Russell promised that he changed his ways... He lied. Russell went looking for the HII... but Rooster found it. Rob used Phillip as a decoy and convinced Kristina that if she didn't play her HII, she was toast... Ultimately, Matt was voted out and is on his way to meat Fran at Redemption Island to duel... Fran's shocked to see Matt on Redemption Island... She was expecting Phillip to arrive next. He's not a happy camper about his blindside. He does see it as an opportunity, though... Back at Omatepe, Rob's happy about his plans success, and he now invites Phillip to basically replace Matt in his alliance... but is cautions that Andrea will not be pleased... We head to Zapatera, and see that David/Steve draw their color stones to be able to see the Duel. Alternate color is white. Andrea/Ashley are gonna represent Omatepe... Their alternate color is black. We head to the Arena! Today's duel will use sticks/rope to create a long pole. They'll use their pole to collect 3 keys to unlock 3 locks on their door. First one through the door stays on Redemption Island. Loser is the first one out of the game for good. Fran is the first to retrieve a key. Matt's pole falls apart on the first try. Fran gets her second key. Matt's pole falls apart again... Fran's pole collapses! Now Matt's pole is working and he quickly gets 2 keys! Matt gets the 3rd key! Fran just couldn't get that final key. Matt stays alive on Redemption Island! She has to toss her buff into the fire on her way out. He heads back to the Redemption Island shelter. Steve is considering telling Russell that Matt lost instead of Fran...   Top

Russell finally reads the HII clue and starts looking again for the HII... searching everywhere for it... and Rooster gloats about having it... Steph decides then to try to fake the 6 out with them holding a fake HII... by holding onto her bag as tightly as possible... Steve seems to have bought the bait.   Top

Very interesting how Rob emphasized to Andrea that FOUR people came up with the plan and FOUR people approved it.   Top

The Zap 6 are having a b&c-fest and is seriously considering tanking the next challenge and sending Russell down the chute. Julie doesn't really want to hear about it... Immunity Challenge time! 3 on a Water Wheel, 3 pushing those 3. On the water wheel spits water into a funnel. Once filled up, a ball goes down a ramp into a sliding ball puzzle. Reward is: Comfort Items: Chairs, pillows, tarp, lantern, etc. Ralph/Serita are sitting out. Zapatera is tanking the water spit part. Rob is working on the slide puzzle. David now is working on his. Dave is now tanking his puzzle work... and Russell might be thinking it was on purpose... Rob rolls the ball into it's finish line and Omatepe wins Immunity and Reward! Zapatera heading to TC, and someone will be heading to Redemption Island to duel... (Matt) Russell's lightbulb goes on that maybe... just maybe... THEY TANKED IT!   Top

"Ometepe, Day 8" Once they get back to camp, everyone is looking for the HII clue, but it turns out that Phillip was literally sitting on the clue! The new clue is VERY vague, though, and Rob is both happy and frustrated that he has the clue. Zap 6's plan is a 3-3 split to Russ/Steph. Russ complains to Steph about their tanking, and we get a closeup on Russ's 'Keep Hope Alive' Tattoo. They start trying to figure out who to flip from the Zap 6... especially if the vote is 3-3 against the Russ 3. Steph claims that they have the HII... Julie is considering flipping so that they can ride him to the top (EWWWW!) They plan on voting for Rooster... Russell finally says the words on his tattoo.   Top

One of my favorite scenes tonight was when everyone on Rob's tribe was looking for the HII clue in the reward stuff, and it turns out that Phillip's sitting on it in the chair. Too funny! Think it bodes well for Rob that he had the confessional about learning from his mistake last time to blow off the HII. This time he's going to hunt for the HII and keep it for himself.   Top

I'm impressed with how David seems to be keeping his ego in check, because he sure seemed arrogant on the preseason video. First there was that article about how he was the brains behind the 1st challenge but let Russell think he won it, then tonight he didn't allow himself to be goaded into saying that he really could have beat Boston Rob (which I'm sure he could have won if he wanted to). I got to hate him so much when things happenedd with Missyae and he was the sourcer as I hate sourced spoilers which ruins all the fun. But as much as I hate Russell, I dislike throwing challenges. That's why I didn't root for Ozzy in Cooks. If you are throwing it, don't pretend that you have no options but to throw because you can't stand him(or her).
