Jerri has matured so much. I know, I know, editing. And I can't believe that I am actually saying something nice about Jerri. It may be a first. But I have to hand it to her; all that therapy seems to have paid off. Kudos to her.

When RussHell thinks you are pitiful...Russhell says Sandra, Rob and Courtney are the weak and need to be picked off, when he is sittin with Rob, Courney and Sandra. Coach and Rob agree to vote for RussHell. Coach says to RussHell to vote off Courtney. They talk about voting off Rob and Coach doesn't want to. But now RussHell crammed his word down his throat. But it if he goes against them he broke his word...wants to be true to Rob. Rob knows they want him out. Tells Jerri to do what is best for her. Rob says you can trust him when his back is against the wall because he has no other choice. Jerri says she is not a good Villain.

Sandra--how is the vote going to be different--all kinds of numbers don't know what to tell you.Coach--Hope springs eternal. Tyson could bridge the gap. Danielle and RussHell disagree. Jeff says that confirms what Coach Says. Rob--Jeff says this is not a tribe working together. RussHell--I made the best move for me it was MY decision.
Parv--People are mad and it shows in the challenges. Coach--Everyone paranoid about alliances. Rob--People keeping about getting the team strong.
RussHell--Voting Me is about the team.
Rob--my idea of trust and loyalty is different.
Russhell--you don't have the guts I do.
Russhell--you gun for me you have to go. Coach where is your level for trust--Lines are drawn in the sand. Begging you guys to reconsider and keep the tribe strong. We can't do it if all our best competitors at war. Rob--eventually you pick who you trust and you go with that. Jerri--no one has come up with your name--both sides positives and negatives and I'm forced to make a decision and don't know if it is the right one but I have to believe it is. Jeff--tonight will be a turning point for the tribe Voting.

I can't remember the guy's name, but on a Survivor quite awhile ago was a guy with several tattoos and piercings. He sleazed me out so much that I stopped watching the show that season. Rob affects me the same way, and I would have stopped watching had Rob outlasted Russell.When I said that I loved Russell, I shouldn't have been so general. I love his cleverness and sheer nerve. I love his quirky insanity that doesn't always make sense, like his love of chaos. I don't get it, but it's fun to watch.
I've always enjoyed watching clever people. Russell was clever last season in the way he used the HII, and that had me cheering. I also cheered what happened in TC when he blindsided Tyson, particularly after what Rob had said about him. I love the way Russell made a comeback in the last season, and I love the way he lacerated the Villains tribe in this one. If he did the same to the Heroes, I may not be so forgiving. His downfall is his personality in that there is a lot of self-pity and self-loathing that sends him into self-destruct mode.
Even though he has the personality of a toad, if I had to choose to have coffee some afternoon with him or Rob, I'd take him. Even if he tricked me into paying for it, which he probably would. I don't trust him, and I probably wouldn't like him, but he doesn't sleaze me out the way Rob does. All that said, there really isn't anyone I'm rooting for this time around. I have a "maybe" (not Russell), but otherwise I don't see anyone worth rooting for.
As for Russell, I enjoy his chutzpah. His personality will keep him from the million bucks.

Really? I had no idea he was that old. Nevertheless, I would say that he has matured before our eyes since his first Survivor season, even if he was a little late to it. And whatever his age, he was very unsophisticated when we first met him. I do not mean to make excuses for him, however. He was really a despicable jerk that first season, no doubt about it. If not for seeing and appreciating Rob's development, I would be much more sick of him. We are now well into the second season of Russell, and I see no changes or improvements in his character at all. I didn't like him from the get-go and while I respect his abilities actually quite a bit at this point, I don't like him any better. In fact, I think he is poised to make the same mistakes that cost him the win in Survivor Samoa a second time. For me, the only redeeming factor in seeing these people come back for a second season (or third or fourth) is to see how they have changed, learned or developed as human beings. I am completely amazed at myself for kinda-sorta tolerating *mumble-mumble almost liking* Jerri this go around. She has come a looooooong way. Amazing.

Personality aside, I think that Russell is older and more set in his ways, so he isn't a likely to change the way a younger person would. Even if Rob was in his late 20's his first season, he had seen so little of life. Once he realized the world was a bigger place than he knew, he started to change, IMO. Russell is older than that, married, a father, a business person. He isn't interested in change. One huge disadvantage that Russell has, too, is that he doesn't know the outcome of Samoa. If he did, he could conceivably change his game play. Rob understands why he didn't win A.S.S. and has had time to process and learn from it. I think his conversation with Jerri this last episode when he told her to do what was right for herself was an example of his new kinder, gentler approach. The old Rob would have just coerced her. He understands he has to treat people with more respect, but ironically that is what got him booted earlier.

A few things surprised me tonight:- Rob should have gone after Parv or Danielle (vs. Russell). Coach, and possibly even Jerri, could have more easily gotten on board with that. Heck, Coach even told him he wanted to go after Parv. And even if Jerri wanted to go with Russell eventually, it would have been in her best interest to get 1 of Russell's girls out of the picture first, so Russell would need her more. But by choosing Russell as his target, Rob clearly misread the situation and it cost him. - I love Rob this season, but sorry, from what we were shown, he made a pitiful attempt at wooing Jerri to stay loyal. Why didn't he emphasize the risk of aligning with Parv? If anything, I felt like he pushed Jerri in the opposite direction. - Totally agree with Kuwabard that Coach was for once actually talking some sense in seeing through Russell's BS to Jerri. How ironic is that?!! But I guess the ultimate irony is that even though he was aware of what was going down, he didn't do anything about it and threw away his vote. - I think Rob's "little man" comment was partly out of anger but also to make Coach feel guilty and maybe snap out of it and stick with Courtney/Sandra. But the way he was so wishy washy this week, I can definitely see how Russell would want to cut Coach loose next (plus then Jerri is totally reliant on Russell). It is interesting how quickly this games changes. The Heroes got their happy hero music back this week, Colby's winning challenges again..and Jeff closed with foreshadowing about how the Villians tribe will destroy itself. P.S. I really wish the Ponderosa clips started already! Would love to hear Tyson and Rob's comments tonight.

Agreee with everything you say, but I think both Russell and Rob are good at reading and manipulating people. Robs big mistake here was to seriously underestimate Russell. Pride goeth to Loser Lodge, in this case.

Rob's big mistake is he grew a heart. I think if he'd stepped back and let Coach have his way and voted Courtney he'd been around another week to re-group. Jerri and Sandra both, I think, would have voted with them. He'd then at least have had a chance of individual immunity if they merge.
