I was talking today with a colleague who also watches Idol. We were both impressed with Sanjaya's performance last night and agreed it was his best since his audition.My friend said, wouldn't it be funny if Sanjaya came into this competition and decided to start off the competition as if he was one of the lesser talented singers, and then play upon the VFTW people, and the followers of VFTW. Then ride that wave up until a point like now, where he would come out blazing at his full talent and try to take that accumulated fanbase to the end.
We both just went "Hmmmmmm....risky, but brilliant if he could do it."
It still bothers me that we saw this AMAZING singer in the auditions and Hollywood rounds, and then from the top 24 until last week...not so amazing.
Now this week, he's in tune, on pitch, impressing JLo.
Makes you go "Hmmmmmmm....."
