that would benifit from the S.O. house more then she. I do not see a person who is willing to 'TRY' to become independent or useful. I see a 'user'- a whiny witch who cares for No One elses feelings but her own. Narcisitic and critical of others. No compassion nor understanding. Simply put.."She can dish it out but she cant take it!" I have no more patience with her. As individuals, we all need to set boundaries.She has none and will not respect others as well. Bottom line... Just my humble opinions... Oh and BTW/ I can't believe that "Starting Over' won an Emmy for this recent season... I can not even watch the re-runs!!! The New Season returns on the 8th of Jan. 06. To see the dramatic graduation for Allison. Is she ready Gang? I guess she is no worse off the when she came. I wish her well. I adore Dr. Stan. I respect and honor his work and his professionalism. Iyanla- Brilliant woman full of heart and soul. We can all learn from her wisdom. I hope every single house guest leaves the house a better person for having known her/benifiting from her guidance and direction... I sence that this is her true calling/ Her Gift. Rhonda- She has been through hell and back and showed us all that we can "SURVIVE"... LEARNING LIFE'S LESSONS IN THE PROCESS. A true testimony in a harsh reality. Many board posters can also testify to couragous examples as well. I applaud you all... You may not of advanced economically as Rhonda has- but there is a reason for everything in life. I personally do not question it. Perhaps this is NOT what the original poster had in mind, when starting this creative topic... Didn't Jill's 2nd medical opinion advise her that the surgery could wait? I remember that she got advice that the tumors were of less concern, and that she could schedule the surgery when the timing was right for her (and then she started planning a move, medical coverage, etc). I have to say, Soupy, that you are right on the money with Lisa. That woman simply sucks dry EVERY situation and EVERY person she contacts. I have no hope for her. She will die a bitter, unforgiving, hostile old woman in a nursing home where every staff person dreads her call, and keeps a checklist of who dealt with her last. Caring for her will be used as a reprimand for poor employee performance!   Top
